This is way I have so far for the prop gun I am making for my soldier/mercencary costume to fit in with the cyberpunk theme at this year's ACFI con coming up. I painted over the orginal mostly blue plastic with a hopefully realistic paint job. I might have gone a little too crazy with the worn, chipped paint work. The previous post describe how I did it and it wasn't that hard to do. Just apply some gel around the edges on top of the silver paint and then rub it off once the black overcoat dries.
My next step is to extend the barrel. I am thinking about 12 to 20 inches or so. Add a some sore of front grip is planned as well. Also a butt plate or a short butt stock slapped on the end would be a nice addition.
My final steps would be adding some flashing lights activated when pulling the trigger. I am going to have to find a way of attaching a switch to it. Probably using a microswitch. If I have time, I'll figure out some more stuff to do it.
Let me know what you think so far. Any ideas or suggestions?

It says XV-700 on the side, which turns out to be Rival Apollo. I got it cheap from Goodwill. I like to scour there as well as thrift stores for props and whatnot.
The gun was jammed up I didn't care as was going to heavily mod it anyway. I am making that extended barrel and it already looks much more balanced. Still figuring out what to do for the butt stock. Then add a bunch of flashing LEDs toward the end if I have time to cyberpunk it out.
