New FA look
Posted 4 years agoFacebook flubbed something on the new look. It's pretty good except...
I kind of try to support by clicking on banner ads. I see new artists and the clickthroughs promote their viability so more people will buy them yada yada yada.
Problem is, there are no top ads anymore. Those are the ones I click, so I'm doing so much less of that now., especially on the phone.

World adopt?
Posted 6 years agoNever actually finished a story, but I'm a prolific world builder. Thinking a bit about taking the character adopt idea to it, offering worlds up.
Any thoughts?

Great lakes furcon
Posted 7 years agoGoing, at least for a bit. We want to get to the tulip festival in Holland, but I'm thinking also we can squeeze in a Saturday at glfc, and meet some local cuts. We've only managed to bump into a couple out of luck since we got here.
Don't suppose we'll be seeing anyone from here there?

digigrade anthros and shooting
Posted 8 years agoBeen trying to practice some drawing. Despite not quite feeling like I have the energy and stuff for it, I've been inspired that it's something I should work on. Started some figure drawing exercises, goal to get to where I can trace a pose on an armature.
I grabbed a chart of Karate kata off google to practice messing with more advanced poses as I go, and that led into different martial arts, including shooting, and I realized, prone is the only real stable shooting position for a digigrade anthro!
Fixed shooting positions rely on the body forming triangles to support the body and rifle to make it rigid and keep the gun from moving too much. The rifle and the two parts of the arm for example form a triangle, which with the elbow and shoulder supported properly, doesn't flex. In the prone position, the elbow is on the ground, and the shoulder and side form another triangle with the ground, keeping the rifle steady(theoretically).
Other positions however use the knee, side, etc. to hold a point--the sitting position for example puts both elbows on the knees. Sitting Indian style, the triangles formed by the legs, and letting the back hold a natural straight position, this is stable. In a digigrade biped though, the ankle joint is pulled up in the leg, to where it cannot easily be used as a pivot point like a human can. Thus it would allow floating in most positions a human would take.
It's fortunate that most of my anthros are bioengineered super soldiers, with calibrated elbows. I'm also looking at a different digigrade design, that would be able to moot some of that point.

Moving to Michigan
Posted 8 years agoKnow anyone in Kalamazoo? Plans right now are to move there for a while.
So earlier this year the mother in law got diagnosed with cancer. She's done the chemo, and finishes radiation later this month. Next month, Jeralee will be moving her up to Kalamazoo, probably into a home. She's not sure the brother is reliable enough to take care of her, so we're moving there too. I haven't been able to find good work out here anyway.
So if you know anyone in Kalamazoo, we'll be heading that way soon.

Rainfurrest
Posted 9 years agoI keep forgetting, I'm going to Rainfurrest. I plan on arriving Thursday Afternoon, leaving Casper Wednesday morning. Leaving Seattle Monday morning.
So, I'm looking for roomies for the hotel, preferably joining a room, and perhaps people to share the ride up with.
