New Album: At Last, the 2019 Album
If anyone's interested, I have just released my seventeenth album of progressive rock, recorded between 2018 and 2020 - 'At Last, The 2019 Album'
Thanks to merlin-the-bruce for drawing the cover!
The album itself can be had for free here:

There's also a Bandcamp page if you think it's worth paying for:

Originally this album was going to be called "Xerian", but as regular watchers may have noticed, the story behind those songs have grown enough that I've decided to promote the whole thing to a concept album for release in 2022. So the four Xerian songs ended up getting pulled from this one, but let's see what we have instead:
1. Time Tunnel
This was a fun project and an exercise in mission creep. What started out as "It would be fun to write a song that travels through the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s to the present day..." turned into "It would be fun if I shot each part of the video on equipment from that time period... ". Between the Super 8, 16mm and vintage video cameras this has turned into the most expensive project I've ever made, I think. Maybe some of the styles clash a little... but it was an experiment that had to be tried.
2. Monarch
This is a song about megalomania. I do those from time to time and they're usually a lot of fun. What's better than being rich? Absolute power...
3. Your Eyes Reflected In Mine In Yours
For a long time this was just called "055" and sat unfinished for a long, long time. After getting the Roland D550 I finally had the inspiration to finish it.
4. Mainframe
This was intended as video game music, inspired by System Shock. But it turned out nice so I stuck it on the album.
5. Tinker, Tailor, Psycho Sailor
This was originally intended for Illiath the Barbarian, but it became clear it wasn't going to fit, so it never got completed and just sat on the shelf. Now it's ready.
6. The Pole Song
If Bob Drake can write a song about the slime at the bottom of the sea, I can surely write one about the legendary Korg M1 synthesizer. This was originally an exercise in "What actual use is the Pole sound? Let's see what we can do with it" and it turned out pretty well, so I was able to turn it into a full song. It's probably one of the more accessible tracks on the album, the others mostly being either long medleys or instrumentals.
7. Theme for the Sea Wolves
It's been a while since I've had a proper instrumental track, now there's a whole bunch of them. This one was inspired by the reports a couple of years ago about a subspecies of wolf which lives on the coast of Canada and has adapted to life in the sea, catching fish and swimming between the nearby islands. Hope you like.
