I am still here. :)
Posted 2 years agoYep, as the title suggests, I am still around.
New, improved, and better in many ways. And different.
A lot of water has flowed under the bridge, and a lot has happened since my last journal.
Dad died, I moved back to my old home town, stayed with mom for a year until I moved to Tampere.
Soon after mom died of lung cancer, and other bad stuff which I won't go into detail about.
Spent some time doing introspection and reflecting on myself,
and finally admitted to myself I am transgender, and quickly came to terms with it.
Got my diagnosis and meds, and I have been transitioning for almost 2 years.
Still a long time to go, but it is getting better.
I can not overstate my gratitude to my Second Life family, friends and loved ones for being there for me and being emotionally supportive in my time of need.
You guys and gals are my herd. <3
These last few years have been a real doozy, but looking forward to the future.
Now I am trying to reconnect with the Finnish furry fandom.

Save Grevy's Zebras!
Posted 15 years agoI have been worried about the Grevy's Zebras for quite a while now.
Today, I came across this page:
The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: Grevy's Zebra at http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/7950 .
"Current estimates put the total population of Grevy's Zebra remaining in the wild in Kenya and Ethiopia at approximately 1,966 to 2,447 (B. Lowe pers. comm. 2008; F. Kebede pers. comm. 2008)"
The time has started to run low for Grevy's Zebra. Actually, it has been running low for a long time.
Let's not let them become extinct because of stupidity of the man like the Quagga did.
We need to act NOW! Not when there are only a handful left.
Please, help them if you can. This site looks promising so far: http://www.awf.org/content/solution/detail/3377
If you can help, donations can be made at: http://www.awf.org/content/action/detail/3335
Please donate! Every little bit adds up.
Even if you can't help financially, it would be great if you could pass the word on to friends and in your journals to raise awareness.

Tablet issues...
Posted 16 years agoGrr... Sometimes things just don't work.
I have this crappy Trust TB2100 tablet to do some doodling sometimes, but I have recently run into a major issue. The issue is that I have a dual screen setup. "That's sweet!", you might think. Well, it WOULD be great if the tablet behaved itself.
The issue is the following:
The driver seems to treat the dual screen layout as one huge screen. one next another, making it a screwy combination of 13:9 and 16:10 aspect ratio. Well, the tablet has an issue with the drawing surface. The tablet is an A6-sized thing, with ratio of 4:3... So the movement of the pen is messed up badly. it moves across two screens when I move it from side to side, and when I pull it fown from the top, it goes down normally. Basically, I have 2 inverted aspect ratio things... Drawing at the moment is impossible for me.
I have also heard Wacoms might have the same...
Does anyone know what to do to fix this mess?
Please, drop me a line if you know, as I don't check FA and this Journal regularly enough.

Posted 17 years agoMaybe I should post more. I looked for the journal link for 5 minutes before I found it :P

Strange blurring...
Posted 17 years agoToday has been okay.
I have still been doing housework after the
housewarming party, and done loads of laundry, washing up, hoovering the flat, cleaning the tables etc.
For the last few days I have been experiencing strange blurring of my vision, ever since I drove up to Kuopio.
I hope there is nothing wrong with my eyes.
In the evenings, I start having problems focusing on
things and reading text, as I see all the text in two.
Ergh. I probably need more rest... The weekend was rather tiring, afterall :)
Whoa. Maybe I should take a break from computers for a few hours. Not counting sleeping, of course :)
Yay for sleep. x.X
P.S. I didn't mean to moan or complain or anything, just something I noticed :P

Spambots on the move...
Posted 17 years agoI noticed I have started to get sh*tloads of IM's with pornsite adverts and lots of other junk in my hotmail-account. So there is probably a spam bot pickig e-mail addresses from this site.
This is pretty much the only site I have had my address in a readable form, but now I had to scramble it, too.
I suggest everyone else does the same.
And example of a good way to gool a spam bot.
abuse[at]hotmail.com becomes abuse_at_tormail_dot_com... And so on.
I only like spam when it is in a tin...

Moved in. Tired and happy.
Posted 17 years agoUhhh... I am glad the move is finally over.
So much stuff to move around.
I know, I moved in on tuesday,
but I had to thrown in a housewarming party,
didn't I? :)
Thanks go to:
Oswaldo (My flatmate)
Kobra
Kheldis
Archyx
PateKettu
Teo
Lumi
Jari
Nossat
Wilikki_1
...AND HAADO GEI! HOOOOOOOOO!
Thank you all for coming! *grouphugs all* :)
So, yes. The party lasted over the whole weekend.
I hope everyone had a good time there,
despite of the inside temperature exceeding
30 degrees Celsius.
Today, my flatmate, Oswaldo has to go to attend his compulsory military training. He will be missed. :(
Well, at least he gets some weekends off so it
isn't that bad.
I feel drained... I think I will clean up tomorrow.
Early bed tonight. Maybe.

Zebra is moving. Fast.
Posted 17 years agoYes. I am moving. Again.
To Kuopio, Finland this time. I am weird.
I cannot settle to one place for too long.
My hooves are restless...
I want to find a place to call home.
I hope this is it. I am growing weary of all this.
The moving company will pick up my junk on Tuesday.

Rough week...
Posted 18 years agoErgh. I have had a "slightly" rough week.
Last sunday, I was admitted to hospital because of some health problems. I had to spend there until thursday when I finally got out there. Still feeling generally weak and all, but I am getting better each day. Recovery might take a few days.
But I am glad to be back home. Hospitals are just draining my spirit away.
And sorry if I typo a bit, I am very tired most of the time at the moment. :P

Mngh.
Posted 18 years agoI have returned from my trip to UK, and boy, was it lovely. I enjoyed every second of it.
But now, I am back in Finland and all the aches and pains have returned. No idea why. :/
The weather has been bad, too.
Maybe my body aches to get back to UK already.
To feel the rich air in my nostrils, to feel the rich soil under my hooves... And the leaves of the green shrubbery brushing my flanks.
And the calm of the forest.
Oh, how I miss you so.
Looking for something. Hoping to find it one day.
Sigh. Maybe I should break out my pencils. But for that, I need to be able to sit up for more than half an hour at a time. Painkillers are good, but they seem to kill the imagination, too. Oh, well. Two options. Choosing the lesser evil is a problem here. :/
Bah. Enough rambling. On with the show.
