It fits its name well.
I can't fully create a scenario for this, it fits into too many situations.

I imagine the war has already been won. A necromancer bringing the dead back to life, darkness is ready to envelope the many kingdoms that inhabit the land. The music is played in a future reenactment of the winning battle of the war. The necromancer in the lines with the full intention to take over the land and corrode it to his or her new twisted imagination.
Everyone cheers as the necromancer is slayed. Overpowered and held down by his or her own ultimate weapon. Number one rule of necromancy is never create something more powerful than yourself.
All of the undead creatures fall back into their rotting states and are no longer sustained by magic, the final creature that had taken out the Necromancer was a new form of magic that implemented putting a soul into the body of a deceased.
The fresh soul without the magic rested in peace and is now praised for its deeds of heroism, in a more pleasant to the eyes statue form of the young hero that the soul was extracted from.

Necromancy is something to fear, but with the kingdoms guardian, they will never need to worry about the dark magic again.
