This is a bit of a long read and has some pretty upsetting medical stuff.
On the morning of Saturday January 11th at approx 10:45am my beloved partner of almost 11 years and whom I have 2 wonderful children with, , very suddenly went into Cardiogenic and Systemic Shock while at his job. Blood erupted out of his mouth and nose suddenly and he was actively dying in the bathroom while trying his damnedest to go back to work, worried about how we were going to take care of our rent and bills since we have been living in an extended stay hotel for almost 3 years now. We have to pay rent every week and there is no grace period so if rent isn't paid by 11am every Thursday we have to get out. We also have car payments and other majorly important bills that have built up during everything. He works at a tavern on the beach and with it being winter time it's currently their off season so hours are greatly limited compared to during the summer when he's able to get overtime.
He was rushed to the ER via ambulance where he was then rushed to the ICU and placed into a medically induced coma. He had aspirated blood in the process of everything and couldn't breathe. They said he was on the very verge of Cardiac Arrest and was actually within an hour of dying; he is incredibly lucky he was found when he was by the front of house manager, had he not there was a solid 90% chance he would have been discovered deceased in the bathroom.
They found he had ALOT of fluid and blood around his heart and had to take him into surgery to drain it. They ended up draining "3 Coke cans worth of dark red almost black bloody fluid" during the procedure and more overnight with a drain in his heart. He was in a medically induced coma for 72 hours fighting for his life in the Cardiac ICU. Due to the fluid being almost black they thought he might've had Tuberculosis and had him under a hazmat quarantine til they were able to clear him.
Thankfully he is NOT Arthur Morgan lol
They've also been testing him for Cancer and alot of other really scary things that haven't fully been ruled out.
During all of this his parents suddenly wanted to resurface and act like they give a shit while also making everything about themselves while their only kid is fighting for his life in a fucking coma. Fearing for his safety I constantly voiced my worries to his medical care staff and stood ground as his advocate. Once he was fully conscious the hospital Chaplain assisted us in creating a living will and making me his medical power of attorney. I successfully kept him protected.
Somehow they found out where exactly he was in the ICU even when he was listed as a Private Patient. The prime suspect is the bitch across the hall from us here at the hotel who is supposedly a hospital worker. She already eavesdrops at our door and reports everything we do to his mom. Being a hospital worker she would have been able to find out everything about where he was while there. His parents not only found out what specific ICU room he was in but the names of his nurses. They called and harassed and were so downright hateful to the very people that saved his life.
The hospital has been notified and there is an active investigation ongoing.
After a week of being in the hospital he was finally discharged, with ZERO answers, but hasn't yet been able to go back to work; even when he does it will take a bit for us to bounce back.
He has a cardiologist appointment on February 10th where hopefully we will be able to find out SOMETHING. Not knowing what has caused all this is driving me crazy.
Everything is so incredibly stressful while constantly worrying about keeping a place to live, being able to pay our bills, our safety and privacy being compromised here, trying to regain some normalcy while navigating the unknown terrified of what could have caused this and what could occur in the future...its just alot but I'm really trying to take everything a day at a time.
My mom set up a GoFundMe for us to try to help with things in the meantime.
We'll be starting with maintaining our bills and rent while Zack is out of work and hopefully helping to save up to move to a place where people aren't literally spying on us for insane toxic assholes.
I genuinely do not feel safe here whatsoever.
