I scribbled this out a couple years ago in the throes of a manic fit, when I was neglecting everything in pursuit of my Russian studies. And when I say neglecting everything, it was truly almost everything. On a whim I learned the Cyrillic alphabet in two weeks... two really solid weeks too, four hours of practice a day, all on my own and without any sort of guide at all. I'm a little hazy now on the details of how I learned the Cyrillic alphabet in two weeks (I seem to recall just trying to read little words on Russian websites and putting two and two together), but that should give you an idea of why this was in my sketchbook. Crayzay.
I thought I should resurrect it and give it to my therapists (I have one for talking and one for medication), because it might be fun to have art on their walls done by a certifiable crazy person. I have to change my signature to be HIPAA compliant though, or they might frown on me. :D

Спасибо. ^^ Я честно хотела закончить эту картину, потому что... почему нет.
The dragon is wreak havoc in my brain. Plays my emotion, a never ending game ...

So. As amazing as this picture is[I will give epic props to that]...that open spot in front of the fox's muzzle, the sky background, possibly...kind of...sort of...just looks a little bit like a male's groin. Ever so slightly. >.>
And the other open spot to the background, where the dragon curls it's front half together, looks like a mini dragon...horse thing. O.o
Cool stuff :D I thought Russia was the bear, though? It's a good picture either way :)
No, the title and the work are based on the phrase, "Chasing the Dragon". From Wikipedia: "Another more metaphorical use of the term "chasing the dragon" refers to the elusive pursuit of the ultimate high in the usage of some particular drug."
Ahh, I see. I tend to avoid drug culture as best I can so I wouldn't know ^^' heh.
Ironically (or perhaps intentionally) heroin abuse is a big problem in Russia, though cheaper drugs like Krokodil are the ones that become more known internationally as an issue... it's like a cheaply made heroin, all synthetic, that eventually rots away the flesh of the user. :(
Oh cool (well not COOL, but you know), no I didn't know that. Interesting fact of the day; thank you for sharing. :)
Don't care about the drug-culture reference. This pic is worthy of an insta-fave.
