Latest updates on my project.
I did some chrome work on it. I took some fine steel wool to all the chrome on the moped....cleaned it up real good, almost looks factory! It makes the whole moped look a lot nicer in person. Chromed parts include the panels to the under the seat storage, front fender, both rims, speed-o-meter bezel, fork top caps, and handlebars
Now, I'd like to re-paint the numbers on the speed-o-meter...they're really sun faded as you can tell....so, what would be the best way to do that? Fine brush and a steady hand? I'll be painting them the bright blue they were previously....and giving the needle some fresh paint as well...I'm also gonna see if I can bleach the yellowed plastic.....make it look newish again.
But yea, overall happy with the outcome of the chrome...it hasn't even been polished with chrome polished.....took me 2 rolls and about 3 hours of work all together to get the chrome to how it looks in those pics.
I'm also in the process of getting a title for it....I also removed the brass fork lock, and gonna get a key made up for it. I've also got all the lights working on it, whichis a bonus...and keeps me away from the nightmare of wiring it again. I've also done small stuff like installed a inline fuel filter, and patched up the seat with a sheet of duct tape. It will get upholstered at some point in time....I got a leather skirt I plan on using for it.
It'll be storedfor the winter, not sure if I"ll work on it then.
