Gem cutting is a body modification process practiced first and primarily by the Starcrafters! The practice originated on Dragonsback Island, but has since spread to all corners of Jo'arca. Gem cutting is considered highly dangerous, since it can compromise the integrity of a stardragon's gem (which is the source of their magic and life, essentially their 'soul'.)

So just out of curiosity, are there no legendary cuts? Not that I could possibly guess what that might entail.
Yeah honestly we have no idea what that could even entail lol. The legendaries have so many traits already and are so rare that I figure it doesn't matter for now. At least until I can have a stroke of creativity lol. But we will be doing more on gem decoration and jewelry! Gem cutting isn't the only form of gem beautification ;0!
My original idea for robber's gem is that it had a hollow cavity to store stuff in but wasnt sure where that fit in so I left it out. I'd assume robbers don't have a separate category but in case anyone else wanted to follow this idea in the future where would it fit?
Responds to you here so peeps can see this who aren't in Discord!
It wasn't something considered. The chest cavity the gem sits within is hollow and people can have their StarRobber store stuff in that. However since Robbers run on Helgin's own brand of magic rather than the magic of their gem, and some Robbers are even without their gems, if they wanted to have the gem hollowed out, they're free to :0?

Nice! So I guess at some point my dasher Cryl decided to get a flame engraving?
I want to have a crafter made (has a rare crafter ticket thing that still needs useing) I want his gems to look like hears would that be a common? I might go a step further and add neat engraveing if I come up with any.

Gears would be common, yes, and if they put engravings into it, that'd be uncommon.
Mabs was thinking about getting a StarDragon who got a dick engraved into their gem while they were sleeping during a party
what would it look like though? you would have to think hard because it will be the canon dick shape for stardragons!
It's more of an artistic freedom thing Raptor did! So not actually a lore related thing.
Tho it is a neat idea if people would like to do it.

Most unfortunate for that starshooter :) welp gotta break the rest to make it match now, but on the bright side you get 4 matching coasters out of it :D
Curious about star robbers. Since they are already dead, would this be possible to damage their crystals more?? They can't die again can they????
Is it possible that their gems could become a large shard (most of the gem intacked but damaged) with smaller shards floating around the outside of it?? Like around the starShooter's tails
I'm actually curious to the answer to Ven's question above me. For starrobers, or any stardragon, would you be able to have small shards of gem floating around a larger gem, and if so what rarity would it fall under?? (As in would it be, common, uncommon, etc).
Generally, if a stardragon's gem becomes fragmented, the parts that fall from the primary gem-fragment will lose their power and become inert...thus no longer to be held up by the magic. In much a similar way that if a stareater's gem had a piece broken off...that piece would lose its magic and fall away.
There are some stardragons such as dashers or weavers who have a multi-gem trait (uncommon according to their trait sheets) in which smaller gems can float around a larger one...but those gems are their own unique gem and not a fragment of the larger one.

Aah I see. Thank you so much for answering!! A lot of info about starrobers is so vaguely explained, and they're one of my favorites so I'm trying to learn as much as I can about them as I design my starrobber X3
A StarDragon?
Raptorslut and Deletethestars sell them! And we also make sales/trade journals where people will trade/sell their StarDragons!
We have a Discord too where people could assist you?
At least once a year we have a MYO as well, but we already had our MYO this year!
