This is one of the cabins I have the pleasure of going by when I go to work. This cabin was home to one of the many miners who lived up here. It is always amazing to think that a family of four lived here around about 1870s.

If you run across anything interesting let me know and I can probably value it for you. I do appraisals for the local public Television station when they have their antique fairs. I specialize in Glass, Pottery, Porcelain, Bottles, Toys, Marbles, Advertising, and Paper Goods. I would love to metal detect this site, as well as look for the trash dump to find the old bottles. Alas, I live in Tennessee. I found you through a fave on AJ Shepherd's page.
How about a set of marbles that are hand painted? I have a 6 of them and one if them has a rabbit painted on it.
Send me pics. My email is mike[at]phantomprintworks.com The rabbit one I have not seen before. Is this a painted china marble or a sulphide (inclusion in the marble)?
Around me, 1880 through 1910 was a boom time for logging. Thousands of people living in remote camps, often for months at a time. It had to be a rough life, even though they weren't nearly as remote as out there. Still, if there are no roads and no transport, 20 miles is as good as 200!
