and cherie or whatever her name is isn't my character. still suiting.
if me dressing in an anthro character that's not mine was fursuiting, then you dressing in an anthro character that's not yours is still fursuiting. It's worse than the pot calling the kettle black because the kettle refuses to believe the similarity.

Nice Strawman.
Unfortunately, it's an easy Strawman to deconstruct:
Mascot costumes themselves and non human anthropomorphic cosplays themselves are fursuits by synonym. However, the suits alone are irrelevant; but let's entertain this false logic for a moment, shall we?
The verb cosplay is short for "costume play", reffering to changing one's appearance to portray a character. Some of these characters are indeed non human anthropomorphs, I.E: a being that is not human yet shows human qualities and or traits.
The verb fursuiting refers to changing one's appearance to portray a non human anthropomorph.
Therefore if fursuiting is changing one's appearance to portray a non human anthropomorph, logic would dictate that cosplaying as a non human anthropomorph is by definition fursuiting.
I'm not arguing that you're not cosplaying; I am not even arguing that while all fursuiting is cosplaying, all cosplaying is fursuiting. No, I'm arguing that since the character you are portraying in question is a non human anthropomorph then it is, was and will be fursuiting. To deny this is to deny logic and reason to protect your shaken pride. Your ego will mend. It's okay to be wrong. I'm not angry at you, I am merely trying to help you have a less skewed understanding. I am, however, incredibly disappointed that you would insinuate that mildy annoying you by pointing out wrongs in attempt to help you will lead to negative consequences for me.
For the sake of your own sanity and intelligence please do not close your mind to genuine criticism. Without learning your mistakes you can and will bring your downfall as a respectable human being.

a less awkward situation? you made it like this dude, look i don't care what you consider it to be, it is 100% not a fur suit to me whatever the fuck your thoughts are. i have no mistakes just personal opinion and everyone else seems to agree with me that it is intact not a fur suit. I don't even want to be related to one in this situation.
Hi there, I know this isn't really any of my business but this exchange was so uncomfortable to read I was compelled to add some information.
'Furry' means any anthropomorphized animal character, a classification in which Mordecai and Rigby would fit. 'Fursuiting' refers to any cosplay of an anthropomorphized character, a classification in which (some) sports mascot characters would fit (the earliest fursuits were built the same way as sports mascot costumes). Fursuiting is a subgenre of cosplay, just like 'steampunk' is. So technically you are both right in your arguments, but egregrious is slightly more right in an objective view.
I hope this clears things up a bit, sorry if I am interrupting.
