Ah, yes - this sadly happened about a month ago to another friend of mine. You likely aren't going to get much (if any) help from Discord themselves. This is the best course of action - let everyone know, then just create a new account. They have some extra security features that can be turned one depending on what your comfortable with, such as MFA or a key. If sticking with just a password, I would suggest nothing less than 24 characters.

Hopefuly they help you buuuut Discord is known to NOT recover accounts at all, so I reccomend making a new one and settling in as the new account. Don't make it something like "gideon 2" or "Gideon backup", just make a name you can stick as the new one. If you have a Discord server, consider making a new one or see if someone within the server can invite you in to at least hang out with your peeps.

Invite a new account into your servers and then give your new account admin privileges before you delete or remove the hacked one, that way you wont lose any info.

The admins of Discord dont know how long it will take to sort it out. That is the kind of stuff that makes me put little faith in any platform these days. Like seriously, they head up the platform and have no idea how long it will take to fix a problem?

What is funnier, I and a few people I know all have MMO accounts with the same game. They all use 2fa to "protect their accounts. I have not yet. An all their accounts have been hacked multiple times over the last few years. Mine has not, but then again, my account doesnt have much to it. lol

make sure to check your authorized apps section o in your profile settings. sometimes scammers add things to it so they can retake accounts

Cybersafety tip
Have a passphrase over a password. Using at least an uppercase, a special character and a number, increases the time to hack a passphrase by thousands.
