Keeping Track of My Game's Lore
Been making a google doc to keep up with my video game's lore and story that way I can resolve as many plot holes as possible and keep track of stuff easily. Basically wanted to share this cuz 1) I barely have anything on here and 2) I need to make sure everything is the best that it can possibly be.
Location : Isle of Exile
Lore : An island in the South Anorian Sea that houses a fortress of unknown origin that Guarded the Rosewood of Miron. Has recently been taken over by both Torshavik of Væstrawinðr Castle, and the Demonic Forces. Torshavik used his forces of enslaved undead and prisoners alike to start a mining operation to look for the Runes of Mornscape, artifacts that are said to grant immense power to whoever wields them. They also embarked on a second operation to gather metal to make weapons and armor to conquer the world in a great and terrible war. The Demons caught onto his schemes, and set out to use the undead to find the Rune that was said to be under the island, as well as guard the Rosewood from whoever would try to use it to heal themselves, as the Rosewood sap could heal anyone of any ailments or affliction, and they don’t want anyone to live to see that they might be strong enough to resist the demons for when they enslave the world.
Location : Aggoth, Sunken City
Lore : King Murag, a terrible ruler, was cursed with Undeath by the gods for his treachery during his ruling of Skaarslin. With his body decaying and having to collect body parts to graft on his gangrenous self, he found himself upon a small ruin in Oseross. He set up his home as he had explored everything upon Miron. The ruin grew into a bustling city, Aggoth, for lepers and unwanted people alike, however, the city was built on top of a cave, and soon the city fell into the cave and everyone was killed, except Murag. Now the ruins of the city have left a scar upon the landscape, and the citizens that once lived there have now been resurrected as guardians of what they once loved.
Location : Væstrawinðr Castle
Lore : A Castle built in the frozen north by Lord Torshavik. What seems like a prosperous palace from afar is in reality a front for a mining operation to find the fabled runestones of Miron, as one is said in legend to be within the area of the castle deep beneath the permafrost. If Torshavik finds all 4 runestones, he will dominate over every kingdom on Miron. The Castle itself is seemingly a welcoming sight at first, with a bustling town at its feet. However, all of that fades once you see that it’s merely a deception, as it only houses slaves and undead. The main part of the castle has 2 noticeable towers, each with 2 bridges, one near the midpoint and one near the top, with Orlifex guarding the first bridge so noone may pass to get to the next bridge being connected to the throne room on top of the second tower. It is constantly dark and cold here, so the bridges are known to be slippery, and icy. This castle also is the northernmost inhabited single spot on all of Oseross.
Location : Portwinsk, Town of Vineyards
Lore : First location the player encounters after arriving at Oseross via the rowboat on the Isle of exile. This small town on the southernmost tip of Oseross is known for wine production which gets sold around the continent. This town remains fully intact despite the rising Demon threat, as it lays far from Vestrelinde, the capital city, and is nestled on the other side of the southern Alps.
Location : Vestrelinde, Capital City
Lore : The capital of Oseross, right in the Middle of the continent. Surrounded by a tundra valley on either side, situated on a river running straight through the valley with water that pours in from the glaciers of the frozen north. The Tundra valley, with its orange/ brown grass, is engulfed on both sides by snow capped mountains that seem to collide with one another, as they point towards each other, though are separated by a few miles. There exists a watchtower to the south, which looks over the beginning of the tundra, and a watchtower to the north, which sits on the edge of the frozen north. Vestrelinde is also the biggest city in Oseross, and is home to the grand palace which holds the throne to the Monarch of Oseross. It’s also home to the Cathedral of Saint Joric, the second biggest Cathedral in the world, the first being the Cathedral of Serrum which lie deep in the Odlands.
Location : Iqorfell, Mining town
Lore : When steel was discovered underground Iqorfell, the economy boomed and the small town was transformed into a massive mining project. Challenging verticality, the town sits on the mouth of the mine, with platforms and such leading deeper and deeper into the network of veins. Recently, it has fallen to the demons, and the mine was transformed into a gateway for the demons to pour out and exact terror upon the surrounding town.
Location : Islands of Drakheim
About : Through a hidden portal in the Southern Alps, the player can travel to the Islands of Drakheim, a series of towering mountains located in a hidden place within the Southern Anorian Sea. It is said to be the place where an unknown deity fell from the sky, and took on the form of a great dragon, and gave birth to all the dragons. Though dragons are a menace to society, as they ravage villages and cities, it is somewhat forbidden to seek them out and destroy them, as their godlike origins makes them Sacrosanct, and the poaching of such creatures would go against the first tenet. Though there exists a particular dragon which has gained incredible intelligence, and has used its mind to become a grand weapon, therefore making it free from the will of gods. Most of the dragons that reside in Drakheim are peaceful, unless outsiders attack them.
Location : Izorah
About : While Myþhafn is the feasting hall for warriors and kings in the afterlife, Heaven is the realm where other good souls reside, Mornscape is the mortal realm, Twilight is the realm where souls are judged, and Dödsrike is where evil souls and the demons reside, there exists another realm, Izorah. Having unexplainable origins, Izorah is said to be a land where the sun remains in a constant eclipse, and nebulas reign the sky. Very rarely, rifts to Izorah may appear on Miron, but with it, they bring an unexplainable affliction. Wherever a rift may open, some creatures may emerge, and people always seem to die. It is highly encouraged to never interact with these rifts.
Location : Nun Javolt
About : An ancient city in the Odlands, which houses rakes and other monsters that live in peace, Nun Javolt serves as a beacon of hope for life in the Odlands, as right outside the city is where danger lies. It is currently ruled by Allfather Lloyd, a man who had 7 daughters, the seven sisters, who act as a council for the city on Lloyd's behalf. Recently, Lloyd has become delirious due to the Odlands influence, and so has the city, with displays of brutality apparent in nearly every corner. One of the seven sisters, Genessa, wants you, the player, to kill Lloyd so that he can be put out of his misery. However, another sister, Lilianne, has the ability to telepathically talk to people, so she uses this ability to talk to you. Lilianne states that Lloyd can be cured, and the city can be restored, if only you light the 5 fires across the city, which ward off the Odlands evil nature, and then use your gobrand on Lloyd to make him see the light. Lilianne tells you this in secret because Genessa has secretly sewn all of her sister's mouths shut in an attempt to cover up her plans, which is not apparent as they all wear thick veils that conceal their faces. If the player follows through with Genessa, not only does Lloyd die, but all of the other sisters die, and Nun Javolt stays corrupted. However, if the player follows through with Lilianne, Genessa dies, Lloyd is saved, and the city begins reconstruction.
Location : Nurnun Jaevet
About : Nurnun Jaevet is a city located between the first and second Odland walls. While not technically in the ‘True Odlands’, it still nestled in a dangerous area. Nurnun Jaevet is a mostly Orcish city. The Orcs believe that Ash is the skin of their ancestors, and so they mix it with water and wear it as face paint. This is why they live in the Odlands, it endlessly rains ash. There are no interesting plots such as Nun Javolt here, just an orcish town in the middle of a wasteland.
Boss : Stone Warden
Lore : First boss of the game. The Stone Warden, like the name suggests, is the master of the Isle of Exile, a seemingly empty suit of armor made from stone that is aided by the Demons. Seemingly… oh the horror for what you’re not ready for. Beneath that stone, you may find a nightmare within. Halfway through the bossfight, his armor will crack, revealing his true form, an amalgamation of body horror and unholy energy.
Boss : Konrad of Temeros (If you fail his questline)
Lore : Konrad, a soldier that once fought in the Temerin army, is of the Rakes, a group of beings that are unloved by the Gods. He had no idea of his past until he learned that he was the spawn of a witch, which made him unloved by the Gods. If you take the bad route for his questline, the good ending being that you take him to Gorm the Priest to be baptized in Holy Water, his mind will start to decay, eventually to the point where he will turn hostile towards the player.
Boss : Commander Raegar
Lore : Enter Commander Raegar, a distinguished and formidable figure among the highest echelons of military leadership during the era of the First Demon Scourge. A master of both magic and blade, his unparalleled skills played a pivotal role in pushing back the demonic onslaught, compelling the fiends to retreat to the treacherous Ödlands alongside his militia.
As the commander who stood resolute against the encroaching darkness, Raegar's saga reached its zenith at the perilous second wall – a formidable barrier that separated the Ödlands from the realm of Oseross. While the first wall found safeguard in the vigilance of The Ashen Riders of Castle Morde, the second wall marked the frontier to the desolate Wasteland within the heart of the Ödlands.
It was at this fateful juncture that Commander Raegar met his match, confronting an Archdemon whose malevolence surpassed all others. In the ensuing clash, Raegar, though valiant, succumbed to the Archdemon's onslaught, his lifeblood staining the battlefield. In a final, desperate act, he struck a decisive blow, felling the colossal adversary even as he faced his own demise.
The aftermath of this momentous encounter bore witness to an eerie union between man and demon. As Raegar and the Archdemon fell, their blood mingled, and their flesh fused into a grotesque amalgamation. What once stood as a testament to the clash between mortal and infernal forces now manifested as a chilling spectacle of conjoined decay – a haunting reminder of the sacrifices made and the unsettling consequences borne in the face of the First Demon Scourge.
Boss : Einar, Sorcerer of the Scourge
Lore : One of the Five Knights that was commanded by Severin in the time of the First Demon Scourge, who helped push the demons back to the Odlands, and ventured into hell to face Archelaus but failed.
Einar studied Magic in Minerva for years before setting his home in Oseross. He set up the city of Covenstead in Northwestern Oseross as a place for Witches and Wizards to study magic freely, besides the art of Necromancy and all forms of Black Magic. He also studied magic under the guidance of the Elves in Airtiris before the Scourge started.
Boss : Hallbjorg, Old Pyromancer
Lore : Before dedicating his life to protecting mankind, Hallbjorg used to be a member of the wretched Crimson Moon Cult, hence how he started his studies in Pyromancy. It was said that one day he saw a light from the sky, and manifested a vision of the dark path he would walk down if he stayed under the wing of the cult. He left, and started using his powers to help others.
Boss : Ørlifex, Knight of Væstrawinðr Castle
Lore : Guarding the halfway point of the race to ascend vertically in Væstrawinðr Castle, Ørlifex is a pledged knight who will stop at nothing to make sure Torshavik melts every throne in his path to world domination. Born of the rakes, he was taken in by Torshavik for a second chance at life, and has become an incredibly powerful swordsman and mage
Boss : Freyja, Ancient Archer of the Scourge
Lore : Before becoming one of Severin’s knights to journey to hell and face Archelaus, Freyja grew up in a war-torn Qerigitaat. The Five Hundred Year war was nearing its peak in Qerigitaat, and Freyja had to do everything she could to survive, even if it meant branding a bow and arrow at just 4 years old. Through years of using a Bow and Arrow, she became one of the best archers on the entire continent of Jurrin. Eventually she heard of the Demon Scourge plaguing Oseross, and set out to help Severin. Severin was reluctant at first, not wanting to risk a woman’s life, but after he saw what Freyja was capable of, he knew he needed to have her at his side.
Boss : Leonard, Agile Swordsman of the Scourge
Lore : Being shipped off to Nadela to serve as a slave for orcs at the age of 7 was a scarring event in Leonard’s life. Though he was able to train himself to use a blade, and eventually killed his captor. This then led to him being on the run on the island-kingdom of Nadela for years, having to sprint from coast to coast, months at a time. Eventually he was able to get himself his own sword, Whitestorm, and started fighting against the Orcish Regime. Years after bringing peace to Nadela for a while, he journeyed across Miron in search of further training, yet he was the fastest slice-n-dicer in the entire world. When the time of the First Demon Scourge came, he was ready to take on the challenge of bringing a Demon God to its knees, so he joined Severin.
Boss : Tosha Makur, First Martyr of the Crimson Moon
Lore : Having read all religious texts, Tosha realized something ; how come whenever humanity is in need of something, the gods always sit on their thrones in the High Heavens and bat no eye towards the suffering of man. This led him down the path to creating the first and most notorious organization of Blasphemy, The Crimson Moon Cult. With him preaching words against the gods, other people soon realized that what he was saying was right, and soon the cult grew to an enormous number. He had a grand temple constructed in the Odlands where him and his disciples may worship in peace from the Zealots of the Church. Soon enough, the cult was able to summon the Demon God, Archelaus, and thus started the First Demon Scourge. When Severin and his Knights stormed the Temple on their way to the portal to hell, Tosha Makur stopped them in their tracks, and Hallbjorg, an ex-member of the cult, was the one to drive the blade into Tosha, cementing him as the first martyr.
NPC : Bjorn, Stoic Warrior of the Scourge
Lore : Having just barely survived the onslaught unleashed by Archelaus, Bjorn was able to escape hell and live out the rest of his life in secrecy, until his eventual passing. Bjorn was first raised In the caliphate of Saarthus, a desert land that bordered Khaqara to the south. In Saarthus, it is considered Tradition for the men to build the house for the family, brick-by-brick. Working endlessly through Day and Night, Bjorn constructed a grand house for him and his family, in turn developing his strength to monumental heights. Bjorn eventually grew tired from the heat of Saarthus, and moved to Oseross in search of a more cool, refreshing change of scenery. He came to Oseross with no money, yet worked as a mercenary in order to feed himself. He was unmatched in every encounter he came across, being able to slice an opponent from head to toe, straight down the middle, in one swing of his sword. He was eventually approached by Severin, being asked to serve as a Knight in the Oserran Military. Bjorn agreed, and the rest is history.
Boss : Serrum, Fallen Angel of War
Lore : Sent down to mortal realm from the heavens, Serrum intended to cleanse the Ödlands of its demonic energy by building a might cathedral in the heart of it on hopes that the divine power would spread throughout it. The plan failed, and the dark forces of the Ödlands corrupted the cathedral, and everyone inside, including Serrum. What now lies is a empty husk, unliving and hollowed.
Boss : Jerranyne, The Brand Hunter
Lore : A human was tortured to death by the hands of the Archdemons in a cruel and sadistic ritual, and in turn it birthed a new demon. Tasked with exterminating everyone who carries a godbrand, the new demon, Jerranyne, endlessly wanders Miron with a Thorned sword and Sorceries in order to slay everyone with a godbrand. Whenever he slays one bearing a brand, he draws their brand on his robe with their own blood as a way to collect a trophy.
Boss : Joseph, Scholar of Divinity (when you complete his questline)
Lore : Dedicating his whole life to studying the Moriist Religion, Joseph has recently found out about a place called the Autem Sanctorum, a place rumored to house a sprouting Rosewood tree. He wants to use the tree's power to heal his dying child, so he tasks you with finding its location. The questline eventually leads you to a chapel in the Eastern Fjords. When you get there, Joseph will have turned into a demon, as a weak demon has been lurking in the chapel and has possessed Joseph. Joseph grows 4 arms, loses his skin, and turns into a gray monster. You eventually kill Joseph, but then find out the Autem Sanctorum was a lie, damning his child to a slow death.
Boss : Severin, Old King of Oseross
Lore : King of Oseross 500 years before the game starts. He led him and his Knights into the heat of hell to kill Archelaus, the demon God. The plan failed and severin fell Harder than his knights. His soul was twisted into a perverted version of itself. You find the soul of severin at the end of the great Scourge memorial, albeit nothing of the glory that Severin once held.
Boss : Archelaus, The Demon King
Lore : Once a God of the Pantheon who used his charisma to influence the other gods to give him some of their power, he was eventually banished from Heaven and cast to the underworld. Now he is the Ruler of Hell, Archelaus. The most evil, wicked, abhorrent thing you could ever imagine put into one being. During the first Demon Scourge, Archelaus rained his malice upon Miron, collapsing entire kingdoms until he was eventually confronted by Severin and the 5 knights. Though he did nearly die, a god doesn’t die… forever.
Boss : Coagulated Landscape of the Ödlands
Lore : A battle took place in its arena during the first Scourge, and the blood of every demon soldier that died on the battlefield fused together with the surrounding area of the Ödlands, creating a gargantuan beast made of rock, trees , and death itself. The horn on the another of the beast is Rocky and jagged, like a mountain, and each tooth in its gaping maw is the size of a small tree. Sometimes, it poses itself in a position where it looks like it's eating the eclipse of the sun, signaling the end of days, where Mornscape turns into Midscape. Midscape, in the Moriist Religion, is said to be the time of a trillion years, where every star in the sky turns to ash, bringing about the death of everything.
Boss : Jorris, Lord of Obsidian
Lore : Having run away from home as a child due to his village being raided by a dragon, Jorris ran and ran until eventually discovering a cave inside of the Southern Alps. In the cave, he founded his own home, and soon established the Obsidian City, a City where Obsidian was used to forge the palace, and the knights were adorned in Obsidian Armor. The underground city was prospering, as it served as a way for unwanted people, though not Rakes, to be given a second chance at life, similar to Aggoth, though Aggoth fell many years before the city was founded. Prior to the events of the game though, the Demonic energy from Archelaus’ demon army was rapturing chaos that was around the Obsidian City. Then, a rift to Izorah opened up, which then spread the Nebular Affliction throughout the city. The denizens of the city were going mad, being in one of the worst places imaginable. Jorris tried to evacuate everyone, but soon everyone fell to the hands of the demons, and the nebular affliction, creating an environment drenched in both fire and cosmic horror. While many of the citizens either died or went crazy, Jorris had it the worst. His mind was flayed from the demonic energy, and the nebular rot changed his body, turning him into a beast that looked as if it came from an entirely different galaxy, something horrifying, and unknown. The real Jorris is gone, only a demonic reflection of his former self remains.
Boss : Ærndrath, the Enslaver
About : Ærndrath is the Wyvern mentioned in the excerpt about Drakheim that has gained incredible intelligence, and has turned into a weapon against the rest of the world. This grand wyvern has a plan in mind, he wants to turn dragons and men into weapons of destruction to conquer the world, while also taking on the forces of Torshavik. Having cast aside his godly origins, the gods saw this as treason, and have made it moral to seek out and destroy this wyvern, before he can put his grand plan of world domination into motion.
Boss : Tyroth of the Silver Alliance
About : Once a member of the silver alliance, he was kicked out for being too brutal. He then went to the Cathedral of Serrum, in an attempt to help his guiding angel with cleansing the Odlands. The Odlands took his mind, and he now sees everything as a heretic. He now resides in the lowest chamber of the cathedral, practicing his methods of torture on anything that breathes.
Thing : Mornscape
About : As the real world is to the Universe, the world of Bloodlust is to the Mornscape. The only thing is that Mornscape is based on the different times of day. Day goes MORNing, hence the name MORNscape. This is because the Universe in the world of Bloodlust is only in its infancy, around 6 billion years old. Once a trillion years passes, the Mornscape shifts into the Evescape. Which lasts 100 trillion years. Once the Evescape passes, the Midscape begins. The Midscape is when the Universe eventually dies out, with every star in the sky fading away, and eventually the slow, cold death of every galaxy.
Thing : Ödlands
About : Mysterious as it is Deadly, the Ödlands are a part of Oseross that are endless rocky fields with pools of sulfur and lava. Snow capped mountains are a lie, it is all ash, not snow. It snows ash. It rains tears from the gods for all the horror that can happen here. The Ödlands seem to have a mind of its own, shifting ever so slightly, erecting mountains and pulling canyons every so often. It may spawn monsters, and terrors alike. It may take your life, and bury you in its embers. It may swallow your very soul, and rot you into one of its own.
Thing : Rake
About : A rake is a human, or being, unloved by both gods and demons. They are the bitter gall of Miron, whether it be a curse placed on their ancestors, or other means to turn the immortal's eyes. Pariahs of Society, unwelcome even in tribal camps. Known to be extremely hostile in certain cases. Otherwise, very miserable people.
Thing : The Godbrand
About : The Godbrand is a mark of Ichor placed upon a chosen individual's hand. Not all Godbrands are the same though. Some may give unique power, some may show a rank. Even if your hand were to be cut off, the brand would be tied to your very soul, following you to the Heavens. You, the player however, are branded with a brand of your own, the brand that grants you strength, and the ability to never truly die.
Thing : Moriist Religion
About : The Religion to the People of Oseross, and most of the world. The Pantheon is worshiped with gods and goddesses including but not limited to : Avir - Goddess of Life and Ruler of the Pantheon, Norron - God of Nature, Lørace - God of the Sea and Seafaring, Yuris - God of War and Strength, Velis - Goddess of Love and Intimacy, Arceus - Blacksmith God.
While the gods are worshiped, it is important to follow the Five Tenets
That which lies Sacrosanct must never be defiled
Thou shalt not toy with life
Thou shalt not brandish yarn
Honor thy dead, lest thy dead lie in sin
Stray from the light, and the dark may swallow you
Thing : The Nebular Affliction
About : A disease of unknown origin to the people of Miron, but one that wreaks havoc wherever it touches. Spread by unknown origin, though some speculate it comes from the sky, when the dust from a dying star touches someone, others suggest a more supernatural entity is the cause, one beyond our imagination. Whenever someone catches the disease, they first seem normal, but soon they can just die without any warning. The few that manage to survive the Affliction turn into something that isn’t human, a being that has transcended the mortal plane, one that can see everything that once was, is, and will be. They may grow tentacles, or extra limbs, or turn into something completely unrecognizable. Either way, if you or someone you know catches the Affliction, not even the gods can save you.
Thing : The Races of Miron
About : There exists many races of beings on Miron. First there’s the Lyrian race, an ancient and forgotten race of humanoids that came from the eternally icy regions of Kaltraak, located in the South Pole of Miron. Soon, they ventured out across all parts of the world, and evolved into many different races. There’s the standard human, which dominates the majority of the world. There’s the Dyr race, which originated in Dyreland, and are half human/ half animal hybrids that share strong ties to Norron, God of Nature. There’s the Orc race, originating from the land of Nadela, with tusks and dark skin, they are naturally ferocious warriors. There’s the race of the Rakes, accursed by the gods when a man committed murder, and his lineage was then cursed to be rakes. Not all rakes are descendants though, as is apparent with Konrad of Temeros. There’s the Elves, without a native homeland, though they share a high understanding of magic and nature.
There exists a number of other races that haven’t been discovered, but there are some hints as to what the Lyrians were like. The Lyrians were said to have been the only race and civilization to worship ‘The One’, a being depicted as an angel-winged whale that swims through the stars and nebulas of the Mornscape. It is also theorized that they were the ones to have constructed the fortress on the Isle of Exile, as there exists altars and statues depicting a whale. The One is not worshiped in the world today however, as its legend has been lost to time in place of the Pantheon of Gods.
Thing : Ancient Burial Sites
About : Throughout Oseran history, honored dead have been buried in Tombs, unlike common folk who were buried in cemeteries. These individuals would have been knights, warriors, or even rulers. Though the dead may rest, some of them may turn into a creature known as a Haugbui, a type of Draugr that has been filled with greed due to owning treasure in the mortal realm, whether its wealth, or a named weapon. These Haugbui are incredibly dangerous, as they feel no pain and breathe a life beyond their own, though if someone manages to kill one of them, the Haug will return to slumber forever. These Tombs were meant to house the Haug and Draugr, keeping them from escaping out into civilization.
Event : The First Demon Scourge
About : Did it start because of the Crimson Moon Cult awakening Archelaus? Did it start because the gods abandoned mankind due to overflowing sin? Did it start because Archelaus was ready to exact vengeance on the Pantheon? Nobody knows for sure. It all started when an unnamed Dyr knight arrived in Velstand to spread news about Demons attacking his village in Dyreland. Quickly, the Scourge started to spread throughout all parts of the world, Oreshna, a country made up of islands, was starting to see demonic activity, The Caliphate of Saarthus and Kingdom of Khaqara were experiencing mysterious deaths in their deserts, Caledon was already formulating a plan to push back the demons, and finally, Oseross was on the brink of total annihilation.
Then came King Severin of Oseross. Taking him and his 5 knights to the doorstep of Archelaus, traversing the deadly Odlands and making it to the grand tower that held the portal to hell. They traversed the deepest depths of hell to face off against Archelaus. They were unsuccessful, as they all died, but in turn, Archelaus took him and his demons and closed the gates to hell, which have remained closed… until now
Event : Archelaus’ past
About : Archelaus was said to be an angel in the Pantheon, a friend of Serrum, the battle Angel. Archelaus, though not his angelic name as it has been forgotten, was unhappy with his placement in the Pantheon, as he wanted to be a god so he could play with the pawns of humanity. Scheming up a plan, he convinced the gods that humanity was suffering, and that he knew a way to make them happy again, and that the only way he could do it was if the Gods each gave him a fraction of their power. At first, they all found him dumb, but eventually fell under the guise that humanity was really suffering, so each of the gods agreed, and gave Archelaus a bit of their power. With the strength of every god flowing inside of him, Archelaus began toying with life, breaking one of the Five Tenets. Soon, the gods realized that they had been betrayed, and confronted Archelaus, but Archelaus was already too powerful. In a battle between the entire Pantheon against Archelaus, Archelaus prevailed over everything, and even turned a few angels against the Pantheon. The Gods banded together to form a plan, and they eventually weakened Archelaus, and sent him and the angels he turned to Hell, where they would be locked away forever. The power of the gods, writhing within Archelaus, twisted and perverted him and the fallen angels, turning the angels into the Archdemons, and Archelaus into what he is now, the Demon God.
Character : Archpriest Gorm of Vestrelinde
Lore : Gorm has been a long time friend of the current monarch of Oseross, King Brynjarr Holstein. Gorm serves as Archpriest, handing out religious duties and such to all the other priests and scholars in Oseross. He plays a few roles in some Questlines, for instance Konrad of Temeros’ questline, and also Joseph, the Divine Scholar’s questline. He can also teach Holy Magic to the player, for a price though. Because he is the Archpriest though, he cannot love another person, for he is married to the gods of the pantheon, and has also been castrated, as is customary with every high-ranking priest
Character: King Brynjarr Holstein of Oseross
Lore : Brynjarr Holstein is the current Monarch of Oseross, who influences all around him to commit his will, and pay their fair share of tax. He may assist the player on a quest that takes place within the Crooked Woods, an highly dangerous area south of the city of Covenstead, to fight an Archdemon. He also leads the battle during the midpoint of the game, where the demons attack Vestrelinde. However, if the player doesn’t exceed during this battle, whether they don’t kill enough demons, or through other means, Brynjarr dies.
Character : Prince Godwin of Oseross
Lore : Son of Brynjarr, Godwin has been born in Leprosy, forcing him to wear a silver mask wherever he goes. He also wishes to learn more about the Moriist religion, as he bears necklaces of the Moriist Symbol at all times. If Brynjarr dies during the Battle of Vestrelinde, Godwin takes the throne. This will also start a quest to attend Brynjarr’s Funeral in the Frozen North, where Godwin sends Brynjarr’s body on a rowboat out towards the freezing ocean, and lights it on fire with a flaming arrow, as Brynjarr wanted it to be what happens to his body after he passes. If Brynjarr survives, however, Godwin doesn’t take the throne, but instead offers the player a quest to take him to the Rosewood tree to cure him of his Leprosy. This takes the player back to the Isle of Exile, which will be overrun with demons. If the player succeeds in this quest, Godwin becomes healthy for the first time in his life.
Enemy : Draugr
About : Living dead. Weak and Frail, probably the first enemy a player faces in their playthrough. These creatures have gray, wrinkly skin, and bear no eyes, hence the erratic attacks they oftenly do. Some Draugr, however, are more powerful than their weaker counterparts, donning glowing eyes and sometimes old, rusty armor.
Enemy : Demon Scout
About : The weakest type of Demon, these scouts are mere fodder in the Archelan Army. Barely representing the horrific nature and appearance as their more powerful counterparts, these scouts may pose a threat for brand new players. For more experienced players however, they’re a joke.
Enemy : Demon Soldier
About : Stronger than the Scout, soldiers have true weapons, that is the only difference.
Boss Enemy : Krøgærïan Knights
About : Hailing from the Krøgærïan Isles, far from land yet closest to Kaltraak, Krøgærïan Knights have become exceedingly rare, with only a few left in existence, though a few remain dormant in Oseross’ far reaches. They were created when Lyrians evolved into humanoids that grew much larger than normal humans. Though their name remains lost, a rift to Izorah opened in the Isles, the biggest rift ever, which engulfed the Isles, spreading the Nebular Affliction everywhere. Though the Knights look normal in their suits of Heavy Armor, their limbs and minds have been frayed beyond imagination, with some possessing different abilities than others. For instance, one Knight may be able to Breathe the Rot and infect anyone caught in the cloud, while another may be able to extend its limbs outwards, or another could fling acid from its hand.

There exists a watchtower to the south, which looks over the beginning of the tundra, and a watchtower to the north, which sits on the edge of the frozen north. Vestrelinde is also the biggest city in Oseross, and is home to the grand palace which holds the throne to the Monarch of Oseross. Though dragons are a menace to society, as they ravage villages and cities, it is somewhat forbidden to seek them out and destroy them, as their godlike origins makes them Sacrosanct, and the poaching of such creatures would go against the first tenet. Most of the dragons that reside in Drakheim are peaceful, unless outsiders attack them.

Thing : Moriist Religion
About : The Religion to the People of Oseross, and most of the world.
