- Who are the teacup gryphons is ? What is the difference from ordinary gryphons?
-the main differences between standard gryphons and teacup gryphons are to do with its breeding, size, and anatomy. teacup gryphons most recognizable features that differentiate them from standard gryphons are,
beaks: teacup gryphons all have rounded beaks. they will never have sharp pointed predatory bird beaks such as eagles or ravens or falcons.
paws: teacup gryphons will always have 4 small feline paws, never having bird like paws front paws/arms like the larger standard gryphon.
body: teacup gryphons are semi-feral, meaning something in-between feral and anthro in shape, never feral. (however can be drawn anthro for those that are more anthro exclusive artists) with round heads, always big ears, and bigger hips and thighs.
wings: teacup gryphons are flightless, they have very small wings that are not big enough to carry their body weight, some perhaps born without wings completely, some with wings that could let them hover enough to fall slowly. teacup gryphons are completely flightless, unlike standard gryphons.
- How long ago was this species created?
-This species was created by Mangobird (on an old accound called Wave-Line) officially on Aug 29, 2015 , at around 11:40 PM
- What does "closed" species mean ?
-Closed Species means that this species has not been released for public use yet, (the species is still under development, this species having plans for a book/comic in the future) and the creator does not with this creation to be opened to the public as of yet.
- I don't have any money, how can I get one ?
-if you cant afford a teacup gryphon then their are other ways to get them, such as rare raffles by the creator (mangobird on FA, Dentergryph Twitter)
- How often are new adopts created? How to order a custom design ?
-Adopts are posted around once a month in batches of 6 to 10. customs are open sparingly as the only way to get them is asking to see if they are open, it all depends on the creators availability and schedule.
- What is the size of teacup gryphons? What do they eat ?
-the size is always around 1ft to 3 ft maximum, and their diet is omnivorous, some consuming small amounts of meats, like fish or small animals, as well as fruits, nuts and berries, some teacup gryphons live a completely vegan life is their living area is lush with fruit barring plants and trees, or if the teacup gryphon simply prefers the taste of fruit.
- Can they have a feral or anthro version ?
-teacup gryphons never have a feral form, they are strictly semi-feral, however we do allow them to be drawn anthro even though it is not cannon.
- Are they completely furry or do they have feathers?
-teacup gryphons have a mix of fur and feathers, having often soft downy feathers around their necks, along the upper base of the tail, sometimes on their heads, and on the back sides of their lower arms and legs, but most dont notice unless observed closely.
- Do they lay eggs and do they have nipples?
-teacup gryphons are not egg laying, they bare live.. kittens?.. and have small belly nipples, often hidden under the fur.
- If this is a mixture of cats and birds, does it mean that their claws can hide ? How many fingers are there on their paws? Are there any other options for paws?
-teacup gryphons claws are retractable just like a cats, they have 5 digits on their front paws and 4 on back, able to grip similarly like a cats paw can, but a bit better, with the ability to use their thumbs better. their paws can be drawn more feral if desired, or anthro like paws, but never like human. they have feline paw pads on each paw~
