Grated cheese is tastier than when it's still in a block. Also, it looks like you have more of it.
i did this in home-ec class back in 6th grade. teacher was laughing cuz i was only supposed to use like 1/3 the brick, but my paper for the recipe literally had it as "1 brick" (the /3 got rubbed off...lol)
