Ranting about the last 6 months
I’m so exhausted, I haven’t been posting lately and I apologize, life’s been fucking weird I don’t think you could come up with shit this insane.
Tl;dr: had extreme issues with my apartment unit for 6+ months and other life issues which is why art production has been extremely slow. Should be getting back on track so long as no more issues arise.
I moved into an apartment complex in late August last year and so far I’ve had to deal with:
a fire in the building
a flooding of the entire apartment
a leak from the top floor into our kitchen
for the last several months a foundation leak that soaks the carpet every time it rains (it rains a LOT)
maintenance coming in unannounced waking me up daily (I work nights)
Maintenance knocking once and unlocking my front door, which they could have let out my dogs and one guy showed my naked body to the entire world misgendering me in the process (I’ve been passing for years) which honestly bothered me for a long while and still does
dog shit right in front of my subfloor windows literally so bad my dogs can’t even walk through the grass comfortably, constantly having to avoid piles of shit along with a smell so bad I have not been able to open the windows at all aside from airing out the carpet which makes it smell just as bad as the shit if not worse.
Most recently I had to move into a new unit which seemed pretty good since the new unit is a bit of an upgrade but then found out after moving my bed in that the electric stove tops are too big and not connected, the heater isn’t working in the middle of fucking winter, and I tried to shower and the cold water knob flew off shooting freezing water everywhere flooding the bathroom of the new apartment. Luckily it wasn’t too bad but I had to call the fire department after only being in the place for 4 hours, hadn’t even moved all my stuff yet.
On top of all that I also had to deal with losing my car, the brakes failed a week after I had it looked over and okayed by a mechanic. I did get a car replacement almost immediately which was extremely lucky for me so that was good.
My health care provider no longer serves the state I’m in..again.. if you’re trans do not come to Kentucky
I had a large amount of money stolen from me (I’m so glad I keep some savings fff)
It’s been about a week since moving in to the new unit and I’ve got hot water, heat, a working shower, and a working stove. I’ve got all my stuff moved with some really bs tactics from the landlord lying to me on how much time I actually had to move so that was fun, had to toss most of my furniture because I literally just didn’t have the car space nor was given enough time to find someone with enough car space to move them. But now I have things somewhat settled in this new unit, tho I’m probably not going to fully unpack since I should be moving to Arizona by the beginning of fall. But at least now I can finally start drawing again. It’s been months of nonstop shit I’m so ready to be able to just sit down and draw again, hopefully nothing else happens.
Sorry for such a long rant I just had to say something about all this even if it’s just to myself here.
If you read all this fucking gold star to you dude cause it’s a fucking lot lol
