Got a New Job!
Posted a week agoVery exciting! Slightly more money, much better area, 10hr shift, 4 days a week so I don't really know how it's going to affect arts.
It's been slow. I was doing extra application stuff all week, then I got a wicked fever.
Hopefully I can get some good arts done now that the deal is sssealed.

Good Furry Books?
Posted a month agoDoes anybody know any?
Not necessarily written by furries, but you know what I mean: books featuring anthros. More mature stuff than Narnia, dope as it is.
Only one I can really think of is, The Builders by D. Polansky. That was awesome.

Kung Poo Panda 4
Posted a month agoSome random spoiler thoughts:
- The pacing is truly FUBAR. It feels like I'm watching at 1.5 speed. 20 minutes in felt like the movie was half-over. It negatively impacts everything, drama, comedy, tension. Sheesh.
- Awkafina was surprisingly not the worst, but mostly because the other problems overshadow her. Zhen is really cute though.
- It sucks The Five are voiced by big name celebrities because they get less and less to do in each movie. You have to pay them all to come back, to the point where they aren't even in this one until the credits.
- The animation is really inconsistent. Some of it looks on par with 2 or 3, but some of the models are truly arse. It's the eyes. The goats in the intro look like they're from a TV show.
- None of the humor is landing. That's mostly from the awful pacing, but a lot of it is just poorly written. The pelican/fish guy got a chuckle.
- 4 really wants your nostalgia feels. Very desperate. Po literally winks at the audience while making a KFP1 reference. Stop.
- In a series with amazing, show-stealing villain intros this one... pushes a guy down the stairs. It's a joke for a reason.
It's so disappointing because some of the performers are getting noticeably old, who knows if they'll make it to another movie. Also this is the movie they blew the big "Villains Return" on? Damn. It sucks they all show up only to get bodied by this new Chameleon loser.
Dreamworks why you so inconsistent?

(Another) New Tablet
Posted 3 months agoSo it's going to take a few days to get commissions cooking (* ̄3 ̄)╭
After being disappointed by my last two Huions (an Inspiroy 16 then Kamvas Pro 16) I decided to buy anothernew tablet: an XP Pen Artist 22 Pro.
I think the Huion problem has to do with the tilt function. My old Kamvas GT221, with no tilt function, worked perfectly for like 4 years. Loved that chonker. No accuracy issues, reliable pen results.
But the tilt-enabled pens feel really bad to me, very inconsistent AND innaccurate. I often had to lift the pen off the surface to 'reset' it to where it should be.
Bleh. Well XP Pen's ... pen gets rave reviews, so hopefully it's more reliable?

Defeating Burnout
Posted 3 months agoDrawing was stressing me out for a while and I think I finally figured out why.
For at least a year I've been way too dependent on pose references. They're good to have sometimes, of course, but there were so many times where I wouldn't even start drawing until I had until I dug up the exact pose reference image I wanted. And that's stupid. It feels robotic and unsatisfying to stick to references so much, you know?
I can't believe I did it for so long. It was definitely one of those "you can't break out of a cycle until you realize you're in one" things. It doesn't allow for all those hashtag #happy accidents you get from just sketching ideas and iterating on your own. Plus the more you stick to refs the less you're flexing your imagination skills, right? I've been free drawing all week (starting with the Death pic) and it feels so much better. Just coming up with ideas and hashing them out.
So yeah if you're feeling burnt out or like drawing isn't fun anymore that might be why. Free your mind.
P.S: Oh I also started drawing without music and it's so much better for me! Much more focus. Try that too if you want.

Posted 4 months agoVideo's Game
10. Sonic 3 & Knuckles (1994) - Kind of a nostalgia pic tbh. This was one of my favorite platformers growing up, but I know that it holds up because my best friend just got around to playing it and wouldn't stop raving about it (and I was like "Yah I told you 1.5 decades ago fool"). It's just the lush visuals, that soundtrack, the feel. It's got that righteous 90's edgy vibe that I forever <3
9. Mother 3 (2006) - It's Earthbound but actually fun to play! Nah, the real star is of course the writing. Itoi pulled out all the stops for this one. Countless fun, quirky bits of dialog and animations. But it's emotional too. I cried, you cried , we all cried. Also Rope Snake <3
8. Silent Hill 3 (2003) - Forget SH2, this is the real shit. I ingest a lot of horror media and Heather is probably my favorite horror heroine ever. Such a believable teenager. They balanced the cockiness, vulnerability, and confusion of that age so well. So many teen characters are either too aloof or too impulsive but Heather is just a relatable kid. She also wields a mace and SMG. 3 has some of my favorite visuals and settings in the series too. I still listen to the soundtrack all the time. I was taking the piss before, I get why people like Silent Hill 2 more, but 3 is the one for me.
7. Metal Gear Solid 3 (2004) - What can I say, I like threes. MGS3 feels like one of the overall funnest entries. 2 has some slog parts, 4 is... weird, 5 is VERY fun but incomplete. There are just so many things to do in MGS3. I feel like I'm still learning about hidden ways to manipulate guards and the environment. And could the story be any more pitch perfect? It's the most gloriously cheesy Cold War spy movie that never existed. Yet it made me cry! Hideous Kojimbo you've done it again.
6. Final Fantasy IX (2000) - I'll be honest the only reason FF9 is this low is because of how slow the battles are. I replayed it a year or two ago and it was really grating on me by the end even with the speedup option in the PC version. But aside from that FF9 is just amazing. I don't think I've seen another RPG explore its themes as well or thoroughly as this game does. Pretty much every main character is dealing with mortality or existentialism in a profound way. It's so good. It's got Freya Crescent, I wanted to be her so bad. On replay I found it kind of unfortunate that stealing is almost required to get ahead, but the ability system is addicting. Always hunting down every equipment and synthesis material. Top tier FF.
5. Earth Defense Force 5 (2017) - My EDF story is pretty funny. I played 2017 (The first US release) a ton in my friend's basement. We loved it. Then I kind of forgot the series existed until I heard that EDF5 was really good. But it's not really good, it's pretty much perfect. More weapons, more classes, and it looks as good as I could want and EDF game to look :P Buckets of incredible dialogue. My favorites (aside from the 'humanoid aliens' of course) being the diatribes on the economy and unemployment in the middle of a giant monster apocalypse. So much joy playing this fugging game.
4. Bloodborne (2015) - I played Bloodbarn alongside my roommate and it was really fun because he was bad at parrying but I was really good at it so he would always be struggling behind me. Pfft, and he didn't even have to fight the Bloody Crow. But just sharing that experience really enhanced it. It's got some of the best Lovecraft imagery in video gamez. There's goofy blue aliens and werewolves. You can beat the game with a pimp cane and a steampunk shotgun. What more do you want?
3. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (2014) - Isaac had to be on here given the hundreds of hours I've spent in it. It has the same appeal as gambling really. You start a run and see where it leads. Sometimes you're overpowered, sometimes you struggle the whole time, sometimes you find a crazy new synergy. And you always want to look in one more room in the hope it has the one item that completely breaks your run. The big appeal to Isaac is how the game lets you break it in many ways. There are just so many variables in a run. Cards, pills, items, breakables. Also the tons and tons of secrets to uncover. I've unlocked most of it by now, but it was a fun ride.
2. Devil May Cry V (2019) - TheGamingBrit said it best, the confidence and totality of DMCV is almost overwhelming. Every detail of it oozes smokin' sexy style. I've been a DMC fan since 1, but like with MGS, every game has had some weird, off-putting section or choices, not 5 though.. Everything is honed to a razor edge. Enemies that are fun to fight, great bosses, super-satisfying techniques. It looks beautiful and everybody is sexy. And the writing too, so satisfying to see everything come together.
1. Killer7 (2005) - Suda51 has said that he feels he may never top Killer7 and so far for me he hasn't. Nobody's saying Killer7 has the most fun or original game-play, but when it comes to the feeling of playing Killer7 it's just one of my favorite things ever. Some kind of Lynch-esque dream experience. I think it comes down to how Shinji Mikami stuck up for Suda and encouraged him to just do his own thing even though he was relatively unknown. Because Killer7 feels like pure, uncut Suda with all of the endearing writing, unique interface, and game feel he's known for.
Honorable Mentions: Drakengard (2003) - The gameplay is so bad I couldn't really put this on the list, but it was one of my first genre deconstructions ever and it is amazing at being that. Also canon man x dragoness ship. Chrono Trigger (1995) - My first RPG ever. Super likable cast, legendary soundtrack, fun tech system. Rivals of Aether (2017) - Get outta here Smash Bros. Lag-timate. Rivals is super snappy to play and stars cute anthros so I mean *dabs* It's a shame it's so unwelcoming to newbies. I used to be decent enough (with the grass wolf) but y'know it would probably be more popular if getting online wasn't a guaranteed ticket to 0-to-Death Town.

Top 5 (Animated) TV Shows | BadRecs
Posted 4 months ago5. Courage: The Cowardly Dog (1999-2002) - There's something really comfy about Courage, isn't there? When I rewatched it this year I was struck by how endearing it is. Even in the darkest episodes there'll be some cute touch or heartfelt moment that stands out. It's a lovable, goofy world, y'know? Also the music, goddamn!! There are so many iconic, one-episode songs and themes.
4. The Amazing World of Gumball (2011-2019) - This is probably the cartoon I've laughed most consistently at and I really appreciate the variety and dedication of the animation. Great character and situational comedy. Oh and the under the radar jokes. I'm still amazed they got that Gumball blowing Alan The Balloon joke in there.
3. Sonny Boy (2021) - I just love the direction and animation for this sci-fi Alice in Wonderland story. Yes it's technically an isekai, but like the most thoughtful one. My favorite thing is probably the subtleties of the characters. They all act very realistically, no monologues here. Great philosophical explorations. Rajdani, best boy. "Nothing matters in this world, but once in a while, cool things do happen" Oh and the art direction is super simple and neat.
2. Xavier: Renegade Angel (2007-2009) - I've never seen another show with this density of jokes and wordplay. It's amazing. I still quote it all the time (to the confusion of my friends). Some jokes are delightfully stupid, but others are deceptively clever. You never know what you're going to get, aside from Xavier making everything worse. That much is constant. "I would have gone with the grinder."
1. Hunter X Hunter (2011) - It's flippin' good. I love the thoughtfulness of the power system. Every fight is more of a puzzle with both sides trying to fish for weaknesses without giving away their own. Gon is a fascinating protagonist and his broship with Killua is strong enough to carry us through the whole show. The character designs can get a little ridiculous, but you can't say they aren't memorable! The animation never slouches for the whole run and the sasuga is damn good. Honestly this show would be lower on the list without the Chimera Ant Arc which has to be one of my favorite -things- ever. A sprawling treatise on the nature of humanity starring furries? I'm there every time. "Ugh, it's so long and slow." Get outta here.
Honorable Mention: Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (2008) I remember the 2nd and 3rd season getting a little weird, but that first season is phenomenal. What an awesome atmosphere, Gurren Lagann (2007) Rewatched recently and was surprised how well it help up. Infectious hype. I stan Kittan.

I Want to Love Monkey Wrench...
Posted 4 months agoBut I don't yet. Reposted from my Tumblr
Off the top the biggest hurdle is that I don't like either of our main characters. Shrike is annoying, Beebs is very boring, and I don't love either design. I also can't help but see them as pale copies of Ren Hoëk and Jet Black respectively. They're just too on point y'know? In fact the premise calls to mind like three different anime (Bebop, Outlaw Star, Space Dandy) and MW hasn't done enough to set it self apart.
The writing really isn't doing it for me. The humor in particular. Is Ren-- Shrike's gag of getting words wrong and mispronouncing things supposed to be funny, charming? It's just not hitting. There's also this trend of saccharine characters with goofy, baby voices that feels like something from the early 2010s internet humor, it's a really weird choice. I don't think I've chuckled at the show yet which is a problem because it's clearly aiming for humor much of the time. Maybe it's the voice acting?
The music is also detracts from the show, imo. Not much more to add. It often feels out of place or used improperly which isn't what you want from a soundtrack.
It's not all bad of course. The animation is good overall, lots of fun little flourishes. Some quality direction too. The creator clearly has an affinity for hands to which is fuggin' #relatable. I never get enough of that.
Like I said I want to like this show, I'm always hungry for quality furry content, but it's just not there yet for me. I would really need to see some engaging, compelling writing for the main duo to get drawn in. There are a lot, a huge number, of broke, mis-matched bounty hunter shows and I hope Monkey Wrench can stand out.
P.S: The waifu game is off to a banger start though. Sheeesh!

Posted 4 months agoNO SPOILERS!
I just wanted to gush about my favorite things and plead for you to check them out :)
There are a few more that I'll space out. These aren't ironclad or anything, just for funsies.
Honorable Mentions: Dekalog (1988) 10 great Polish dramas loosely based around the Ten Commandments, for the artsy farts, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2007-2010) Influential as fug. I don't think they get enough credit for inspiring like 90% of modern internet humor.
5. Garth Merenghi's Darkplace (2004) - I do, in fact, like things that aren't heady, tragic dramas! These six episodes are funnier than entire actual series. The conceit itself is so clever and funny: A failed TV show based on an egotist Stephen King-type with commentary from the delusional in-universe stars. But mostly I love the varied intentional production flaws. The show gets funnier the more you know about film/ TV production. It's all on Youtube btw, go watch plz.
4. Mr. Robot (2015 - 2019) - I can't talk about anything past season one without spoiling, but I can get some general thoughts down. This show has probably the highest number of memorable moments/ scenes of any show I've seen (due to the unmistakable cinematography/ direction). The death scenes in particular are sudden and effective. The performances are excellent across the board. The creator wears his inspirations on his sleeve, but that only makes the show more interesting. It's a hodgepodge of so many things you've seen before warped into his vision.
3. Better Call Saul (2015 - 2022) - My problem with Breaking Bad was that I hated Walter very early on so the rest of the show was a bit of a slog with only Jesse and some others to really care about. Saul (Jimmy) is a much more interesting guy to get behind, IMO. Y'know, he doesn't -always- choose the most petulant, prideful option available like Waltuh. I find the ethical quandaries and themes in BCS much more interesting too. Jim and Kim are a great ship, the ending is perfect. I entered the show skeptical that I'd care about Saul Goodman, but damn Bob Odenkirk killed it so hard. That "I thought you were proud of me." Gets me every time. Also I love how Howard's role evolves throughout the show. Or our perception of it anyway ~
2. Twin Peaks (1990 - 2017) - If we were just talking about seasons one and two it probably wouldn't be on this list, but with the addition of The Return it easily cracks the top 5. I don't really need to talk about Twin Peaks, do I? It changed the trajectory of television forever. It's a classic. Some people get really bent out of shape about The Return for understandable reasons, but I love every bit of it. If you like weird stuff, endearing characters, and coffee this is for you.
1. Dark (2017-2020) - Dark is one of the most underappreciated shows I've ever seen. I think that's because it's in German or because people mistake it for a Stranger Things clone, but it belongs in the Breaking Bad/ Sopranos/ The Wire conversation for sure. This is the best time travel story ever, period. Everything that you could want to see in a dramatic time travel story happens here. Unlike most shows, Dark's three seasons were planned meticulously from beginning to end before it aired. It isn't some show that hobbled from season to season racking up continuity errors, hiatuses, and early-installment weirdness. It tells one whole, intricate story. God, it's so good, just go watch it. It's on Netfux.
What do you think?
What about you tho?
I just wanted to gush about my favorite things and plead for you to check them out :)
There are a few more that I'll space out. These aren't ironclad or anything, just for funsies.
Honorable Mentions: Dekalog (1988) 10 great Polish dramas loosely based around the Ten Commandments, for the artsy farts, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2007-2010) Influential as fug. I don't think they get enough credit for inspiring like 90% of modern internet humor.

'Sona Shake-up!
Posted 5 months agoD.D is taking over Ayame's spot as the femsona!
No, it's not recency bias or anything like that. I've always felt like Ayame didn't quite gel with the rest of the gang. My design chops weren't where they are now. Part of it is her dark backstory since the 'BadRoy' universe has since settled into a comfy, slice-of-life vibe. Hers was a story I was really into at the time and I probably jumped her into the 'sona spot prematurely. If I could do it over again I would have made Ayame more tied in with the rest of the gang tone and background wise. Or made like an Ayame-verse. I could just retcon her, but I also like the development she's had up to now.
It's the designs too though. For some reason I'm rarely happy with how I draw Ayame. I've redesigned her twice and it just never clicks for some reason. It took a while for her to click with fans too, it seems, but D.D has had a much warmer reception. When it comes to how I want to represent myself Roy and D.D make a more approachable, fun pair I think.
Ayame and Momo aren't going anywhere though, I still love them. This is just for personal/ presentation purposes.

Carpal Tunnels and Apologies
Posted 8 months agoSo bad news. I'm 90% sure I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Numbness, tingling, waking up at 4am, the works. It's time to admit that I haven't had a very healthy relationship with art. I've been more or less addicted to drawing and the resulting affirmation which is a symptom of the problem I'll lay out in the next paragraph. Right now I'm in the 'lifestyle changes' phase of treatment so I can hopefully nip the syndrome in the bud. Got a new desk that should accommodate my long-ass arms better. I'm not quitting! I very much want to draw, but I need to get to a healthier head space with it, you know? Within a week or two maybe I can at least do some fun sketching.
Recently I had a phase of awakening where I realized that I have been consumed by pride for years. Not so much thinking "I'm the best" but the classic, Biblical flavor of feeling the need to have my way and deciding everyone and everything else to be beneath me. That is overwhelmingly common these days, but that's why they say pride is the worst sin. It's insidious and people find ways to justify continuing to live that way. I did. Anyway I've been making the rounds in my personal life to apologize for wrongdoing and I thought I'd do the same here.
On top of my unhealthy attitude toward art I have been increasingly resentful of you fans who frequently request similar things. Usually latex stuff. It's fair for me to feel that way, and to draw what I want to draw, but I had a shitty attitude about it and I apologize. Pride, like I said. It's not even that I didn't want to draw that stuff. It's just that as I've been trying to diversify my output I felt like a one-hit-wonder band only getting asked for their one thing. But that's not your fault and as long as my wrists don't fall off I'll try to be more accommodating in the future.
This is good though. Now that I've correctly identified my problems I can work on them. Just have to get through this painful healing period.
Thanks for reading this, and yes it hurt to write T_T Ice pack time.

My Arms Work!
Posted a year agoI don't want to jinx it, but I think the worst of the pain is behind me! There's still some soreness and stiffness, but that's expected when recovering from an injury. I can finally start easing back into regular draws. Are you excited? I am.
That was the most boring 2+ weeks ever. I couldn't draw, type, or play vidcons so I would just come home from work and watch stuff allllllll night. Stuff like...
- Cabin Fever (Original): Surprisingly weird and enjoyable /10
- Shin Ultraman: Not bad, but the plot structure was kind of unsatisfying. Felt like three or four episodes strung together. Also I missed the corny "Hah!" "Yuh!" grunts /10
- Fringe (all of it): Man, I don't miss episodic TV. There were some awesome aspects of the show, but they always felt the need to do the once-per-episode shtick and I just got tired of waiting for the underlying plot to take the fore. Also I couldn't stand Walter as-written. I hate memory-loss/ amnesia/ mind-control plots because the writer can contrive anything just by having a character suddenly remember things /10
- Dekalog: 10 glasses of Polish milk /10!
- 101 Dalmatian Street: Man it sucks Disney didn't give this show a chance. I loved it, super cute. Diesel, Dolly, and Dawkins top tier. I want to anthro them /10
- Freddy Got Fingered: Hilarious shit-post of a movie /10
- Kamen Rider Kabuto: Dropped like 15 eps in because, like Ex-Aid, most of the main characters are thoroughly unlikeable assholes. There's a way to do unbearable genius characters, but this ain't it. Too bad because I liked the suits and general concept /10

Let's Share Media Hot Takes!
Posted a year agoGive me your unpopular opinions.
- Skinamarink stinks. I love weird, experimental horror, but this was just a chore to watch. And for all the unusual filmmaking the scares are Insidious-tier jumpers. Also maybe it's because I had a cold at the time, but the flashing light of the TV was really obnoxious. One of the very few movies I've dropped midway through. I have no idea how this is blowing up so much. Horror is really weird today, because all it takes is two or three big influencer/ personalities watching something and going "OMG, horror will never be the same." and then every wannabe pops in to say the same thing and then it's everywhere.
- I don't like Undertale. Or any self-aware, quirky RPGs after Mother 3 really. I just find them so played out (Mother 3 is 10/10 GOAT, though). I got a few hours into Undertale and nothing was hooking me at all.
- I like Westworld, including the poopy seasons. Ok well maybe not Season 3 but even then the sci-fi stuff looked so cool. Everyone says "Season 1 is the only good one," But I don't know, there's something about how the hosts were handled that made the whole series really fascinating to me. The evolving relations between humans and fake humans. Season 4 almost had a Yoko Taro feel, especially that ending. Kind of hoping they get that 5th season somehow.
- Death Stranding was the most fun I had with any game that year. Comfy as fug.
- Star Wars Andor was at best OK. It's easily the best thing Disney has done with the franchise, but it has a lot of problems: Primarily that Cassian is the most boring part of his own show. He's just a tiny little action guy, not much leading man charisma. Also the prison detour was really pointless. The Redditor stand-in character (you know the one) was really weird too. I thought he'd be a fun, crazy rival to Cassian, but he spends half the season eating cereal in his awful mom's house.
- I found Nier: Automata really underwhelming. I've been a Yoko Taro fan since Drakengard, so his vision paired with actual, decent gameplay sounded like a dream come true. But the story feels like a retread of OG Nier, with less heart. Maybe it's just me, but I was never really endeared to 2B, 9s, or the other one. Especially compared to: Papa Nier, a violent hussy, the gay skeleton, and A Talking Book?!? Plus like I said the world is already basically over as of OG Nier so seeing these Androids and robots trying to make sense in a human-less world felt like more of the same theme-wise. Oh and the gameplay wasn't very engaging. It feels good to play, but ultimately you're just swinging away and dodging sometimes. No fancy character-action personality to it.
- Rivals of Aether is more fun to play than Smash Ultimate >:]
- Kakuranger is my favorite Sentai. Yes, more than Toqger, Shinkenger, and Gokaiger. The weird, subversive 90's attitude, Jiraiya speaking perfect English, Sasuke's awful tie-dye outfit. It's mwa, so good.
- I don't like the Evil Dead movies. I appreciate the filmmaking and innovation, but idk I need more plot for a movie. I haven't seen 2 in a while, but I remember thinking it was more like a directing highlight reel than a film with a beginning, middle, and end.
- I couldn't get into The Expanse after hearing nothing but praise for years. After four episodes I realized I didn't like or care about any of the characters or plot developments. I hear it gets better in season 2, but idk I feel like I should be at least somewhat intrigued after four episodes.
- I love Kamen Rider Kiva. I get why people don't, but all the weirdness just kind of clicked for me.
- Silent Hill 3 > Silent Hill 2. There, I said it. They're both great, but Heather is such an enjoyable protagonist that I always come back to 3 more. The best teenage character: She has that cocky, flippant teen attitude, but she still gets scared and insecure sometimes like a real person. Plus I liked the 'normal places outside Silent Hill get spooky' approach. It always bugs me that SH2 is always in the 'Best horror games' conversation, but never 3.

Top 10 YouTube Poop Collabs
Posted a year agoI've been a big fan of Youtube Poops for over a decade! Surely ~10% of you know what those are and only 2% of those actually enjoy them, but whatever I want to gush and spread awareness of quality YTPs. So if you've always been curious these are a great place to start. Some are hours long though so y'know, take them in chunks.
If you aren't aware, a Youtube Poop is a heavily-edited comedy video using existing media as a base. You can do just about anything with the right editing so the quality and style of them varies wildly from creator to creator. They're an art form really, just a modern, computer-based one. And the big advantage of collaborations is there are many different poopers involved so you can pick out whoever you like most and follow them.
It's really complicated to discuss something like YTP because they're so frenetic and packed with detail so I'm just going to leave notes below.
I guess it's worth noting that there will be many moments of obscenity and/or offensiveness.
10. Shaun of the Fred - A Scooby YTP collab, by TheRealXboxNerd
Main source: Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island
Favorite Entrant: Waltman13, Percy66 c, Baiocoislandfilms
Favorite Quote: "Sorry Daphne, I murdered you... Bitch!"
- The first of a trio of Scooby collabs. A fun aspect of these is that they're 'canon' to each other. So there are gags and callbacks in the sequels. They're all good, but this one is probably the least consistent.
9. YTP Collab: Outtagascar, by B&B Films
Main source: Madagascar
Favorite Entrants: 1sonicthe, B&B Films, Shooting Films
Favorite Quote: "San Diego, San Diego, Canada--WHAT?!"
8. The Mysteries' End - A Scooby YTP collab, by TheRealXboxNerd
Main source: Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders
Favorite Entrants: Lineofyellow5, Fishtitan 64
Favorite Quote: "Their loss is our lunch."
7. Malt Fuzz - A Scooby YTP collab, by TheRealXboxNerd
Main source Scooby-Doo! And The Witch's Ghost
Favorite Entrant: Steam Attack, Lineofyellow5, TheRealXboxNerd
Favorite Quote: "The town must pay me 25,000 quid!"
- Maybe I'm biased because I live in New England, but I love this one. The intro is pretty funny and the gags just really hit here. Steam Attack's entry had me ugly laughing.
6. It's About Time Collab, by NPCarlson
Main source: Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
Favorite Entrants: Shooting Films, NPCarlson
Favorite Quote: "I've got a backstage pass for you to get up my ass!"
5. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Collab, by Silvanatorr
Main source: Fresh Prince episode: "I, Bowl Buster"
Favorite Entrants: Scatterbrain, Silvanatorr, NottaWotta, Dimitri Petrov
Favorite Quote: "You're dad's not straight! The man's hopped up on a 20 year old twink!"
4. KOTH YTP Collaboration #3, by Orpheusftw
Main source: King of The Hill episode "Returning Japanese"
Favorite Entrants: Likety, Orpheusftw
Favorite Quote: "America! ... Grandma!"
- This collab has lots of old heavy-hitters at the height of their salience in case you want to get into the classics. Orpheus, Likety, Kroboproductions.
3. Grand Galloping Collab, by Likety
Main source: MLP:FiM Season 1
Favorite Entrants: Avojaifnot, Danfango700, Krobo
Favorite Quote: "Hehehe-he, you couldn't hit a baaaarn." "Hah! (Just did!)"
- Behold, a white horse. My first collab, Likety edited it so it's dank, and I just love MLP as a source for some reason.
2. YTP - Peter-Man 2, by Jimmy Davis
Main source: Spider-man 2
Favorite Entrants: Jallerbo, Jimmy Davis, Brickertown, Pair-a-Sox
Favorite Quote: "THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT..."
- This one (and the first Peter Man) are pretty wild because they cover basically the entire movie in sequence, passing the baton to the next pooper along the way. A good spread of recently active poopers.
1. The Weird Nintendo YTP Collab, by CoryTheNorm
Main source: Obscure Nintendo media (Commercials, cartoons, promos, etc)
Favorite Entrants: Clorox Corner, Silvanatorr, Toaster Water, CoryTheNorm
Favorite Quote: "ThiS Is IT LoUiGi!"
- This collab blows my mind. It's SO long and yet the flow and quality are through the roof. CoryTheNorm went above and beyond to edit the segments together into a satisfying whole. There's barely a dry spell to be found. This is a great starter poop too because it's familiar-enough source material, and like I said the quality. Yeah, 11/10.

Main source Scooby-Doo! And The Witch's Ghost
Favorite Entrant: Steam Attack, Lineofyellow5, TheRealXboxNerd
Favorite Quote: "The town must pay me 25,000 quid!"
- Maybe I'm biased because I live in New England, but I love this one. The intro is pretty funny and the gags just really hit here. Steam Attack's entry had me ugly laughing.
6. It's About Time Collab, by NPCarlson
Main source: Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
Favorite Entrants: Shooting Films, NPCarlson
Favorite Quote: "I've got a backstage pass for you to get up my ass!"
5. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Collab, by Silvanatorr
Main source: Fresh Prince episode: "I, Bowl Buster"
Favorite Entrants: Scatterbrain, Silvanatorr, NottaWotta, Dimitri Petrov
Favorite Quote: "You're dad's not straight! The man's hopped up on a 20 year old twink!"
4. KOTH YTP Collaboration #3, by Orpheusftw
Main source: King of The Hill episode "Returning Japanese"
Favorite Entrants: Likety, Orpheusftw
Favorite Quote: "America! ... Grandma!"
- This collab has lots of old heavy-hitters at the height of their salience in case you want to get into the classics. Orpheus, Likety, Kroboproductions.
3. Grand Galloping Collab, by Likety
Main source: MLP:FiM Season 1
Favorite Entrants: Avojaifnot, Danfango700, Krobo
Favorite Quote: "Hehehe-he, you couldn't hit a baaaarn." "Hah! (Just did!)"
- Behold, a white horse. My first collab, Likety edited it so it's dank, and I just love MLP as a source for some reason.
2. YTP - Peter-Man 2, by Jimmy Davis
Main source: Spider-man 2
Favorite Entrants: Jallerbo, Jimmy Davis, Brickertown, Pair-a-Sox
Favorite Quote: "THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT..."
- This one (and the first Peter Man) are pretty wild because they cover basically the entire movie in sequence, passing the baton to the next pooper along the way. A good spread of recently active poopers.
1. The Weird Nintendo YTP Collab, by CoryTheNorm
Main source: Obscure Nintendo media (Commercials, cartoons, promos, etc)
Favorite Entrants: Clorox Corner, Silvanatorr, Toaster Water, CoryTheNorm
Favorite Quote: "ThiS Is IT LoUiGi!"
- This collab blows my mind. It's SO long and yet the flow and quality are through the roof. CoryTheNorm went above and beyond to edit the segments together into a satisfying whole. There's barely a dry spell to be found. This is a great starter poop too because it's familiar-enough source material, and like I said the quality. Yeah, 11/10.
My Character Tropes
Posted a year agoI used to be a TV Troper in the ancient times (like 2014) and it was boring at work before Christmas so I made a sheet.
Thought some of you would appreciate.
Roy
- Affectionate Nickname: Manya calls him "змея" Russian for snake and 'Royka,' a pet name.
- Author Avatar: He's basically me, obviously.
- Deadpan Snarker: Always on the lookout for a wry burn.
- Love at First Sight: It wasn't just Manya's hands... but they were a not-insignificant factor.
- Pungeon Master
- Reclusive Artist: He/ I don't socialize much.
- Sssssnake Talk: Roy/ Sid will start hissing their s'es when they're under the influence. It comes out like an accent.
Sid
- Badass Normal
- Bruiser with a Soft Center: He can mess you up, but he'd rather not have to.
- Mr. Fanservice: Sid will take advantage of any pretext to go shirtless.
- New Job as The Plot Demands: When Sid takes over he does whatever per-diem job he feels like doing. Anything from volunteer firefighting to mercenary work.
- Tall, Dark, and Handsome
- Sexier Alter Ego: In a Nutty Professor kind of way.
Manya
- Cats are Lazy: She works hard in her career, but when she's off the clock she can be an immovable object.
- Cuddle Bug: In classic cat fashion.
- Disabled Love Interest: There are a lot of everyday things Manya can't do because of her big ol' hands.
- Fashion Model
- The Fashionista: Comes with the job, but she's always dressed to impress.
- Guilty Pleasure: Fast and Furious movies (they're about family).
- Language Barrier: When her and Roy met she didn't speak a word of English.
- The Movie Buff
- Multiple-Choice Past: So are those her hands or are they gloves that she wears all the time? Not even Roy can say for sure. The world may never know...
- Peek-a-bangs: Her usual hairstyle, one side.
Ayame
- Artificial Family Member: Initially views Momo as a mother and Toshio as an uncle. This was just a phase, clearly.
- Dark and Troubled Past
- Deconstructed Character Archetype: Of sentient sexdoll characters. Her AI unintentionally evolved beyond the basic, 'doll' level making her a fully-formed person. But, being owned by a psycho, she was forced to suffer the kind of treatment these characters usually enjoy until she was freed. And now she only wants to be seen as more than just an object.
- Easily Detachable Robot Parts: Her limbs are modular, including her head.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: After being freed Ayame wore her hair up or tied back, but when she started to overcome her shame she literally let her hair down.
- Guilty Pleasure: Ayame actually really likes sex (she was made for it after all) but she keeps this under wraps to avoid the bimbo stereotype.
- Head-Turning Beauty: To her chagrin, generally.
- Hollywood Homely: Ayame initially wanted to be as low key as possible, but no amount of frumpy sweaters and baggy pants could hide her figure and features.
- Impossible Hourglass Figure: She can adjust her sizes to be as modest or... bombastic, as she wants.
- I Just Want to Be Normal: All she wants is to be seen as a person instead of a "synthetic companion."
- Ignorance is Bliss: Romeo forced Momo to make Ayame 'dumber' which was a blessing because she was less aware of the way she was being treated.
- Meaningful Rename: Romeo gave her the gaudy, on-the-nose name 'Lexus' but when she was freed she chose a Japanese name for herself.
- Naive Everygirl: Despite having the mind and body of an adult she's very 'street-dumb.'
- Robot Girl
- Robots are Just Better: While she's not a Terminator, she can do usual robot things like rapid, precise motions, speak most languages, and her flexibility is what you'd expect given the purpose she was made for.
- Sex Slave: What she inadvertently became after gaining self-awareness.
- Sexbot: She was manufactured... for a purpose (High five if you get that reference)
- Three Laws-Compliant: Averted. She can hurt anyone she wants.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: Very girly girl to Momo's tomboy.
Momo
- The Alcoholic: Always manages to have sake on hand.
- The Atoner: Momo is stricken with guilt for basically selling Ayame into slavery (even though she was obligated and intimidated into it). Now that Ayame is free Momo is dedicated to helping her experience normal life.
- Cannot Spit it Out: Fell in love with Ayame during her creation, but didn't feel comfortable pursuing it being her creator and all.
- Gadgeteer Genius: Can make just about anything given enough time and money.
- Grew a Spine: Momo put up with Romeo's treatment of Ayame for months before finally working up the courage to set her free.
- Horney Scientist: But could you blame her?
- Milholland Relationship Moment: Momo is responsible for Ayame being self-aware while she was being mistreated and blames herself despite Ayame repeatedly insisting she doesn't blame and her.
- Robosexual: She did too good of a job on Ayame.
- Smart People Build Robots
- Straight Gay: There's nothing stereotypically lesbian about Momo aside from her fondness for machines.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: Tomboy to Ayame's Girly-girl. She usually can't be bothered with femininity when she's neck deep in blueprints and robot parts.
Romeo
- Book Dumb: He makes sure he's feared and getting his due, but beyond that he's pure ego.
- Braggart Boss
- Complete Monster: A career criminal who'll kill, demean, or torture anyone who gets in his way.
- Corrupt Corporate Executive
- Crazy Jealous Guy: A part of his women issues.
- Establishing Character Moment: Walks into Momo's workshop and disrespects her while groping Ayame.
- He-Man Woman Hater: Has some deep mommy/ women-in-general issues, clearly.
- Malicious Misnaming: He continues to call Ayame Lexus because that's what he named her.
- The Napoleon: A chunk of his bitterness comes from being short for a man.
- Sharp-dressed man

Monthly Character Challenge! Suggestions?
Posted a year agoI had a good idea this morning! I'm going to make a new character every month and probably auction them all off. It's not much of a challenge, but I figure between work, commissions, and finding a new place to live that'll be just enough.
Got any suggestions?
I'm working on some already, but we've got 12 slots to fill. Probably doing six male and six female (even though my males never do as well). Not interested in characters based on existing IPs.
