Updates and such!
Posted 5 years agoHeya, been a while! :P
So... yeah I know I haven't been posting here for months; and honestly, I have not been very active here at all. I want to be more consistent posting stuff here from now on though, since it's my preferred place to put all my larger commissions for future commissioners or collaborators.
However, I don't think it's gonna be anything more than that, at least for the time being. I plan on updating everyone here on major events and changes, but if you'd like to know when I'm open for commissioning and if you'd like to see WIPs and minor works, I'm not anywhere near as active than I am on Twitter, so if you're interested, feel free to give a follow! I usually notify and post everything there before anything else.
Getting back to things here, and now related to contact, I'm once again much more prone to responding on Twitter; but I do try to get back to notes every once in a while, even if it may take time. On the other hand, I will be treating this as a more professional account, so I won't be answering for casual conversations unless we know each other. I would also like to ask for anyone whom I'm not familiar with not to send me future commission ideas and such, and leave that for when I reopen - just so I don't get distracted. I know some people would like to estimate beforehand the cost of some non-listed, more complex commissions; but based on past experiences, I'd often end up spending my time of estimatives, calculations and idea discussions... and the project/commission wouldn't go forward in the end :/
And lastly, to end on a positive note, I'd like to thank you all so much for 1K watches! When I started here a few years ago, this seemed so unreal and out of reach. I'm immenselly grateful for everyone watching here. I know the last paragraphs may have... um... painted the image I'm closing myself and not valuing this place as much as other artists xD; but I'm honestly happy to be here. I'm happy I have somewhere I can keep my arts, and I'm happy people here like what I do. It really inspires me to keep going!
Plus I promise I'm working on some big stuff exclusive to FA :P
Thanks a lot for reading until the end!
Cheers!

Thanks for reading!
EDIT: Had to close again! All slots taken!
Will re-open as soon as the queue is cleared! :P

Updates + Commissions "reopening" soon
Posted 5 years agoHeya! Been a while! :P
So... a few things had happened these last few months. Lots of new choices made, most for the best; and I managed to have good times with some friends I hadn't seen in ages. In other words, I had time to relax and think about what I'm gonna do in the following months. For starters, I'll invest more time on personal projects and will start studying more courses related to illustration and art. I always like to improve, and I'll be happy to focus and study visual arts much more than it was possible before. In addition to that, I'll finally (hopefully) be able to go back to storytelling, and maybe trying a few webcomics in the near future.
Another huge thing is that, shortly after closing commissions, I started receiving some requests and questions for when I'd reopen. I planned on reopening this August and, in a way, I actually did. I didn't advertise anywhere, just focused on those commissioners who came at me while I was closed. That's why I've been posting commissions lately, even though I had left my status as closed. I wanted to take those works out of the way before "officially" opening. That way I'd be able to take my time with each one of those (they weren't few, so I had to focus on them with as much calm and effort as possible) and try out the updated prices and commission formats.
However, those commissions are close to being finished! Once they are, I'll be posting the updated links for the TOS, prices and form (I used that time I wasn't working on commissions to update those, and add a new form for NSFW art commissions).
Guess that's it so far. Stay tuned for more updates!
Check my stuff on |Twitter| - I'm much more active and easier to contact there! I usually take long to check my notes here on FA. Also, I have the habit of every once in a while opening briefly for a few quick commissions at a lower price; but I only do that there so far!
Wish y'all the best. Thanks for reading!

In memory of a dear friend...
Posted 6 years agoHeya! :P
So... I've recently uploaded a few songs here from my old band. The reason for that is, it's been one year since I've lost a very dear friend of mine. He was the one who put that band together, and I can't tell how much I owe him for that. Thanks to him, I can safely say I had the happiest moments of my life so far.
His name is Eduardo Freitas, and he was the responsible for the band Necromancer.
The band was his life, so after talking to the other members, we decided it would be more than a fair act to publish our songs.
I know the quality isn't that great (it was the best we could afford), and we were still very inexperient musicians; but this was his work. His legacy. So, in his memory, here they are. I'd be very thankful if you decide to check it out and, if you like it, show it to your friends. I just don't want those songs to be forgotten.
All the songs are in the same, Instrumental Demo folder. There were many more that we composed, but these are the only ones we recorded. In our planned order, they'd go like this:
01- One Step Forward
02 - Imminent Threat
03- Living in the Dark
04 - Sacrifice Demand
05 - Nicaragua Avenue
The last one was our favorite, by the way.
That's all, folks! Thanks a bunch for reading, honest!

Slowly back to writing
Posted 6 years agoHey... wassup?
So, if you've been watching me for a while, and you've seen that I promote myself mainly as a writer, you might find it a bit confusing that's been more than 5 months since my last story was submitted here. In the meantime, my art has been receiving some sort of major focus on my part - so much so that I recently felt confident enough to open for commissions.
But anyways, I just wanted to say that I plan on getting some more stories done in the future (and maybe even re-write some, with more details). Of course, I'll still be drawing like a madman; but I plan on slowly getting back to another thing I really love to do, that is storytelling.
...plus, a webcomic project is currently being developed >:P
But so far, that's it. Expect some "spoopy" stories to come in the near future!

================================================
In addition to finally opening for commissions, I'll start posting my art on some more sites. However, I don't plan on being very active on most of them. When it comes to interacting with the fandom, I'll mostly be using FurAffinity, Twitter and, hopefully in the future, SoFurry. But feel free to follow me on other places if you want.

First Journal + Test commissions closed. (Update)
Posted 6 years agoOh, heyyyy...
Christ, this is the my first journal here, it needs to be pretty.
First of all, I'm not the type of guy who personally visits everyone's page to thank for favs and watches, so to kill it all off: thanks everyone for watching, supporting my works. It really keeps me going, and I hope I can manage to keep doing what I love and diving into some projects I have in mind. I've been on this site for 8 months and, even if I'm not as active in the furry fandom as I'd like to be, I still really enjoy making my art, meeting new people, and stuff. Honestly, I love to produce stuff for the fandom, and I hope to keep doing it for a while.
(Hey Jim, stop with that shit. I read the word "Commissions" up there)
Yeah yeah, hold up for a second.
Well... I'm still just a bit over 50 watchers, but then again, I've only started to be active in the fandom at the beginning of this year. I'd just like to thank everyone watching me here, following me on Twitter, Furry Network and Furry Amino (even though I stopped using Furry Amino lately... maybe one day I'll return). Also, after I go over 100 watchers here and 150 followers on Twitter, I'll be starting to work on some bigger projects and opening for some more commissions.
But for now... yeah, lets talk about them commies.
So, I've only recently started a paypal account, and before opening a full catalog of what I can do, I've decided to briefly open for "test commissions"
...and I already closed. I wasn't expecting to get all slots taken (they weren't, by the way xD), especially after imposing such limiting circumstances like time and stuff. But yeah, at least I'll be able to do stuff. I mean, I made it for a limited time on purpose. Real commissions will open in the future, with more options, no time limit and more slots.
Again, it's just something I really want to do. I think I started out as a writer, but now that I've been seriously dedicated to my art, I guess I could start being a furry artist as well.
...but I still write, I swear! I have a 40 page long novella waiting to be revised that I'm planning to upload here!
Plus there is my comic project... but that's a subject for another journal.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading!
For updates and stuff, you can follow me on Twitter (|@MrJames_Miller|)
