Why Support Clean Fursuiting?
Once again,
This group is NOT to offend or put down those who own SPH fursuits.
Instead, it is to promote and celebrate the use of Clean Fursuiting, as well as fursuit care.
If you have a SPH suit, do the public and your audience a favor and keep it private.
Bringing a SPH suit in a public setting is like using a toy rocket ship as a dildo, washing it, bringing it out in public and letting children play with it. It's "clean" but that doesn't make it right. And if the public found out what that "rocket ship" was used for they would be upset.
At cleanfursuits we promote the idea of fursuit performance.
When you are in suit, you're always "on stage". Unless you're fursuiting completely alone, there is an audience. That audience has expectations of you, based on the character you are playing.
The public already has a low opinion on furries and fursuits. They think every costume the fandom has is used for sexual activity. When I suit, I try my best to show them that it's NOT about sex, it's about having fun and making people smile. There is a joy to it, a rush you get when you are in costume and no one knows who you are. You can express yourself in ways you never could before, and bring smiles to people who never would have given you a second glance.
A second point is why spend $2000+ on a beautiful work of art, and not take care of it? Not only is an unbrushed and unwashed fursuit ugly to look at, it's unpleasant to the touch and smell too.
We also promote the idea of proper fursuit care, and you can find a very thorough and useful guide on keeping your suit clean HERE.
If any of our watchers or supporters have any ideas they would like us to address, please note us or comment with suggestions.
Thank you!
