So you gave up on the greatest game franchise of the last half decade simply because a larger company that is known for financing good games bought Bioware, gave them a large amount of fresh capital to work with, and said "Make an awesome game"? How'd you take it when Activision bought up Blizzard? Or how about when Black Isle fell apart, because no one actually gave them any money to get things moving along?
You do realize that as of ME2 and 3, they actually increased the number of armor permutations, as well as made each weapon more distinct from its counterparts in terms of appearance, rather than it just being a reskin and different stats. Bioware was already doing DLC long before they were ever bought by EA. If you'd ever played any of their iterations of Neverwinter Nights, you'd be aware of that as well. And in fact, Bioware was in charge of the game's development. They had to clear stuff with EA obviously, but the relationship is no different than a movie distributor and the director. Do you think Christopher Nolan was given carte blanche to just spend WB's money and they just pray he doesn't fuck it all up? You need to whine less, and actually learn how stuff happens. We're currently in what would be a proper gaming golden age (assuming we ignore the fact most games have paper thin stories), and you're whining because of some imagined slight by EA, despite the fact that they've demonstrated numerous times that they do pay attention to what their fanbase wants, because when the fanbase is happy, their pockets are full.
It wasn't really a hidden option, and in all fairness, the only ending that wouldn't have reeked of deus ex machina for me woulda been the one where everyone dies, since there's no feasible way to actually overcome the Reapers with the way the Council races ignore the threat until it's doing a Cthulu impersonation on their homeworlds.
... sooooo... basically, "BWAA, I WANTED A HAPPY ENDING."
That's it, right? ... just that.
No wonder you have a pony for an avatar and have some sort of aversion to some of the greatest rpgs of the modern age, and seem to think you have a firm grasp on "BIOWARE, GOOD, EA, BAD" even though you only seem to've played one, single Bioware game. ...
