Hello, world!
Hi! Omg, never did this before.
So, as I have started putting in more work recently, thought I'd share some art goals and my brief journey here. Mostly for myself to keep track of but also for anyone who's interested in what's next!
As a background, I've been drawing since I was a kid, mostly cartoons and anything my imagination would produce, really. For most of my life I kept art quite secret from my social circles. During the last 6 years, I decided to let them know and even shared some art.
Lesson: I don't want to do this again. For context, most of my friends and family think of art as realism, portraits of people and landscapes. Not really my thing. I have noticed either ignorance or rejection of art that I truly enjoy making, so... I am going back to my origins, back to drawing for me. Feeling all that toxicity from art is something that I always dreaded.
I love anthro art. Always thought these animal-human hybrids are super expressive, beautiful and in many ways better at making sense of what it means to be human. Sooo here is my safe space to do such art and to constantly improve.
As I have lived in the spotlight of expectations for so long, it's time to rebuild. I am not yet at a level I am proud of, constantly seeing mistakes in everything, but I am happy that the little kid, then the sad edgy teenager didn't put the pencil down.
Here's to what the future holds! 🍻
