Hiya! My friend Kenkou suggested I join. I've been fairly nervous since I am not really part of the furry fandom, but I do a lot of animal related art. I'm excited to see what this community is like :)
A bit about me. My name is Lana. I live with my husband on a military base. I move around a lot so I do freelance art to help bring in some money. I LOVE traveling and going to conventions, even though I'm really socially awkward. Aren't we all.

Scuba diving is wonderful
This is gunna be kinda rambly sorry. After the suicide of my close friend almost half a year ago, I took up scuba diving. I know, kind of a weird path to take in order to deal with death. I guess I needed something to make me feel alive, like I was trying to compensate for the fact that he wasn't. We knew each other since middle school and remained good friends and gaming buddies since. Then, on Jan 26 I received the news that he decided to end his life. I've never lost some one close and I don't even have many close people to begin with so it hit me real hard. I think I made something like four full illustrations in a month just trying to cope with his passing.
Anyways, I tried scuba diving. It really is a different experience considering the whole "you could die" thing if something goes wrong. It's exhilarating. My recent piece was inspired by my first non-training dive. It was so fun. We explored a small reef called Cardiff Reef off the beach here in San Diego. I saw some garibaldi fish, tons of lobsters, a giant crab, and some other cool stuff. That's really it I guess. Life has been getting better.
