COMMISSION INFO
Posted 3 months ago Interested in a commission? Here's a guide!
--- CONTACT ---
If you're interested in commissioning me, the first step is to contact me! I try to check Fur Affinity at least once a week, but the fastest way to reach me is through Discord, Telegram, or E-Mail.
DISCORD...
... NoSocksMonkey
TELEGRAM...
... CollieCosmos
E-MAIL...
... colliecosmos@gmail.com
When you reach out, here's what I need from you!
1. I need a reference sheet that showcases your character! Flat-colored ref sheets are preferred, but a shaded one will work if there are flat color swatches on it. If your character reference doesn't fit that criteria, don't worry! Other art and media will work, but I will need you to describe anything relevant that I can't see, and provide me with some flat color swatches, CMYK, hex, or RGB codes to get the colors right.
PLEASE NOTE: The colors on your character may be slightly adjusted to work more harmoniously with other colors in the piece. If you would like me to not do that, please let me know before I begin coloring anything!
2. I need a description of what you're looking for! The more detailed, the better! If you have any reference photos or mood boards you'd also like to share, I'd love to see them! I want to be able to accurately create your vision. If there's anything you feel is relevant to what you want, please share it! For artistic liberty pieces, I do require something small to work off of, whether that be a theme, the mood, or anything else.
3. Last but not least... I need your PayPal email to create the invoice! All of my invoices allow for partial payment. I need at least half upfront, and the rest at a later date. You will not receive project files or high-quality image files until the invoice is paid in full.
---MY PROCESS---
My process is quite simple! Here are my steps...
1. Contact me, of course!!
2. After contacting me with your idea, I will provide you with a quote.
3. Once we make our agreement, I will send you a PayPal invoice.
4. I'll create a few loose sketches, and send them over. Pick your favorite! Don't like any of them? No worries, just let me know and give some feedback so I can create some more that are better suited to your liking.
5. Once you've picked your favorite, I'll get to work on cleaning things up. You'll get a cleaner, but still rough sketch. I'll ask you to provide your feedback, and it's at this time that I expect you to let me know any major edits you'd like to make!
PLEASE NOTE: Further down this journal will be a section further explaining how I handle edits.
6. Next I'll clean the approved rough sketch up, and after this point only minor edits are free! The final clean sketch will be sent to you for approval...
7. ...Then I will begin lining! After I complete the approved lineart, most edits will come at a fee.
8. After getting approval for the line art, I will lay down the flat colors, followed by shading and lighting if requested.
9. Finally, once I get approval for the shading and lighting, I'll go add any final touches and send it over to you for final approval! Once I have received the full payment, you'll get sent a few things! A high-quality .PNG image file, a .PSD file, and a digital thank you note! Other files or file types are available upon request.
--- PRICES ---
So, what are my prices? It's a little tricky...
Everyone's vision and character are different, so I don't like to box myself in with a set price list. After all, it wouldn't be fair to charge the same amount of money for a solid color simple lion and a neon sparkle dog with 500 colors and patterns. I would either be overcharging the lion or undercharging the sparkle dog!
Instead, I prefer to work off a quote system, but for transparency's sake, I've put together a very rough price list below. All the prices are based on if I were drawing my fursona as a full-body piece for a commission since he's not super simple, but not super detailed. I like to think of him as a fair middle point in complexity. Please keep this in mind when looking at the prices below, as they are subject to go up or down depending on your request.
PLEASE NOTE: Each additional character in a piece is priced according to their design but at a 25% discount. In example... If I would normally charge $50 for that character, I would only charge $37.50.
PLEASE NOTE: Prices below are in United States Dollars.

PLEASE NOTE: Stylized shading refers to styles like halftone, stippling, hashing, etc.
--- BACKGROUNDS ---
Much like the way I'll price a character, the price I charge for the background will depend on its complexity. Do you want it shaded? If so, how? These are things that will affect the price! I would never want to charge as much as I would for a painted background if you only want flat colors and lines.
Simple backgrounds will range anywhere from free to $15.
Complex backgrounds will range anywhere from $15 - $150 or more.
If you'd like a background, please give me a description of the background and what style you'd like it drawn in. I can do flat colors, patterns, or environments. Environments come with the same line and color options as my characters, just me know what styles you'd be interested in!
--- EDITS ---
As mentioned above, I said I'd include a spot to go over my edit policy so there's no confusion. When the piece is still in its early stages, most edits are free unless they would greatly impact the final product. What do I mean by that? Well, if I quote you for a full-body piece of your character with no outfit, but you then decide you'd like your character to be dressed to the nines, I will have to increase the price.
If there are any major changes you want done when I send the rough sketch (not the thumbnail!) I need to know then! This includes major pose adjustments, outfit changes, etc. After this stage, you will get one free major edit, and a charge of $5 to $10 fee for extra large and complex edits, depending on their complexity.
Minor edits, such as addition of jewelry, minor pose adjustments, and other similarly simple edits will be free before I line the piece. After I line the piece, you are afforded five free minor edits. Extra minor edits beyond your free five will cost $1 per edit.
I have implemented this policy to prevent myself from being taken advantage of. I'm more than happy to fix and adjust details, but the further along I am, the harder it is to execute them. That is why I've put limits on free edits and surcharges on extra ones.
PLEASE NOTE: If the edit pertains to a mistake made on my end, no matter how big or small or at any point in the process, that will be completely free of charge. This applies to things that were made clear to me in the beginning, whether through description or references, like forgotten markings, accessories, or incorrect coloration.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns about this policy and these fees, please let me know! It's something new I'm trying out.
