2022 it's gonna be a thing
Posted 2 years agoHI everyone!
Gearing up to do more art in February. Largely posting on Twitter these days. But hoping to see you all around FA more too. Been absent from the community for the past two years and looking forward to wandering around again.
But in local news HOLY HELL Omnicron is exploding in Australia. We're not getting many deaths but a hell of a lot of people are isolating and testing is an issue.
Little worries about heading into work next week...will see how we go.
Otherwise I hope you're all keeping reasonably sane despite everything :)

Is lockdown gone? Is that what the sun looks like?
Posted 3 years agoWe're out of our Covid rock just reaching the end of the year here in Melbourne.
It's...weird going outside and actually seeing people. And not having to distance anymore either. Though we're still wearing our masks.
Will probably become a common thing, at least in Winter, which is GREAT to help manage Flu Season.
Work is quieting down (My day-job as a Multimedia designer), so I'm slowly leaning back into online art.
If you'd like to catch up please add me on:

Refunding commissions, please contact me if you haven't been
Posted 6 years agoHello everyone.
I'm currently trying to get in touch with all my commissioners to offer refunds.
My schedule for this year is about to get very busy, and I've not been able to get to my commissions in anything near a reasonable time-frame. So I'm trying to get in touch with everyone via e-mail, notes and sms to offer refunds.
Those whom I've already started commissions for will have theirs completed.

For everyone else, if you have ordered a commission from me and haven't received an email, or an sms, or a note. Please note me here on FA, or send an email to cmckennadesign[at]gmail.com letting me know your preference, or to stay on the list.
Again, my apologies to everyone for taking so long.
Hopefully once this work is out of the way I'll be able to re-kindle my love for making art, but we'll have to see what comes on the other side of March.

Commissioner Update: E-mail errors
Posted 9 years agoSo I found out tonight that e-mails from my computer haven't been sending for.....quite a while. I would have thought that outlook would have done more to mark that error than a tiny blip in the bottom right corner.
So if you've ordered a commission from me at FurDu that would be why neither you, nor I, have received any correspondence on that.
I've contacted my Hosting company to try and fix it so I'll let you know as it progresses.

Looking for people
Posted 9 years agoDoes anyone know
Snowpawz?
and
Sasha Dee?
Snowpawz ordered a sketch from me a while back but their e-mail doesn't work and the phone is incorrect.
Sasha won the Auction at FurDu last year and I've still not heard back from them about what they want.
Both are Australian.

Getting back into animation.
Posted 9 years agoSo before this whole pony craze dies out (and it will) I'm wanting to be a decent part of it (you may have noticed a marked increase in my gallery (thanks captain Obvious)).
Getting back into the animation scene I'm going to be doing design and technique commentary, as well as fandom commentary on teh YouTuubz.
A lot of commenters keep to the show style, but I'm wanting to make a marked middle ground between 'still-swapping' and actual animation. Because actual animation takes foreeeeeveeeerrrrr.
The plan with all this is that I'll be producing original content that doesn't violate and copyrites, make a bit of side income from it and hopefully be able to move towards doing art, animation and commissions as my main job.
So here's a screenshot of my rig for Keyframe. It's still WIP and I'm trying to fix an issue with KeyframeCaddy which will make the whole process a lot easier. So I'll have an animated example along sometime either before or after the convention.
For those of you attending [urlhttps://ponycon.com.au/]PonyconAU[/url] I'll be offering a special deal in the conbook. A free upgrade or sketch with any digital commission (because I'm good at those and they're my favourite :3)

Animation
Posted 11 years agoHot Diggady Dog! I'm actually working as an animator for a small ad project. It's nothing big and is still freelance, but it's pretty cool to actually be doing the thing I studied back at University (albeit 2D instead of 3D).
I'll post a link when it's finished if I'm allowed.
So I was wondering if anyone else has been getting back into Animation recently?

PonyConAU: Thoughts as a trader
Posted 11 years agoMy partner in-crime\life *carnival and I attend a lot of conventions as artists and traders. Usually this nets us a small windfall for a few weeks of work before the convention, and a weekends worth of frantic labor talking to attendees, promoting our product and selling commissions.
Last weekend we attended a new convention with a new crowd called PonyConAU The rising popularity of Hasbo's new 'My Little Pony' series has seen it sky rocket in a wide variety of demographics, so much so that they're starting to have conventions pop up left, right, and center.
We're used to the geeky pop-culture crowd when it comes to trading, but the PCAU was pleasantly surprising for how well it was run (this being it's first year put together by a group of university students who have never run a convention before), as well as how big the turn-out was.
I created a few physical items for sale (Custom painted headphones and cola bottles) but the response to table commissions was huge, especially for Erika with her unique style and fast turn-over.
If you've ever thought about attending a convention as a trader I'd highly recommend one of these new Pony conventions. They're friendlier and less frantic than the big events such as Armageddon or Supanova (Or even our local favorite Manifest), and the costs of a table\booth are much lower.
Though you may have to learn a new style of Illustration to fit in, it was an interesting experience to say the least.
(Now to get ready for another convention on the GoldCoast, FurDU, in two weeks and clear this commission list before then.)

Expanding the network

Hello everyone
I'm currently looking to expand my professional network, make some more contacts
and hopefully get some more work not just for myself - but for others.
To that end I'm looking for creative professionals, which is in short, you guys.
The wonderful thing about modern communication is it doesn't matter about distance. A Web Developer in Atlanta, U.S. can work with a Graphic Designer in Melbourne, Australia no-problem (apart from time zones).
So if any of you are on
http://www.theloop.com.au">The loop, http://www.linkedin.com/home">Linked in, https://twitter.com/">Twitter or http://branchout.com/">BranchOut.
please see if you'd like to link so we can endorse each other.

Aren't you worried about having links with furries?
If I was worried about linking with furries I wouldn't be on FA, DA or the fandom.
These are professional networks, so we're linking on a professional level anyway. Our Furry profiles aren't back-linked..
Are you going to out my furry self on there?
See above comment, they don't back link.
Sure we could slander each others comment sections but why bother? This is to expand creative professionals and see how we can interconnect. If we don't mesh then it's no problem.

On a side note
I'm looking for anyone who has Back-end Web Development skills, and another who has Video Editing experience. If that's you, let me know. I may have some work available.

Looking for Marty Dingo & Caotix
Posted 11 years agoHi all.
This is a call out to anyone who knows 'Marty Dingo' in Australia, or 'Caotix'
My contact e-mail for Marty doesn't work, I don't have any other contact details and I need to get in touch with him about a commission.
If anyone is friends with this chap please send him my way. I'd appreciate it :)
I also have an old sketch stage commission from Manifest 2011. for a guy called 'Caotix' (hint: he likes hightops)
But the e-mail for him still doesn't respond and I've never head back about the sketch. It's paid for, so if you know him that'd be awesome too.

Commissioners - New place, no internet
Posted 11 years agoHi gang.
Just a quick update here that we're successfully moved into the new place.
However we haven't been able to find a few important items.
Namely the aerials to my wi-fi card, as well as the power pack for my properly working monitor. My second monitor is ok but the colors all come up yellow-toned so I'd prefer to put a hold on commissions till we find that dang power pack else your colors will be incorrect. We also don't have internet for 2 more days, which is getting in the way too.
So. Long story short I'd like to humbly request 2 more days extension on the commissions that were planned for now-ish so I can do them correctly instead of half-assed.
Moving house is fun huh.

Trying out livestream
Posted 11 years agoHi guys.
I thought I'd try this livestreaming bandwagon.
I'll be streaming a badge for Max Fuchs Koyote for the next hour or two if you're interested in seeing how I do things.

That MidFur meme thing

Where are you staying?
At home
What day are you getting there?
Depends when I'm not working
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Looming above you
Where will you be most of the time during the nights?
Looming...below you?
Who will you be hanging out with?
The defaults plus EVERYONE!
Can we hang out?
Unless you're not in the everyone category, yes.
Who are you hoping to meet?
Ooooo...I know most people.
Probably Radiant Glyph since I did say I'd come over and introduce myself.
What time do you get up/go to bed?
Am I working at the cafe or the studio? (5am\7:30am)
What's the best way to get a hold of you?
Find Carnival. Get her to call me. Or look for the tall person
Do you do free art/trades?
If the mood takes me, but I'll usually announce it instead of taking requests,
Are you selling anything at MiDFur?
Only my dignity.
What do you look like?
Tall guy, dark hair, big smile. Probably talking with a group.
Do you have a fursuit?
Nope.
Hugs?
Are they radioactive? because I love radioactive hugs.
Can I talk to you?
I hope...so?
Coming up to me and grunting incoherently could be slightly alarming.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Yes you can :)
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Depends what it is/ if I'm using it or not ^^;
Can I buy you a drink?
YES you can.
Can I take your picture?
Yes you can. But awesome poses and you in the frame are mandatory as a follow up.

Well that was an interesting year
Posted 12 years agoHello Dudes, duettes, bros, babes, friends and that one guy who sits in the corner.
It's been quite a year. An entire year in-fact. *carnival has been poking my occasionally to start doing stuff on here. But I've had a personal goal before doing so, and that personal goal was to be able to get my commission list moving.
Happily and with great relief today I did just that.
I've missed the community, the updates, dramas and victories but it seems like Deviantart & Furaffinity are doing just fine...it...it is isn't it? This isn't some shiny façade covering up a Fallout-esque bunker of ruined servers and killer robots is it?
Because that would be Awesome
...
Kind of like this
But with a Robot lazer party.
So what are the major updates?
Well Job wise I altually have two. I'm now contracted as a Graphic Deisgner for a local firm, which is a great day job. But! I also own my own business now doing branding, design & websites for people alongside my good friend FuzziBear\Ricky. He does the brilliant code, I do the designs. Bam!
Otherwise the year has largely been filled with ActFur and work. And more ActFur. I loved doing the audio game this year but daaaaaaym. If something takes up 2/3 of your life to do er...don't do it a second time.
That being said we're all Super proud of how it turned out. The beginning is a little rusty but we get our feet under us around episode 8-10.

I'll have some more updates for you soon guys, but that being said it's really really nice to see you all again.

Kick Starting on FA
Posted 13 years agoHello all.
Since so many of you are now exclusively using FA and I have a lot more free time on my hands with MiDFur work over and moving to another state, I'm gearing up my FA gallery again.
Hope you're all well etc etc :D
