So November now...
Hard to believe it's already here, the time of falling leaves, chilly winds, and lots of stuffing and casseroles, well... if you're American anyway... XP
Recently, I got a job at a retail art's and craft's store to help keep me busy and on my feet, it's part-time but since the holidays are right around the corner... that might be changing temporary. Maybe, still uncertain though. The reason for the job was because I admit I was feeling kind of crummy and worthless for the past few months. Like, I could be doing more with my life... ya know? Art is my joy but I'm still having my doubts I can make a living wage off of it alone. I'm getting older and times are changing (for better or for worse for artists in general...) I can't keep relying on others to be there when they can't...Plus, I just don't want my folks to worry about me, wondering what I'm gonna be doing when they're long gone... So on top of art I decided to get a part time job, with something I'm kinda familiar with. I do sketchbook stuff on top of digital art, so it does help somewhat. It definitely is tiring lots of moving around, lifting, bending, standing, the works, along with varying customers some nice and some... well... you know. It comes with the territory sort of speak... Like any other job. My co-workers are really nice I enjoy their company, they are very helpful too! All in all, basic and usual stuff. Another thing that I wanted to mention is I am still thinking about doing commissions for art, I might've said this before but the reasons I've been really hesitant about doing them is that the idea of screwing something important up makes me feel nervous, kind of scared too. Especially when it comes to things like money. There's just a ton of things to consider too, like fines and payments for stuff like Paypal in the like... I've been looking into those kinds of things on my free time. I guess I figured it's time I move my foot forward and actually take that first step... I'm not gonna say when I'll be taking commissions but it'll be when I'm good and ready, we'll see... I do feel bad for all the times I said I was going to do it but then never followed through with it, especially since there were folks who were genuinely interested in that. For that I do apologize, and I'm deeply sorry for not following through with my promises. This is pretty much all that's going on with my life currently, what I've been feeling since January, heck probably since fall of last year. But despite it all, I'm just glad fall is here and winter is right around the corner. I hope you all have a lovely season whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not! <3
