I painted this piece a few months back for the back cover of the MidFur conbook, to announce the new reincarnation of MidFur!
The new convention will be January 10-12th 2014, in Melbourne at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Australia--and you'll definitely find me there!
Curious about the new name of the convention? It hasn't been decided yet! You can add your suggestion, and if it's chosen, you will win a life time membership to the convention!

*belated rely* Jackals and coyotes are in the same genus, 'Canis', according to modern taxonomy. It was suggested in the early 19th Century that they be in separate genuses because jackals had a dental feature that other canids didn't, but the genus name was changed from 'Thos' to 'Canis'.
hehe ... if you only knew why I am chuckling ...
Nice work, BTW!
Nice work, BTW!
This reminds me of Stargate. I particularly like the corner of blue sky and its light.
I have such a strange urge to play werewolf the apocalypse all of a sudden...
Very nice. The anthro hieroglyphics are a nice touch. ;)
Wow ive been waiting for your to do an Egyptian piece like this this is absolutly epic
I wondered who did this pic! The back cover doesnt have any signature/water mark..so I was curious. (probly obvious to most people.. but I was stumped)
How appropriate. The feline at the foot of the royal dog. That's a good kitty.
Love how you have captured the imagery. It is majestic as a statue should be.
I would love to commission a pic from you. Are you taking commissions?
You make the most beautiful stuff that I wish I could have printed for my wall.
Im not looking up Anubis's skirt! Im not looking up Anubis's skirt! X< Im not-......ok i am. :3 lol. XP
You've really captured that egyptian feel to this pic and you still have that realistic touch! :P Amazing!

If I will have money I'm gonna bought comics from you, sorry for that I live in sick country
Just amazingly beautiful and detailed work as always! Did you actually write things in the heiroglyphs at all? haha
Very nice. I have a great interest in ancient history and this kind of art always appeals to me.
Damn this is one amazing painting! I'm a sucker for Egyptian themes. <3
ANUUUBIS

Amazing work!!!
I feel like I learned so much more about light and shadow just by staring at this. Good lord.
holybloodofgod that cat is sexy! And the perspective on this is awesome, makes the statue look rightly huge!
Just gotta say. this is utterly astonishing. You two never disappoint.
I love the lighting in this peice. So much detail too. Great work :D
Awwwrrr...if only I lived in Australia. :C And AMAZING piece btw. I Love Anubis! :3
Ooh, way to keep nice purity of tone despite the complementary scheme. Very nice, and beautifully lit u_u
Also, dat cat <3
Also, dat cat <3
Lovely texture of the stone effect in this one, and the light and shadows from the lamp! FUNNESS!
This is simply gorgeous! I love all the details in the way the light bends and the heiroglyphs and textures, wonderful :)
MELCON powered by Blotch. Your name must be named in the convention title by law. In fact, why don't they just give the lifetime membership to you?
amazing the texture and shadows of the stone work alone are jaw dropping. But the feline is amazing, i just love how the shadows fall through out his musculature and his demeanor is adorable. You both always produce such beautiful works
this is the most amazing, beautiful work of art i have ever seen. I want to fullsize it, frame it, and stick it on my wall! How on earth did you do this?! You are amazing!
Do you use references for the hieroglyphs? And if yes, what did you use?
I like it, as I do much of your art. This one reminds me of Howard Pyle and the Brandywine School movement for some reason.
also... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU again for this amazing piece!!!!!
