Character Bios Part 1
So I decided to give some bios for some of my characters so that everyone, including newcomers, will know how they behave. This first part will go over the main characters that I draw the most often and have a good enough personality.
Grover Grizzly: As his name implies, he's a grizzly bear and the main protagonist. He's the easy-going, yet adventuresome leader of his friends and a voice of reason, even though he can be self-conscious and dim at times. His favorite food is honey-glazed salmon.
Maple: A squirrel who's Grover Grizzly's houseguest, often accompanying him during his adventures. He's quick-witted, brash, sarcastic and raring to go, unlike his "bear buddy," as he often calls him. His small size, however, allows him to see small things the bigger animals wouldn't see otherwise.
Sidney: A red kangaroo who is Grover Grizzly's best friend and second in-command. He's often the clown of the group, as he is accident-prone and klutzy. In fact, his main gag is a boomerang that he keeps throwing and he often fails to catch. He can be hubristic, too, and is known to pick fights with his fellow animals. Also, despite the fact that kangaroos hop and hail from Australia, Sidney walks upright and talks with a Cockney accent instead.
Jonah: A fat harbor seal with a very happy-go-lucky disposition. He has an appetite that, some claim, is as big as a whale. He is often having some food on him; most of the time, it's seafood-related. The main low point in Jonah's life that he can recall was his parents drowning after a cruise gone horribly wrong, with he and his Uncle Dover being the only survivors. He has since left Pinniped Bay to work at the Timberstone Zoo. Now he performs in a marine mammal show with his friend, Clifton the sea lion.
Pongo: An orangutan who's often cynical, sarcastic and embittered. But what do you expect when you have to deal with some disobedient monkeys? Of all the main characters, Pongo is the most negative-brained, often having doubts over the slightest thing. He still has a kind heart, when he chooses to show it, of course.
Rene: A red fox who has moved into the Timberstone Zoo and is Grover Grizzly's next-door neighbor. He's the bookworm of the group and he's rarely seen without one. In fact, some ideas he comes up with are inspired by some books he reads.
Pranker: A river otter with a red nose that is the jokester of the group. He is still well-meaning and kind, despite his mischievous side. Often though, he falls victim to his own pranks, and he doesn't like when someone pulls a cruel joke on him.
Jezebel: A striped hyena and the main antagonist. She's a bully with a capital B. Sadistic, vain, manipulative, and even aggressive, she poses a threat to everyone, even other hyenas. She insults people, robs them blind, tricks the gullible, crushes small animals (literally) flat, the list goes on. She can often tempt people into a fight, only to rig it before it even begins, making her the winner anyway. She's the reason the Zoo Scouts even formed in the first place, and they often come up with ways to foil her schemes.
Matilda: A female bilby who is the "dog" of the group. In fact, she even behaves like one and is owned by the kangaroo family. She's playful, loyal and prone to mischief.
