~Trellian
Hey Everyone! I’m Trellian Duck!
Over a month with an actual FA account instead of just peeking in I think I’m ready for a bit more than my intro profile. So, here it is!
Interesting facts:
I am a miniature gaming geek who plays various mini games from star trek attack wing, to warhammer underworlds. These days I’m mostly playing small scale games because my schedule doesn’t allow for full 40k or WWI mini gaming.
My FA filter is set to general. If I’m watching you, I assume all your work is SFW because I can’t see otherwise. (I’m certain I’m missing something but blissfully unaware)
Claire Omar Musser was a musician and engineer who built an instrument out of melted down meteorites that he collected over his lifetime. The instrument is called a Celestaphone! (Not a fact about me, but very cool.)
Dramatic Backstory: (not really)
I am a musician by trade, but have always enjoyed drawing. Whenever I got the urge to pick up a sketch pad and give it a go, my interest lasted for about a week or two before I got frustrated and moved on to another project despite decades of training in another art where I KNEW the best way to improve was just steady practice every day.
Then, I got a new i-pad for music work and decided I’d get an art app and stylus to try my hand at this again. After adjusting to drawing on a device instead of paper, and figuring out how to stop my hand from making unwanted marks, I found I was enjoying myself.
Suddenly, I was able to fully erase lines I didn’t like and correct them. This made a HUGE difference for me. I was able to create things I was actually happy with, color them, start working on shading without getting my fingers messed up, and was able to even draw during the short downtime I had at work in little bits just by switching apps and using the device I was already using rather than having to pull out the pad and pencil kit.
Once I had some things I was actually proud of, I FINALLY started up an FA account and here I am today! Over a month in to my at least one drawing a day pledge and with this being updated on may 10th, exactly 1 month on FA.
My art is entirely self indulgent. I am drawing my own interests and my own characters. I have a little world in my head with them and their personalities, so if you see Alca(Grey rat F), Sezin(Grey Rat M) Liz (Blue lizard F), Aher(Purple Heron M) Clyde(hare M), Roxy(Fox F), The Big Cheese (Brown Rat M), etc…, there are stories in my mind for the drawings that involve them in the modern setting, how they met, what they do, etc. And of course, Trellian (Duck M) is my own character insert into this world that is placed when necessary.
For now, I’m also creating drawing themes or challenges for every week to push myself to improve certain skills or techniques. It has been very helpful and I highly recommend themed practice.
I will also be posting some of my older stuff to show my development and maybe inspire people by creating a record of what that journey looks like. If you’re reading this and looking at my art, thank you and I hope you have a great day.
Added note: I will be posting works in progress sometimes. When the work is completed, the WIP post will be moved to scraps and still viewable there if you ever want to see them.

Week 5
Last week was action poses. I got suplexes, and dancing. Kickboxing, boxing, sword fighters, a playground fight, and still managed to get some little side projects done as well. Overall a very successful week working on characters posed to be in motion. My shading improves every time I do it for a piece as well, though I still need to do work on objects versus light sources.
This week, my goal is to do selfie shots, or just generally characters from the front view. Most of what a have done is profile work with heads turned to the side but the thing I want to improve on this week, after I finish my last carryover project from last week, is entirely pictures where the character is directly facing front.
With my first month hurdle passed, I’m heading out today to get an actual apple pencil. My cheap little stylus has served me well and will always be my backup, but I told myself if I kept with it I would splurge for that little accessory despite the price. Thank you little stylus for what you have helped me accomplish! I highly recommend a ThreePlusLink (all one word) stylus if you’re looking to try out using one, and don’t want to go for the apple pencil initially when working on an Ipad.
As always, thank you to those who watch and fave what they see here. I hope you continue to enjoy the art as much as I have been enjoying making it.

In music, making a mistake just creates a new piece. Let’s try not to create too many new pieces today though
