Ask Dipper Is Coming Back!!
Posted 3 years agoThat's right, everyone's favorite 12 year old is coming back to answer more of your questions.
But he needs question. Just respond to this journal with your question.
Just remember, Dipper's answers are smartalecky so, don't expect a serious answer.

QUICK EXPLANATION
Posted 4 years agoIf you favorite something on this account, and suddenly find it deleted, do not worry. It just means I have moved it over to maxgoof
The only ones I will be doing that to are chapters of The Beach Bears Story, so they can all be on the same account. This makes maintenance much easier.

My New Philosophy...remastered
Posted 6 years agoGot tired of listening to the mistakes in the previous version.
Also, it's part of the challenge I told you about: a new or remastered song a week through the end of the year.

Try Everything! New! Improved! Now With Added Harmony!
Posted 8 years agoCould not leave a good thing alone. Added in harmonies to the chorus. Give it a listen.
Uncle Star said I should do this.
Posted 8 years agoRULES :
1. Pick one of your Fursona's.
2. Fill in the questions/statements as if you were your Fursona.
1. What is your name?
Dipper. It's not Little Dipper. Just Dipper. Oh, my middle name is Donald, which I'm told comes from my grandfather. But nobody calls me that. Uh...except mom or dad when they get mad.
2. Do you know why you were named that?
Not really. My Uncle Star says I was named for Ursa Minor, but he wasn't there when I was born, so I don't know.
3. Single or taken?
I'm 12. what do you think?
4. Have any abilities or powers?
Well, I can sing.
5. Stop being a Marty Stu!
Oh, pulEEZ... don't turn this into Gamergate.
6. What's your eye color?
Uh...black. As far as I can tell.
7. How about hair color?
Yellow. Well, more like amber, but...
8. Have you got any family members?
Yeah, mom and dad and my two uncles.
9. Oh? How about pets?
Nah...I can't seem to keep goldfish alive.
10. That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.

11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Yeah. Video games. I have a lot of them mastered. I can usually get through one in a few hours.
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
Well, there was the bully I beat up in Kindergarten, but he was asking for it!! Yeah, and then there was that one time with Bobby... I guess I hurt him pretty bad, then... What? No! I didn't lay a hand on him! Just...never mind.
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
Ewww! No!

Banana Boat Song remixed
Posted 8 years agoI always thought the backup vocals for The Banana Boat Song I had previously recorded sounded a bit thin, so, I had Birch and Stargazer add their voices.
You probably won't notice the change, but I did.

Gaming Marathon Results
Posted 9 years agoThanks to everyone who donated, we managed to raise $250 for two very needy people.
However, the effort especially after Five Nights At Freddy's took it's toll on both bobbythornbody and I, and neither of us made it much past 2:00 AM, rather that going to 5:00 AM.
So, to make up for that, we will, in the very near future, do another gaming stream, 3 hours long, and those who wish to donate to make it longer may do so at that time.
Thanks to all of you, and I'm going to bed.

Don't Forget! Gaming Marathon Tomorrow!
Posted 9 years agoTomorrow, Friday 4/24/2015, starting at high noon, EDT, BobbyThornbody and I will be doing our gamaing marathon to help raise funds for two people who could really use our help. Details were contained in the previous journal on the subject
We will start out playing Wizard101 using our Life and Death Wizards, and will play that for two hours. After that, it's open game. We will likely play different games, but be chatting, arguing, joking, and just having a good time conversing.
I plan to play whatever game I feel like playing, UNLESS someone makes a donation of $5 earmarked to watch me play a game of their choice.
The games I have that I am willing to play are:
Alan Wake
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
BioShock
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Fallout New Vegas
Half-Life
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7
Marvel Puzzle Quest
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Portal
Portal 2
Puzzle Agent
Puzzle Agent 2
The Stanley Parable
Toowntown Rewritten
Wizard101
Pirate101
There is also one other game that I don't want to play, because I cannot seem to get the hang of, and I also suffer from acrophobia, and that game is Mirror's Edge. If you want to see me make a fool of myself in that game, donate money calling for that game, and if I collect $100 I will play it for you, one hour minimum. Maybe two.
That's tomorrow. starting at noon, going until at least 8PM (with some breaks for bathrooms, noms, errands, and stuff)

Gaming Marathon Details for 4/24/2015
Posted 9 years agoOn Friday, April the 24th, Bobby Thornbody and I will be doing a joint gaming marathon stream on Tigerdile to help raise money for two people with severe financial problems.
I will be raising money for yaegashi, who can never seem to get his head above water, despite his best efforts. He has recently relocated and should be able to find steady income soon, but could really use the help. I have already given him a SUBSTANTIAL amount of money to help out (ask me privately if you really need to know) but I really would like to raise a lot more to help him out.
Bobby will be raising money for his "brother", Steve, who was just recently released from prison, and due to the stupid rules that he has to stay in a certain area, but there is no facility available for him to stay there, is sleeping on the street until other arrangements can be made. He could really use the financial help to get back on his feet.
So, here's the deal. Starting at noon EDT on that day, we will begin doing a dual stream on Tigerdile, my new streaming home. We'll start off with a game we will be playing together, and every two hours, we will change, probably to separate games. You can turn on the sound for either stream to hear just that game (or both if you have the mind to comprehend that) and eventually we will play another game together, etc.
We will be going for a minimum of 8 hours (noon to 8PM EDT) and for every 20 dollars we raise, we will add another hour, up to four additional hours (8PM-Midnight EDT). After that, it goes up to $30 per additional hour, for the next four hours (Midnight to 4AM), then $40 per additional hour for the next four hours (4AM to 8AM) then $50 per additional hour for the last four hours (8AM-noon). 24 hours is the limit (we have to sleep, you know). In addition, we will be switching off to take breaks, use the bathroom, get noms etc., but there will always be at least one of us gaming at any time.
Each of us will be listing the games that we have that we are willing to play. When we finish one game we will take votes on which game we play next. Whatever you want us to play, we will play if we have it, for one or two hours. Majority rules.
EXCEPT for two games: Bobby has reserved Five Nights At Freddies, because he HATES jump scare games, and I have reserved Mirror's Edge because I suck at...jump games, which this is a jump game. If specially earmarked donations to get us to play those games hits $100 total, we will play them for an hour, and you can point and laugh.
If there is a game you would like us to spend some time playing, but we don't have, we will play it, as long as you gift it to us on Steam, and contribute $5 (specially earmarked). Obviously, since our time is limited, we can only take a certain number of gifts, but that option will be there.
As usual the clever banter between Bobby and I will be present, and we hope to entertain you enough so you throw lots and lots of money our way.
If we go the entire 24 hours, we will raise $560. Amounts above that will earn our extreme gratitude, but 24 hours is our limit. Proceeds will be split 50/50 between Yaegashi and Steve. Throw enough money at us, and we'll consider doing it again.
If you so desire, you can begin making donations via Paypal to dipper.bear [at] att.net right now. Be sure to add a note if you want us to play either Five Nights At Freddy's or Mirror's Edge.

Posted 9 years agoTwenty years ago today, Disney put out a movie that would change my life forever.
I would not actually see the film until it went into the cheap theaters, because I thought it was similar to the quality of The Ducktails Movie.
I was wrong. I went back to the theater 17 times to see the film again and again. I bought the video as soon as it became available. I adopted the nickname Max Goof for just about everything in tribute.
I dressed up as Max for Halloween. I went down to Disney World and sought the walkaround out (even though it was the Goof Troop version, and not a very good one at that. Still isn't).
It introduced me to the furry fandom.
So many things can be traced back to that movie.
And all I can say is, thank you.

Final Appeal. Please Vote for The Beach Bears
Posted 9 years agoThe voting for the Ursa Major Awards closes on April 15th, less than 2 weeks from today.
I am up against My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which has won the award in the same category for the past three years.
I need every vote I can get.
If you have not already done so, please go to http://www.ursamajorawards.org/voting2014/ and vote for The Beach Bears for Best Dramatic Series Or Short Work.
I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

The Ursa Major Awards Voting Is Now Open!
Posted 9 years agoAnd The Beach Bears have been officially nominated! Thank you all!
Now comes the hard part: We are up against My Little Pony.
MLP:FIM got 321 first place votes, more than any other nominee in any other category last year. It got 428 total votes, second only to Frozen which was in a different category. It got a total score of 1130, far away the highest score of any nominee in any category.
The battle will be tough. But not impossible.
I will need as many first place votes as I can get. If everyone who is my watcher votes for The Beach Bears, that would be 841 votes. I don't expect that.
If even half of my watchers votes for The Beach Bears, that would be 420 votes, That would almost be enough to win, and will be if they are all first place votes. That's possible, but I'm not sure.
If a third of my watchers vote for The Beach Bears, that would be 282. That MIGHT be enough, provided the votes for My Little Pony go down.
In any case, I need every single vote I can muster to win.
So, please, if you like what I do, and want to show me in a way that will cost you nothing, go to http://www.ursamajorawards.org and go to the 2014 voting page and vote for The Beach Bears as your number 1 choice in Best Dramatic Short Work Or Series.
Voting is open until the 15th of April, so please don't wait.

[1.] Choose one of your original characters.
[2.] Answer each question truthfully.
[3.] Tag 3 or more people after completing this tag.
---
[1.] What's the name of your character?
Dipper
[2.] Tell us about your character.
Dipper is a young bear cub, caught in the moment between childhood and adolescence. He's in a hurry to grow up, but parts of him still wants to remain a child. He is cute as a button and hates it as people keep calling him cute, which he sees as an obstacle to growing up.
[3.] How did you make your character up?
He was invented as a companion for Stargazer, my first fursona, in order to ask him a simple question. Since Stargazer is an astronomer, it made sense to name him after Ursa Minor, the Little Dipper.
[4.] Is it easy drawing your character?
Since I can't draw, I would not know. He's not too hard. A yellow bear with white muzzle, a baseball cap and a bomber jacket, and you got him.
[5.] When did you make your character up?
About a year after inventing my first character, which would be around 1998.
[6.] What inspiration[s] brought your character to life?
The tradition of cartoon characters having a nephew sidekick. He is also a bit like Kit Cloudkicker and Winnie the Pooh.
[7.] Is your character dear to you? If so, how come?
He is very dear to me. He keeps me thinking young, is in many ways the son I never had. I asked some years ago why people loved Dipper so much, and they answered, "Because you do." Yup. That's it.
[8.] If you were forced to compare your character to another, who would you compare them to?
Kit Cloudkicker. In his love of planes, his youthful exuberance, and being right on the cusp between one stage of life and another.
[9.] Is your character related to you in any way? Personality? Problems? Traits?
Any decent character will draw upon the creator's personality. Dipper is an imp, in that he will do things deliberately to tweak others and see their reactions. He keeps alive my inner child.
[10.] If your character came to life, what would you do?
Adopt him, immediately. Then I would help him get used to living in a world full of hairless apes.
[11.] Is your character a hero or a villain? How do you see them as?
Dipper is a kid. He gets in trouble, he disobeys, he is often very emotional, but in the next moment he will do something so unselfish he wins your heart.
[12.] Is your character a part of any particular story you made up?
He is now: The Beach Bears Story.
[13.] What song//movie//book//play do you think of when you imagine your character?
Several. Tailspin for one, Paddington for another.
[14.] Has your character changed in any way since you first created them?
Yes. Originally, I created him to be about 8 (because of the nature of the question he was supposed to ask Stargazer) but I eventually settled on the age of 12, so he could be both very immature and mature at the same time. He originally had black button-like eyes, like Winne the Pooh, but artists found it easier to draw him with eyes with whites.
[15.] Make up your own question.
What will he be like as an adult? I honestly don't know. I fear he will be hurt something horribly and end up a broken bear, which is why I'm glad he has an uncle like Stargazer, who loves him to death and will help him cope with anything. My hope is he turns out to be a truly loving and unselfish bear.

Someone could use some love.
Posted 9 years ago kresblain has not been in the best of moods lately.
He's a damn good artist, and a damn good friend.
He could use some love.
So, when I saw that his latest picture, of bobbythornbody and me on all three of our sites, And Bobby gets 16 faves, and I get 14 faves, and Kres gets....ONLY 5???
Someone is underappreciated.
Go over there, look at his gallery, and find stuff you like.
Commission him, too.
The guy really deserves the love.

Ask The Beach Bears
Posted 10 years agoFor the New Year's edition of The Beach Bears Hour, in addition to playing songs not associated with any chapters, I would also like to give listeners the opportunity to ask questions of any of the Beach Bears and Bobby Thornbody.
I can try and include other characters, if you want to ask, say, Sara a question, but since neither I nor Bobby voice them, I can't guarantee I can get them to answer in time for the episode.
So, if you ever wanted to ask a question of any of the Beach Bears, or even Dan, Dipper's father, Bobby Thornbody, or his father, Sam, or even Wally Wolven, respond to this journal with the question.
Just make sure you let me know who it is addressed to.
Answers will be given on the 1/1/14 episode of The Beach Bears Hour.

Walnut Gallery Cast List
Posted 10 years agoIt's time to announce the cast for the new audio-story, The Walnut Gallery. We have gone over all the audition files several times and have come up with a cast that we think will do well based on everyone's auditions.
We want to thank everyone who tried out for a part. We got a lot more auditions in than even we were expecting. This does, sadly, mean that some of you did not make it into the final cast, but we will be keeping all voice audutions just in case we need other characters in the future, so even if you were not selected tonight, rest assured you will still be under consideration for future parts.
We had some tough decisions, as many people did some great voice work. We're very excited to get this project up and running.
Without further ado, we present you with the final cast of The Walnut Gallery:
Albert DiRusso - Scrimno
Alexander Gulopagus - Bobby Thornbody
Chet Hooper - Nathan Peterson
Chow - Danny Dingo
Digby Spader - Wessy
Dirk Lenburg - Hippie Mouse
Dodger Calhoun - Max Goof
Gerald Vanderbil - Malcolm
Hunter Guthrie - Naka
Jake Marshak - Jodi Richardson
Lenny McSavage - Whiskeypup
MacKenzie Fernworthy - Machozi
Morey DiRusso - Matt The Skunk
Nick Renaldo - Firebrand99
Robbie DiRusso - Aquasian
Samantha Cafferty - Buttercup Saiyan
Spence Spader - Krechevskoy
Travis Guthrie - Thwaitesy
Willson Jagger - The Hambone
Once again, please do not be discouraged if you did not make it. We had so many auditions that it was, sadly, impossible for everyone to be given a part, but you will be contacted in the event more parts become available in the future.
As things currently stand, we hope to have the first official episode of The Walnut Gallery posted on our sites by the second week in September.
To those of you that made it, congratulations. Once the first script has been written out, we will be sending it to you via a private note which will include a Dropbox link where you can download it.
Here's hoping we get a great show going!

WALNUT GALLERY AUDITIONS ARE NOW OPEN!!!
Posted 11 years agoHello everyone.
It is finally time for us to open auditions for the new audio story, created by Kresblain, entitled "The Walnut Gallery". We want this project to be great, but all great projects need friends like you all to make it happen. We will be opening auditions effective as of the posting of this journal. Auditions will remain open until June 16th, 2013 12:01 AM Pacific Time; that's a week from this coming Sunday. There will be no extensions on this time period. If you want to try for a part, you must have your sound bites in by that time, in order to be considered.
Before auditioning, however, please be aware of the following:
1. If you are selected, you will be expected to follow through. By auditioning. you are committing yourself to the project, which could last for several seasons, and will not decide halfway through 'I can't do this. I quit'. We need actors, not slackers. Unforeseen circumstances, such as a change in a family situation or an emergency are understandable. Just deciding that “I’m tired of this” is not. If you must quit, please do so between seasons.
2. You will be expected to be reliable and prompt when recording. Any and all lines that you are given will be required to be back to us no later than one week after the day you receive the script. We hope to make this a steady project, and to do that, we must be able to have the lines within a week. If, for some reason, you will be taking longer than a week, please communicate that to our producers as soon as possible, preferably well before you have to be absent.
3. Quality of recording will be taken into account. That is to say, if your recording has too much background noise or room reverb, or is too loud or too soft, severely lacking in high or low frequencies (or has too much of either), we may have to give your great voice a pass, simply because we will not be able to correct them sufficiently for production. We highly recommend you use recording software, such as Audacity (which is free) so you can see what you are recording. This will give you clear clues about background noise and recording levels.
4. You may be asked to redo submitted lines simply because we would like a different inflection. Therefore, the sooner you get your lines to us, the better. If you consistently turn in your lines at the last minute, it could hold up production. One thing you might consider doing would be, when asked to record lines, do more than one take on each line, with a different inflection on each.
Things to Consider When Auditioning
1. If you wish to audition for more than one part, please feel free! However, submit each audition as a separate file, and label the file appropriately.
2. If you wish to try different voice for a single character, please do so. You can put the different voices on the same submission file in that case.
3. Please read the line exactly as given, at least once. You may, if you so desire, change the wording for different takes, or give the line with others to give it some additional character, but give us at least one with the line read exactly as is for each voice.
4. You might consider reading the line with different inflections. This will likely enable you to showcase your ability to us better.
5. Please use either wav or mp3 format when submitting. If you use mp3 make sure it is set for at least 128bps. While we might be able to use other formats, we can’t guarantee it, nor can we vouch for their quality.
And now, the part you’ve all been waiting for. Here are the individual characters we need voices for:

Please make sure the name of your audition file also reflects the character name, to make it easier for us to sort out who auditioned for what part.
Good luck to all who audition!

Chapter Revisions
Posted 12 years agoI have uploaded revised versions of chapters 59, 60, and 61, replacing the voice of Susan with lilifox. In addition, the song on chapter 59 is updated to correct some timing issues that have bugged me for years.
Dementia Voting Time Again!
Posted 11 years agoSo, for the last few weeks, bobbythornbody and I asked for your help. All the votes you guys gave us were enough to not only keep us in the charts, but kept us as the top seven songs, as well.
We want to ask you, once again, to help us out by voting for our songs. Help us stay at the top the charts!
Here's how the voting went:
The Ferret National Anthem (2013):

This Week - #5
Filling My Prescription:

This Week - #6
The Porcupine Song:

I'll Lose Weight:

To vote for these songs, go to http://www.madmusic.com and login. If you don't have a login, you can either log in with facebook, or register. It's easy and quick. Then go to http://www.madmusic.com/top20voting.aspx . Since all of the songs are on the Top 20 chart, you simply put a check mark in the box by each of the songs, which are in the #1 to #7 spots. Then go to the #10 spot, and check that one.
Then, simply go down to the bottom of the page and click the button, "Cast My Votes!"
OH!! And also, please, if you haven't done it this month yet, go to http://www.drdemento.com and 'Request A Song'. Ask him to play "I'll Lose Weight" by Max DeGroot and "The Best Of Friends" by Fur The Love Of Mic. Be sure to include your email address, otherwise the request does not count towards the Top Ten for the month of May. So far, "I'll Lose Weight" was #4 in March and #5 in April. If I can get a few more appearances in the Top Ten, it could become one of the top songs of the year! Dr. Demento will be compiling the list for May this week, since next Saturday is the last Saturday in May, so, the sooner you get those requests in, the more likely they will be included in the count for May.
Thanks for any and all votes guys. You have no idea what it means to us.
