A tad out of it
Posted 10 months agoHi there, friends, pals and every which manner of amigo in between! I forgor to type things! I've been fighting depression brought on from a medical condition, so I only recently realized just how out of my witts I've been for the last few months now. Forgive any weird wording of things; it's an effect of fibromyalgia (though am also exhausted and eepy). Days have begun to melt into one another, and I feel like I've been pretty under-driven as of late, and I've got a lot on my plate! So, I'll make this brief and painless;
Thank you, literally, like, the most ever possible in all of existence? to everyone who's watched or listened to whatever i've got going on here! I wasn't expecting to actually keep posting stuff, but this helps motivate me to actually go about working on things, and doing something besides just floating around. I struggle a lot with drive, as I mentioned, so, this really has meant the world to me. I'm slowly fighting to feel more like myself again (which is a bizarre feeling, especially when you've only just realized you haven't been yourself for months on end!) in spite of the challenges I'm working on, but enough about me. For legitness. Thank all of you for everything, even if it means little to you, it means lots to me. Thanks for sticking around this long at least! I'll see if I can't get something fun in the pipeline, or see if I can cook up some work to do on an existing project within the week.
okay i go eepy now, tyty mwah xox ttyl dabs backflips into bed

Mmm Commissions-
Posted a year agoHi, I've never really done a journal at all, ever, really. So, I figure I should start somewhere, right..?
Since this is a place to put down some of the things on my mind, I suppose I should start with the most pressing matter: commissions.
I'd honestly love to complete commissions making various styles of music, but I'm not like crazy confident in my skills, or that I'll be able to meet the expectations of whoever entrusts me to whip together a small work of music for them. I'm doing some digging around to try and figure out how to go about pricing such commissions, and so far I'm seeing costs of around $50-$200 for novice work. I'm curious what price someone would consider a reasonable fee for spending a few hours up to a few days on a 1-3 minute long track, so if you have any thoughts, feel free to chip in!
I'm not sure what the demand for commission musicians is, or exactly how they go about conducting business, but I'm a bit too anxious to go and ask; frankly I feel a little green around here, is all. So, in the mean time, I'll be posting some more songs and WIPs that I haven't completed yet to give people a better idea of what I can deliver, which I figure is a half decent first step.
Other than fretting over the idea of setting up commissions to help fund the downpayment for my first house while I'm working my full-time job, I can't particularly think of anything else that's weighing on my mind right now!
... Other than dragons, gryphons, about a dozen other species, but, that's a given.
