Tales of a Magician: Halloween special
I don't do a lot of holiday themed stories. Mostly because by the time I decide to do one...the event is only 3 or 4 days away and I'd be waaay behind in posting it. This one I spent a good month long working on and I have to say I'm satisfied with it's length and the way the story went. Please do enjoy, and if you like, perhaps I'll make more stories of Neuron and his adventures on his Travels.
CAUTION: This story contains Soft vore, Soul vore (Kinda?) Transformation, and well...lots of Pokémon Stuff
Neuron and Calamity both belong to me
Pokémon belongs to Nintendo and Gamefreak.
Tales of a Magician: Halloween special
It was a casual night. No rain, no clouds, just the moon light and the occasional street light that lit up the normally busy corners of town. Stepping down the quiet street was a Kadabra, who was dressed kind of posh for the kind of area he was walking in. He wore a top hat that most magicians were known to be wearing, and a red tux that faintly glimmered in the moonlight. While he wasn't prone to wearing such flashy clothes, he made it a habit to wear this particular tuxedo wherever he went, and kept it in clean, prestine condition, afterall! It was one of a kind.
The Kadabra, who's name was Neuron, snickered at his thoughts and looked down the street and could see Jack o lanterns sitting out in front of buisinesses, with orange banners hanging down from a few of them, wishing people a happy halloween, while others had blow up inflatables of Pumpkaboo. and Dusknoir's blowing in the wind in front of their shops. It made Neuron happy for the season and glad that he chose this town in particular to do his magic show for Halloween.
There would be the occasional tap as his toe claws clacked against the pavement. He wasn't a fan of closed sneakers or open toed sandals so he decided what was best was to use his own natural bare feet to traverse the world around him. He would hum to some music he'd heard on the radio an hour or so ago when one of the lights suddenly dimmed and went black. It wasn't unheard of for a street light to go bad, but he didn't want to risk someone getting hurt due to poor visibility of the night.
Halloween was tomorrow night, and it'd be no fun for the children if they had the fear of the dark to worry about. His eyes started glowing a bright pink as he hovered up towards the broken light. He was slow in his ascent, because he didn't want to risk losing his top hat. "Now...let's see..."
The Kadabra lifted a clawed finger towards the glass, but stopped midway when he heard screaming. It sounded young, as his ears twitched he estimated maybe...no older than 12... He made a quick tapping motion on the street light's glass and the bulb started shining again. What he saw was a pair of black sillouettes running from the local children's park.
Scanning the area with his eyes, Neuron would find a pair of anthro tabby's. One was male and orange while the other had a more snowy grey fur coat and female. He looked them over and realized they were both maybe 10 to 12 years old just as his ears suggested they would be. Both were holding each other in their arms so he assumed they might be siblings or cousins perhaps?
"What's the matter children?" Neuron used a bit of his own psychic power, unique to his own being, to form a light in the middle of the park that would center around them
The young male, who'd been trembling alongside the little girl, looked up at the Kadabra's eyes and a warmth of relief seemed to wash over him as he stopped shaking. "O-Oh Mister Neuron! You're the one doing a magic show tomorrow evening right?"
"That's right." Neuron lifted his top hat and bowed. A second later a small Buneary poked it's head out of the hat's opening and climbed into the boy's lap. "Speak to me child, what has happened to make you cry?"
The cub watched the Buneary snuggle up to him, and started petting it's head as a means of comfort. "Well...There were a few guys that walked up to me and my cousin here in the park. We were just practicing for Halloween, how we could be spooky trick or treaters when those guys ran up to is and said that we had to give them all of our candy tomorrow or else..."
As Neuron listened to the tale of the boy, and while his face remained calm, he was definitely upset. "Were they kids that were threatening you?"
"No...it was-" The kid was cut off when Neuron placed a hand over his head. It was both a means to reassure the boy, as well as a chance for Neuron to get a more descriptive look of the people in question who'd threatened the kids. It was normally a huge invasion of privacy to read someone's mind. And Neuron reserved that kind of treatment to the most wicked of people, but Children were young, and their descriptions can me muddled by their purity and fear of retaliation. It didn't take long for Neuron to Siphon through the last half hour of the boy's day to see who the culprits were...there were four of them. Two vulpines...A red fox and an orange one, both male. The third was an Anthro turtlr...sea turtle by the looks of it. WHY there was a turtle species so far inland he didn't even know. Maybe they were just passing through like him? Lastly was a grey furred wolf who's body type was that of your typical body builder and it was apparent he was the ringleader.
"I see...All adults...Don't you worry my dears...Nobody will harm you." He watched the Buneary start to nuzzle into the boy's cheek and the Kadabra couldn't help but tip his hat again. "You can keep that little guy. Make sure you take care of him okay?" He snapped his fingers and the two children dissapeared in front of him. He'd sent them off to their home so they'd not have to risk bumping into more troublesome people in the dark of the night.
"Now then..." Neuron tapped his chin...the Kadabra was not at all happy about blackmail and threats. The problem was his rule against violence. He was not a vengeful person either, but he could not excuse the act of intimidation on a child. "I think I have an idea...I'm sure HE would love to take part in this..."
While nobody was watching him, Neuron still loved to make a show out of everything he did, so with his tacky red cape, he wrapped it around his body and used teleport to exit the city. It would only take a few seconds, and Neuron would reappear, cape and all, in a rather eerie looking forest. What made it such a disturbing landscape was threefold... Each tree that made up this particular forest had no leaves. They were lifeless all year round, and yet the still loved to shuffle and shift around as if they were still brimming with life. The second was that no outside light or to be more specific, sun or moon light ever seemed to touch the place, almost as if this dead forest was stuck in a perpetual eclipse. Lastly...in regards to there being no light, there was in fact some. pinpoints of light that would glide along the area, some had shapes that resembled people, whlie others were more animalistic in their appearances...It was the main reason why this place had the nickname... "Forest of Lost Souls." Neuron stepped into the forest, undetered by the darkness, and even saw fit to use the souls that occupied this land as his lantern to guide the way. "Now then...where might you be old friend..."
just as the Kadabra had made his way deep into the depths of the forest, he felt a shadow creeping over him. While this shouldn't have been possible given the lack of moonlight, the souls gave off enough illumination that he could indeed cast a shadow. Though his shadow was way too deformed...it looked nothing like a Kadabra might...and was more spherical with two detached hands off to it's side. With a wave of his clawed hand, he decided to address his companion. "How many people do you drag into this place with that trick. You already know your scare tactics don't affect me my friend."
The shadow started taking a more pronounced shape, becoming a Haunter, and a big one at that, which started floating around Neuron. His name was Calamity, and for a few reasons. He was the guardian of this forest, and legend had it that this was one of the main focal points where the dead departed the physical world to go on to their next life.He was charged with protecting this place and in exchange....he could dine on as many souls within it's domain as he wished, provided he helped them move on to the next plane of existance. The Haunter reached forward to place a detatched hand over Neuron's shoulder. "A few every now and then...the living can be pretty fun to coax into horrific situations." The Haunter cackled, seeing no issue with scaring living creatures, physically or mentally it seemed. "But hey...the moment they step into this place, they already submit themselves to my whims...whether they intended to or not."
Neuron simply nodded to the ghostly pokemon. "And I suppose that includes me. Is that what you're getting at?"
"heh..." Calamity took a clawed hand away from Neuron's shoulder and started floating towards his head, hands raised upwards defensively. "I tried that the last time and you turned me into a mask because -you wanted to be festive- last halloween."
When the Haunter visibly shook in front of him, Neuron let out an amused chuckle. He covered his muzzle a half second later in an attempt to be polite, until the smile faded from his lips again. "I don't intend to do that again this year. But I could use your help"
"Hmmm...the great Neuron...a Kadabra who's psychic prowess even humbled MEWTWO with little effort... is asking for my help?" This time it was Calamity's turn to laugh, and unlike Neuron, he didn't attempt to cover up his big mouth. "Sorry, but I've got my hands full here in my forest."
Taking his hat off, Neuron pulled out what was a small soul out of it's depths. "Here. In my travels, I've found many who passed, but couldn't find one of the four focal points to the next life. I'm sure this should be enough to...whet...your appetite."
At the mention of souls that couldn't find their way, Calamity took a peek at the brilliantly glowing spirit in Neuron's hand and could tell it was one of a more innocent nature. Taking it in his claws, Calamity opened his mouth and swallowed it in a quick gulp. His belly would glow for a few minutes before the glow faded. "I have a soft spot for the pure ones...I guess you have my attention. But I'll have to deliver those souls you've brought for me to their next destination by the end of the night."
"That won't be a problem. I need you for tomorrow night, not this one." Neuron reassured, making sure that their schedules would be clear for what he had planned. "As for what I need you for..."
It didn't take Neuron long to explain what transpired in the city. by the end of Neuron's recollection of what happened to the two children, Calamity was tapping his claws against one another. "While I don't really care about what happens to children or adults...From what you're telling me, you want me to help you be rid of those bullies?"
"I don't condone violence. But I do know you have no such qualms about what happens to the living, good or bad ones. If you're willing to work with me on this though...And do exactly as I say, then if they went missing, I'd be willnig to look the other way." Neuron winked knowingly.
"Oh please...that outfit you're wearing is made from people who've crossed you. Don't act like you don't met out punishment when someone offends you." Calamity remarked, casually tapping the tuxedo that Neuron was prone to wearing. He knew what..or rather WHOM, the outfit was. "Yeah you don't have to say it. You only do it to people that deserve it. Still, don't act like you're mightier than thou."
Neuron tilted his head to the side, and replied with a smirk on his muzzle. "I'm supposed to be the psychic here...Anyway if you're interested then here's my plan..."
The next day everything was set up for Neuron's magic show. The stage that he was performing on had been built by the town's volunteer committee, which he had to admit did an outstanding job. It was advertised as a free event, so instead of using the city's theatre to perform his tricks, he insisted that they build a small stage for him to work on. And they did, a half circular stage made up the platform that he would step on and perform his routines. There was no backstage curtains to hide Neuron's approach, no hiding the staff of the show. As part of his routine, he did not want to give anyone room to believe that there was deception behind his intention, and while there were a few people here and there, working to put the finishing touches on the stage...a few banners along the corners of the stage with neuron's grinning face plastered over it. Streamers decorated the "roof" of the stage but really all it was is a thin sheet of wood that stretcched out over half the stage in case rain suddenly found it's way into the town.
It was hitting noon, and Neuron was standing eventfully on stage, twirling a cane idly as the crowds started forming around his location. Everyone knew that his show would begin as the last bell of school rang, so the parents, as well as their children could all come together to enjoy the show. The day was good. No clouds were in the sky, and the cool autumn breeze in the air was enough that everyone felt comfortable out in the middle of the park.
"Hmmm...two...no...three hundred people. This is a pretty good crowd..." Neuron muttered to himself on stage. He had no doubt some of the more canine residents that were sitting in front of the stage caught wind of that, but he simply twirled his cane once more before holding it perpendicular to the stage floor and tapped it, three times. It was enough to get everyone to turn their attention to him, and he started pacing to the left, to the right. He stared at each person in attendance with a thoughtful smile on his face. "It's been a long month hasn't it everyone? Heavy rain...cold weather...Heck just the other day I saw a Jack O Lantern roll past me when I was walking to the cake shop!"
His eyes glowed faintly for a few seconds, and a projection of a Pumpkin with a Pikachu carved into it's center, rolled past the Kadabra. This got a laugh out of some of the younger folks that came to his show. "Ah but I'm not very good with jokes. Not unless I happen to trip into them. No you came for magic! And boy do I have some treats for everyone in this park. Maybe even a few tricks too." He winked, pulling the top hat he was wearing and letting it roll along the length of his arm by the trim before bending his elbow upwards to watch the hat leap into the air with an arch. Neuron grabbed the edge of his hat and did one 360 degree spin, before waving the hat in front of the crowd, through it's gap came a flock of pidgey that flew into the crowd.
Everyone oooooooh'd as the flock of birds flew over their heads. Especially the children, who's eyes would light up at the idea that real magic might actually exist in the world. It gave them hope, and seeing those young eyes beaming with joy put a smile on the psychic's lips. It was why he did shows like this during his travels and why he would keep doing them until the world made him think he could do more otherwise. "Oh come now, you are already so surprised, and my real magic hasn't even begun." He noticed the two young cubs from the night before, standing in the front row, and gave them both a small wink, having also spotted the Buneary he'd given to them, laying in the girl's lap.
"So you've all come here to see some real magic yes? I'm going to give it to you all in small chunks at a time. By the end of this magic show, I bet even some adults will believe that there is real magic out there in the world. How about I demonstrate right now!" The Kadabra scanned along the crowd. He could see that many of the children were eager to be Neuron's assistant for the coming tricks, and he'd happily allow each of them to have a turn on stage, but he noticed someone from last night's visions coming into view. It was a red furred vulpine, the very same from the memories of the young male cub.
The red furred fox was standing somewhere in the back of the crowd, alongside his orange pelted counterpart. The two of them were snacking on a few pieces of sweets that were most likely taken from some poor kid before the trick or treating even began. The look on Neuron's eyes were passive however. There was no hint of anger and resentment from the psychic type that the two vulpines remained where they stood, and had even perked their ears when Neuron pointed a claw at them. "You!"
The red fox pointed at himself, then at his partner and then at Neuron. "Ahem...you want..us?"
"No no. I want you. I need someone like you for my next act. It'll be harmless I promise." He spoke reassuringly to the red fox, and with a tap of his toe claws, the wooden planks that made up the stage started expanding, stretching out to give his "lucky" assistant his own grand entrance.
The fox, albiet unnerved that the Kadabra was putting a spotlight on him, he walked up anyway. He knew very well that if the Psychic wanted him enough, he could simply teleport him up there, and going up there of his own accord was a courtesy more than anything. He took careful steps along the ramp that stretched out to meet him. He heard ooh's and surprised murmurings behind him and turned to see what all the fuss about him walking was about and saw it. The wood planks were actually retracting in pace with his footsteps. By the time he'd made it to the performance stage, the wooden planks were back in their natural resting position. "Was that what you needed me for sir Kadabra?"
Neuron laughed, waving his wand out in front of the fox. "No no not at all. I just have a flair for the dramatic. Now then..." Neuron started removing the cape from his back and pointed to the center of the performance stage. "Come sit right here. I'd like you to with with your knees up and your arms around your legs, kind of like you're curling up into a ball."
"Such a strange request...Can't one of the kids do it?" The red fox asked, sitting down in the position the Kadabra had instructed.
"OH no not at all. For something like this, I'm sure it would terrify a small child. But a grown man such as yourself should have no problems whatsoever." Neuron assured, but before the fox could ask him WHY, the cape was drapped over his body, concealing it. The interesting thing about this was that as the cape fell over the fox, it would flatten out! As if the fox hadn't been on stage to begin with!
It was dark...very dark. The Fox was disoriented by the blackness until he spotted a couple of large glow flies. At least...that's what his brain came up with so he could maintain his sanity. It was also incredibly dark which made no sense...the sun was still out when the magic show had begin. "Where...the hell am I...?"
The fox would stand up straight, and walk in a random direction, not knowing which way would get him out of the eerie, dead forest, when he suddenly felt a chilling, wet lick across the back of his neck.
Turning around, the Fox saw nothing aside from his own shadow being cast by the glowing *flies* that surrounded him. His shadow was moving away from him...It was strange...to see his own shadow trying to get away from him. "Wait...what IS that thing..."
Suddenly, his shadow was becoming a bit more detailed...shaping itself into a more circular shape with jagged edges that more closely resembled...his eyes paled when he realized just what it was. A Haunter was coming out of his shadow...actually it was more accurate to say he was SWALLOWING it. The red furred fox didn't have any other choice but to watch as his dark reflection was being consumed... "This can't be possible...what are you doing to my shadow?"
There wasn't a reply...the ghost simply continued to stuff the whole of the Vulpine's shadow into it's jaws, and with one final smack of his lips, it was gone.
Back at the magic show, Neuron casually picked up his cape which was laying flat on stage. "As you can see, our fox friend is nowhere to be seen! Where oh where could be be I wonder."
The orange furred fox, who was now a little unnerved that his friend had vanished into thin air, started approaching the stage, looking pissed. "Hey that's not a funny trick! What did you do with him!?"
Looking down at the vulpine, Neuron waved a finger at him. "Ah ah...don't be so impatient. A magician never reveals his secrets." He showed the fox the inner and outer layer of his cape to prove that there was no trickery. "As you can see...he is not of this world anymore. If you want him back however, how can I possibly refuse?"
With a dramatic twirl of his clawed finger, Neuron would let the cape drop back to the ground again, but just as it was about to touch the ground, he'd snatch it up and pull it towards his back, clipping it back on. Where he'd clutched the cape, the red fox now sat curled up where Neuron had ordered him too.
"Feel free to check on him. I'm sure he's quite alright, but you can never be too sure." Neuron took the red fox's paw, and started guiding him towards his friend.
"Hey...Pat, are you okay dude?" The orange fox asked, waving a hand over his companions eyes.
Pat stood in front of his friend for a few seconds, before coming to the realization that he was back in the town, gave a few short nods. "O-OH yeah I'm fine. I just don't get what happened...I was in some kind of dark place."
Neuron winked at the two of them and waved them along. "For one final act to all of you. I would like to present a gift! His eyes started glowing a brilliant pink color, and the wood planks that he had been standing on started glowing in turn before flowers began sprouting from the base. Brilliant purple Aster's that with the aid of the natural breeze, started flying towards the crowd. "These are my gift to you all. Beautiful flowers that should brighten up everyone's day. As one day comes to an end, another is born with new adventures." Neuron waved his hands and offered a short bow to his audience. "If I stumble into this town again I will happily provide another magic show."
When the Kadabra stepped off the stage, he was suddenly surrounded by several people who, for the most part, had children who all wanted to take the time to play with the psychic pokemon. He felt overwhelmed, but he was too kind. With a nervous laugh, Neuron held his hands out defensively to the kids. "Okay okay little ones. I'll play with all of you, just be patient okay?"
He looked around, getting an idea for who stuck around after the show had ended. Only a quarter of the crowd stuck around, and neither of the vulpines were in his sight. He let a small grin spread along the corner of his muzzle before picking up one child with his telekenisis and setting them up on the performance stage so they could look at each other at a more eye to eye level. "You first young one."
Pat was walking out of the park with his fellow vulpine, head in his hand and groaning as if he were having a pretty bad migrane. "Let's get back to Kevin's house, I need some meds and quick...that stupid magician... You've been awfully quiet Jo."
Jo, that is to say, the orange furred fox was busy making sure he had a hold on Pat so that the vulpine didn't fall onto any halloween decorations. If the police showed up now and thought he was under the influence, then their plans for Trick or Treaters would be a lot harder. "You don't think that Kadabra know's anything do you?"
"What? No I doubt it...And even if he did, he's too nice to do anything about it." Pat remarked, a weak chuckle coming out of him. "Comeon, we're not too far now right?"
"Well, we're almost there. Just try to keep it together till we get there okay?" Jo didn't know what to think, his friend wans't always this chatty, but maybe he was just trying to keep up his own spirits so he didn't give in to his migrain.
It wouldn't be a stretch to say that the house they were approaching, was a little beaten down. It was downright condemned by the town given the sign just outside of it. The reasons were listed right on the big red sign but you didn't need to know how to read to see what was wrong. There Pieces of the walls were missing, crumbled on the ground beside it. Windows smashed in, likely int he middle of a break in, and the door was just well...HALF a door. The top half had been sawed off judging from the cut marks of what still remained on it's hinges. Jo and Pat stepped over the cut down door to step into the living room where a small campfire was lit right in the middle of the large room.
There wasn't much in the way of furniture, except for a blue low laying futon couch that the grey furred wolf known as Kevin, was lounging on, Cigarette in one hand and blowing out a puff of smoke from his lips after he'd taken a drag. "You two are coming in awfully late. Don't tell me you stopped to watch that magician's show today..."
The look on Kevin's face told that he wasn't amused. Not by the thought of a traveling performer...or the fact that Pat was standing in front of him, looking like he was recovering from a hangover. "well whatever. Take some pain pills or something. We have candy to snatch from the kiddies, and money from thier parents."
"Right..." Pat lazily started walking past the wolf so he could get to the kitchen to get his head back together. He'd grab a bottle of water that was kept in that area so he could wash up his face, as well as take a few headache pills. When his head finally cleared, he realized that something was missing. Someone rather... "Hey boss, where's our turtle-ey friend? You didn't break him already did you?" The red vulpine called out, feeling better now that he'd had some time to clear his head.
"Who? OH...you mean Lex. He's supposed to be in the park you two were in. He's waiting to give us the all clear so we can start our own trick or treating." The grey wolf took another drag of his cigarette before putting it out in the ash tray that was only an arms length away from himself.
"Hmmm...I hope he'll be okay." Pat muttered to himself, though a strange grin spread on the edge of his muzzle.
With an exhasperated sigh, Neuron sat on the performance stage, waving to all the kids that'd had their fill of the magician's time. He loved to make the children happy, but they could be exhausting when they were in so many numbers. Still... A smile formed on the Kadabra's lips as he watched the last of the chlidren excitingly grabbing a parents hand, and telling them about how their day went.
"Well, I suppose I'd better hop on back to the inn." He put his hands over his knee's and was about to prop himself off the stage when he took notice of a familiar bulky figure...A sea turtle of all things, trying to stick to the more wooded area of the park and shook his head. "Well I guess my plans are going to start just a LITTLE bit early then. But then a good snack always reinergizes these bones."
Lex didn't care for magic tricks, or psychics. He didn't believe in either, despite their being psychic type classified pokemon in the world. But when the park started clearing out, he was relieved and started setting up for his group's ambush. Every kid in town would have to cross through this park to get to every house that was participating in the festive trick or treating season, so it made for a perfect cross roads for them to take the hard earned candy from the children of the night.
One child was already making their way through the park. It was a young female husky, who was dressed up as a cute little charmander of all things. The tip of her tail had even been dyed so that it looked similar in appearence to a Charmander's tailflame whenever she wagged it around. her pumpkin themed basket already had a good chunk of candy stashed away inside.
"And there's some grade - A candy right there." Lex was about to step out of the shadows to intercept the young girl when he found himself stuck! His legs just wouldn't move, despite him trying to jerk them out of place. "Urk...did I step in a mud puddle or something...?" The Turtle looked at his feet to see what was holding him in place, but there wasn't ANYTHING! Just a faint light around his feet which didn't make a whole lot of sense to him. "What...is that...?"
Neuron casually walked towards Lex from the back, his footsteps nearly silent and he could have gone completely unnoticed if he wasn't humming a tune that sounded very familiar to the first pokemon intro.
"What the hell do you wa-" Lex was cut off when Neuron's cane smacked into the the top of his head. The Kadabra had hit him! "What the hell was that fo-"
*SMACK* Another hit from the cane landed on his noggin. They weren't too hard. Neuron's physical strength was abysmal, so even if he did resort to physical violence, he couldn't exactly cause permenant harm even with his cane. "First off, don't use that kind of disgusting language around me. And secondly...I know what you were about to do."
The turtle's hands weren't bound like his legs, and so he would use them to snatch Neuron's cane and chucked it out of his hands. "If you hit me one more time...I'll!"
*SMACK*
This cane had reappeared in Neuron's hand, and he'd wasted no time in giving the turtle another scolding. "Don't proceed to threaten me turtle. Now as I was saying. You were about to take that little girl's candy, weren't you?"
Lex growled in frustration as he was repeatedly scolded. He rubbed his head a few times until he'd heard mention of how he was going to steal the girl's candy. "Do you have any proof that I was going to do that?"
He'd closed his eyes briefly, expecting another smack from Neuron's cane, but when he opened them again, he could see a projection of his interaction with the two cubs last night. It was eerily precise, and detailed how they'd threatened the cubs that they'd better give them the candy or else. "How did you..."
"I'm a Psychic type. What? Did you think that the classification of a Psychic was just a title? Granted...there's not many psychics with the same level of proficiency as I do. If anything Mewtwo could do the same thing." Neuron tapped his cane into the ground once, and the projection vanished. "I'm sorry but bullying children is something I cannot forgive. It just so happens, after a long show like the one I'd performed, I get pretty hungry. Maybe you'd do well as a chocolatey treat."
"Chocolate...what the hell do you me-" Lex's question was cut short, as the same light that was restricting his legs, suddenly started climbing up and enveloping the rest of his body. It felt like warm, which was refreshing given the time of year, but he sensed something dreadful from the light too. "Whatever you're about to do...my...my team will find you!"
Neuron raised an eyeridge at the statement, eyes glowing. "Maybe. But there's only two people left in your gang, but I'm sure once I make it there, your boss will be the only one left."
The Kadabra's words confused the turtle, but he didn't have the time to contemplate them as his body was starting to shrink down and compress. It should have been PAINFUL, like he was being squeezed and being crushed under a compactor, but all he felt was a numbing pressure as his body started losing mass, and shrinking...First he was at his full 5 feet height...then slowly reaching down to 4, and when his body was hitting the three foot mark he noticed that the color of his scales were starting to darken...and the smell of chocolate was starting to fill his nose. "What's...what's happening."
Neuron didn't bother responding. He'd just stare down as the Turtle's body continued to compress and grow stiffer. The scales along it's body would release the smell of fine chocolate, as the change to his body spread. The first notable difference despite his shrinking size, was his shell. What was once a hard, protective shell was now...still quite stiff, but when Neuron proceeded to tap on it, it would actually give in a little to his prodding. The look in Lex's eyes was one that Neuron would remember for awhile. It was one of frustration and fear. But that was understandable...For once, the turtle couldn't retreat into his shell to avoid the coming threat. Or could he...
Neuron's eyes continued to glow, and the stiffening body of the frightened turtle started retracting...Retreating into that chocolatey shell even as the rest of it's body was softening up to become a sweet, halloween treat. The last words that came out of the turtle's mouth, before it vanished within it's chocolaty shell was "Damn...you..."
When all was said and done, Neuron held a chocolate turtle snack in his clawed hands. Nearly the size of a hershy's bar now in the magicians claws, Neuron licked his lips in anticipation. "I told you none of that foul language. Oh well...it doesn't matter now anyway. In you go!"
Neuron opened his maw and took a bite of his chocolaty treat, having taken a third of it already into his mouth and sucking on it to savor it's flavor. "Mmmm....now see...YOu can be rude and nasty as a person..." The Kadabra took another bite, letting the chocolate practically melt on his tongue in delight as he swished it around inside his maw. "But as soon as I step in, you're nothing but sweet. This is why you should try to be a better person, instead of picking on children." With a flick of his wrist, Neuron tossed the last bits of the Turtle treat into his mouth and started chewing on the last bit before swallowing, a small lump traveling down his gullet before vanishing. "Mmmm...now just two left to go...I wonder how Calamity is doing..."
"Alright you two..." Kevin was sitting in his futon, staring down the Fox duo with a smug look on his face. "I hear that the police are going to be doing patrols across the town to make sure the kiddies stay safe. So while Lex is getting our ambush site ready, I want the two of you to go walking down the streets, get a good idea of where the cops are going to be waching out for."
"Search for men in blue? That sounds easy enough." Jo piped up, looking to his partner in crime who was still somewhat shakey but after the medicine finally kicked in, he was able to function much better. "So where will we meet up then?"
The wolf sneered, tapping on the battered table in front of him. "Right here you dope. We're not making any unnecessary moves until we know what we're dealing with. I want that candy, and I want the money so do your jobs, and come back when you're done."
"YOu got it boss!" The two vulpines saluted playfully to the wolf and stepped out in unison. "So!" Jo was more cheerful now that his friend wasn't so light headed from Neuron's magic show a short while ago. "We're just supposed to go patrol the streets. Find out where they're all going to be keeping an eye out."
His red furred companion nodded, taking the first step the duo would take down the road. "It should be simple enough. How about we walk towards the park first? We need to make sure no cops will be in our way at the ambush point right?"
"Wait, are you taking initiative? You rarely do that. What's got you so full of energy?" Jo didn't know what to think of his friend. Usually he was the type to just follow orders and tried not to cause trouble for the rest of them.
"Am I really acting different than normal? I just want to make sure the boss doesn't think we're slacking off." Pat replied, his tail twitching behind him as he was one step ahead of his companion who was keeping an eye on his back. The fox's muzzle cracked upward with a menacing grin as they walked closer to the park.
Just their luck, there were a few police stationed around the park, but they didn't look well armed, mostly a flashlight and the usual Baton that they carried, but they were far enough away from the ambush point that when the time came for their plan to begin that they'd just look like passersby talking and offering candy of their own.
"Alright, I guess this area will be clear for us to do our work. But the idea of any police in the area is still a pain in the boss's side..." Pat muttered quietly, hand to his chin. "I know of a second ambush site though that's not too far away from here. And it's almost certain that lots of trick or treaters will walk down it too."
Jo stared at the police, about 2 of them taking shifts while a third was sitting on a police moterbike. "Hmmm...If it's safer than working around a bunch of men in blue suits then lead the way."
"With pleasure." The chuckle that came out of Pat's mouth was different. Jo didn't know why but it definitely gave him the creeps. Especially that simple statement...it wasn't something that Pat would normally say. But still...he followed along down the street. They were taking quite the detour away from the park, and walking down the buisiness districts that had the heaviest buisiness and very few houses of which children would live in.
"Are you sure we're going some place that will have trick or treaters?" Jo had to ask...The last bit of street housing he'd spotted was two blocks away. They were getting pretty far off the main path.
"It's just right here." Pat's strides were becoming more confident as they approached what looked like a closed down candy shop...Or recently closed down at least since many of the displays were still up, but the door was still locked shut and the lights were off. "Just give me a minute and I'll have us in there in a jiffy."
Jo watched Pat approach the locked door and wondered just when his friend learned to become a lock picker. "So your idea is to break into a candy store...and what?"
Pat ignored his orange furred companion..His claws continued to tinker with the door's lock until there was a satisfying click, and the door swung open. "Just get in here." The red Vulpine ordered his friend. It was uncharacteristic of him, and the abruptness of it left Jo little choice but to step inside of the abandoned candy shop.
When the two Foxes were safely inside of the shop, Pat closed the door behind them and locked the door. "Why would you lock the door? Don't we need to get out of here after checking everything out?"
"After checking everything out?" Pat repeated, a chilling laugh coming out of the vulpine. "Oh I'll open the door and go see the boss after this."
"Alright, then I'll keep watch over this place, and you can go tell him about this candy shop?"
Pat shook his head, waving a claw at Jo and licking his lips. "Not exactly. See...you're not going or staying anywhere." He waved his claw in front of Jo's nose and pulled it away after giving that cold nose a poke. "Well...I guess you WILL be staying somewhere. But it's not going to be where you wanted to be."
"Who the hell-"
"Are you?" Pat cackled and started rubbing his claws together. "I was really hoping you'd ask that question. I guess I don't need this disguise now. You won't be around to tell anyone about it anyway. And if his plans are all going smoothly...soon your boss won't either."
As the red Fox finished his rant, his body would start thinning out, being pulled into itself as if there were a vaccume at the center of his belly. It would have looked painful...if the face that Pat was making wasn't one of twisted delight. His belly was expanding though which was the strange thing.
"What in the world..." Was all Jo could mutter, stepping back and bumping into an aisle of hard candies. Was that a...mouth...?
In the center of that gaping hole in Pat's stomach, there was a purple mass, and the way it seemed to snap open and shut, seemingly in rhythym of the fox's rapidly distorting body, it was apparent that whatever it was...it was consuming his friend's body until the whole lot of it vanished. Standing or rather...FLOATING in front of Jo now, was simply a floating purple ball. The size of which was easily half his own mass.
"Is it...a black hole...?" Jo asked himself, staring at the seemingly empty void, until the sphere started shaking in laughter.
"I'm not something Science can explain, mortal...But you could say your friend was sucked INTO a black hole." Suddenly the sphere would begin to swell, what was once a perfectly round object started growing purple pointed spikes along the edges which poofed as if they'd been concealed behind a hat all day. Two purple hands started forming out of the gas that was being released from the shifting sphere, and both claws started reaching for the smooth surface that was it's face...kneading it until suddenly two triangle shaped eyes seemed to come out of the inner workings of the figure. Those hands then reached around just below the eyes and pried open what was a very sharp set of jaws, of which a loud but satisfied groan came out of. "Aaaaah there we go...Whew..."
A comedic puff of air came out of Calamity's jaws as he finally settled back into his own body. "You flesh and blood types are so stifling...how can you BARE to be trapped in that skin all day?!"
Jo didn't know what to say about this...He'd just witnessed a Haunter of all things...eating his friend from the inside out...or at least it looked that way...and NOW it was talking so casually and questioning their mortality. "Y-you killed my friend....you ate him from the inside you jerk!"
"Hmmm?" Calamity started moving in closer to the Fox, a playful grin on his face the whole time. "Ate him from the inside? Don't be so rediculous...He was already consumed before I even came into this town."
"Before...wait..." Jo looked down, too afraid to actually look at the phantom that was floating closer and closer into his personal space. He crawled to the right, trying to find some form of exit. "So did he not exist at all?"
The question gave Calamity a moment of pause. Was this fox really that stupid? Then... "Ah!" Calamity snapped his purple claws together and laughed. "Oh! I guess that DOES deserve an explanation doesn't it? Remember the magic show that the Magician was performing in your town? Well..." Calamity put a hand over his cheek, looking a little bored. "When he used his 'magic' to teleport your buddy off the stage, he sent him to me. Where I proceeded to eat him alive. I ate his shadow first...The shadow is the window to a person's soul...at least that's how we Ghost types have always believed it to be. After that...I just borrowed his body so I could pull off this overly complicated stunt for that Kadabra. Does that clear things up?"
Jo's eyes widened, not because of Calamity's casual tone of the events that played out the lastc ouple of hours...but the fact that he explained IN DETAIL what he'd done to his friend. "Why...Why, why did you do it though? We haven't done anything against him...OR YOU."
"OH stop." Calamity got up from where he'd been casually laying and held his claws out in front of Jo. Not outright touching him, but the motion definitely froze the fox in his place. "This has nothing to do with you having offended me. Personally even if you were completely innocent of all crimes, I'd still do this because terrifying the living is the only thing I...well...not LIVE for...but y'know.." Calamity snickered a bit and reached his claw out to grab Jo's chin. "But Neuron on the other hand...he has a problem with people who openly bully children...and threaten to hurt them if they don't comply."
"W-what children...I have no idea what you're talking about." Jo tried defending himself, but the shaking of his body while not an open admission of guilt given he was in the presence of a masisve ghost...was pretty telling that he was actually hiding something.
"Again, save it...I haven't seen the details. I was just told by the Kadabra that I could have a few people on the menu...See...while souls are tasty, I think the terror of the living adds flavor to the soul! And when he said I could devour the lot of you then I was happy to jump aboard." As Calamity spoke, a long pink slick tongue snaked out of his lips and started dragging along the frightened fox's cheek. "As we speak I'm sure that Neuron is making his way to your hideout...what he'll do to the boss is his buisiness. But I got two souls out of this whole ordeal, so I think I can walk away happy."
The lick...while it was more to tease his prey, it was also effective in initiating paralysis. His kind was known for having a chilling effect on the living when they got a taste. And Jo, after that wet slurp across his face was trembling even more now. "P-please...please don't..."
"Heh heh...Happy Halloween...!" Calamity's lips spread wide, the pink, surprisingly fleshy cavern completely dominating the orange fox's field of vision as it started closing over him.
For Jo this was NOT a happy experience. The moment that wide gaping maw had closed in around him, he felt inescapable dread creeping into him. The ghost tongue was quick to wrap around his body. Despite the fact that the Haunter was a ghost type...it had a surprising warmth to it's maw...Whether this was a simulated heat or not he didn't know...The saliava that was drenching his body, as that tongue stretched out and wrapped around him quite flexibly however, was not.
It was sticky...warm, and it matted his fur up pretty good, like taking a bath that wasn't as relaxing as one would hope it was. The thing that should have surprised him, was the fact his entire body fit in the ghost's mouth...without any need for chewing or swallowing. "nnngh...please stop this...!"
Calamity's cheeks were puffing out with the fox's bulge...and while he could hear Jo's pleading to be released, he was having way too much fun where he was at now. Slowly...he would unwrap his tongue from Jo's body and start shoving him around from one corner of his mouth to the next...sucking on him like he was a jaw breaker. "Heh...spicy with a tinge of fear...such a great flavor..."
It was so humiliating...to be sucked on and slurped like he was a piece of candy...but in his paralyzed state, Jo couldn't do much except be subjected to such torment...The cold air, whenever the Haunter opened his maw, was so chilling that he was grateful whenever those jaws shut once again...A relief and yet he wanted to be out...but that tongue's paralyzing nature kept him as still as a statue, and he whimpered as he sailed along that slick, slippery appendage that dragged him from one corner of the mouth to the next...At one point it had even shoved him into the roof of Calamity's mouth, which was a painfully grinding experience, but throughout all of this the ghost never chewed.
"mmmm...Well...as all good things must come to an end...So must you." Calamity sighed in dissapointment...He loved to play with his victims, but when they stopped crying for him to release them, he knew his fun had expired. With a tilt of his ghostly body, he started swallowing down the stunned body of the fox, who's bulge was almost non existant going down. He could feel how Jo's body shivered on it's way down.
For Jo this was nearing the end...He felt...strange...The Haunter's body should be cold...it was a ghost! Heck it was a gaseous pokemon, yet it was somehow holding a physical form and swallowing him down. His body was paralyzed but his brain couldn't comprehend why this was all happening when suddenly he was deposited into...what could only be described as a very vast chamber...He landed in the haunter's stomach with a splash...and while it should have been very cramped inside of the pokemon...he could not see any walls! He could see the vicious purple fluids that served as the ghost's stomach acid...but the stomach stretched out further than his eye could see. "What...where the hell am I...And how is this possible..."
The paralysis affects of the Haunter's saliva were beginning to wear off and he found himself standing, and traversing the sloshing waters to find an exit...What he came across however was the occasional bones of the Haunter's previous victims...and the floating spirits of the departed that seemed to be able to safely wander these strange lands.
"Heh...have fun within my depths mortal..." Calamity smacked his lips on the outside and rubbed over his belly, of which there was no bulge anywhere on his form. "You called me a black hole...technically I am a nearly infinite space inside. Try as you might...but you're going to spend an eternity slogging around in there until your body finally submits...Trick or treat indeed...I'd say YOU were my treat." The haunter laughed coldly, rubbing over his belly before flying out of the abandoned shop to return to his forest...he wasn't needed much for Neuron's plan anymore after all. And taking on the big bad boss was more than he was willing to trouble himself with anyway.
Kevin was getting impatient waiting for his croonies. Jo and Pat were supposed to be back so they could start their Halloween scheme as soon as possible, but neither of them have returned. Lex was still missing, he was supposed to have been back already... In his impatience...Kevin had lit another cigarette due to his anxiety and puffed out a few smoke clouds. "What are those idiots up too..."
"I wouldn't count on them to come back anytime soon."
The voice put Kevin on alert. He heard the tapping of a cane hitting the pavement, approaching his hideout and pulled a bat out from under his seat. He waited until his uninvited guest made himself known, and was surprised to see Neuron, the Kadabra of all things stepping into his house, twirling his cane as if he were about to perform a show for him. "I think you've made a wrong turn. "
Neuron continued to casually twirl his cane until he came to rest in the middle of the living room. "That's possible. My information won't always be accurate. But you ARE Kevin right? Kevin highland?"
The casual mention of his last name, made Kevin's finger twitch. With a sigh, he put his Cigarette out. "How did you know that?"
"I have my informants...Kevin Highland...You were born in Slateport city and born into a family of fishermen. You were there when Team Aqua invaded the museum. After that incident you went missing...I'm presuming because you pursued team Aqua because you were sick and tired of the daily grind as a fishermen." Neuron tapped a claw over his cane, his face impassive as he spoke. "What changed Kevin? Weren't you satisfied with the simple life?"
When his past was casually laid out in front of him, the wolf climbed out of his seat and started circling around Neuron, swinging his bat in a circular motion. How did this Kadabra know so much...He'd even filled in the gaps through guesswork. "I used to work in that museum in the summer time, when they struck, I was still young and naive. I wanted to protect the exhibits that I was charged with taking care of and was overpowered by their pokemon. After that I woke up on their submarine. I'm assuming because my getup was somewhat similar to their own back then. After that...well they couldn't bring me back to a city they'd just made a big fuss in so they made me do manual labor in exchange for my silence."
"What cruel fates we are dealt..." Neuron's eyes nearly shut as he listened. He'd almost been struck by Kevin's bat, but his mental reflexes were better and his powers caught the bat just in time. "So as you grew up you were raised in such rough experiences and you turned to crime. I pity you, I really do. But do you not feel guilty about the people who suffer because of your actions?"
When Neuron's gaze met Kevin's, the Wolf flinched...his arm was suspended, as was the rest of his body as he found himself at the mercy of this Psychic pokemon. "Do I...feel guilty? Why in the hell would I? This world needs to toughen up. I survived those experiences, and to tell the truth Team Aqua really isn't all that bad. They're pretty chill when you get to know them."
"So..." Neuron's eyes narrowed and his psychic hold over the bat grew tighter...the pressure on the arm was growing so much that Kevin was forced to drop his bat out of reflex. "You think you're doing the world a favor by bullying children? And stealing from other people is that right?"
"nngh! what is it to you?" Kevin growled as he struggled against Neuron's grip, but the most he could do was move everything above his neck. He bared his teeth at the pokemon and glared into those eyes that were quick to judge him. "If you let the world consume you, you become weak! Everyone needs to grow thicker skin if they want to survive here. That includes you...you're so soft...a defender of the weak and yet you can't bring yourself to raise a fist at me."
"Huh...I think you've been mistaken about me...I don't hate anyone...And I certainly don't hate you." Neuron waved his claw towards the futon and the wolf was suddenly flung into it. "I do agree that the world is cruel. Everyone needs to be able to handle the hardships that the road ahead offers, but I don't think anyone should ever be tempted or allow temptation to bring them to harm others for their own self preservation. I believe the world can get along just fine. Especially when we stop making fists at each other and behave a bit more civil."
The hold over him was overbearing...Kevin couldn't do a thing, despite every fiber of his being wanting to jump off the couch and tear into this guy's throat. "People have tried talking it out, and where's it gotten them? The weak talk and the strong take what it is they want. That's just how it is."
Neuron's passive expression remained until he'd shut his eyes. "It seems that we won't be able to see eye to eye. I was hoping I could talk some sense into you but if you're going to continue on this path of self destruction I don't have any other choice."
"Heh...what are you gonna do? Walk out because your words didn't sway me? Your kind walks out and calls the police to solve your problems. What are th-"
He didn't even see the Kadabra move, yet there he was just standing inches away from him, and a hand held centimeters from his eyes. "I don't hate you Kevin. On the contrary...I'm doing this because you're a danger to the children. And something like that can't be tolerated."
"Excuse me...? Who do you think you are...telling me how to live." Kevin snarled, trying to bite Neuron's hand but the psychic hold over him kept him firmly in place. It was then that he felt a pressure around his legs...He could turn his head just enough to see that this legs were starting to flatten out...As if his bones had been plucked right out of his body without even noticing and all that was there was just skin. "Wh-what the hell...?!?"
"Lex was a tasty treat. And while I enjoyed him, I'm going to make sure I have a full sized snack from you. So...I'm turning you into a giant cookie." Neuron explained, eyes glowing a brighter pink than they normally would as he sped up the process. The white fur of the wolf was beginning to flatten out...almost as if he'd become a short furred canine than what he really was.
"nngh...this...you're going to eat me?! Yeah that really shows your kindness..." Kevin growled out, teeth bared at the pokemon who was changing him...His feet were straightened out as his body stiffened. He couldn't feel anything from the waist down as it had already begun the transformation process...even his clothes which weren't much...just a pair of ripped jeans, started taking on a more crunchy, crispy texture as his entire lower body had become a delicacy by itself.
"If I let you go, you'll target others when I leave this town in retaliation. I can't allow you that luxary." Neuron's powers continued to work their way up, forcing the wolf's arms to lay against the canine's sides...slowly being turned into a tasty crusty confection, yet despite the fact that this transformation was flattening him out...and actively changing his internals to be more suitable for the Kadabra's satisfaction, his breathing was not obstructed and he felt no pain even as the transformation was slowly encrouching to his face. "It is a painless fate if that's any consolation. You will feel no pain in my stomach...or pain in my bites. Nor will death be immediate. Creatures transformed by my hand...don't lose conciousness in their transformation, they remain wholely lucid throughout the experience. Some enjoy this...while some don't. I hope that you'll take the time stewing away inside of my stomach, reflecting on your choices and how this could have been avoided."
Kevin didn't like the sound of that...no loss of conciousness once transformed? That sounded like a horrible idea...With the last of his defiance, he spat at the Kadabra though this in itself was futile...a barrier was errected around Neuron when he transformed a creature like Kevin just in case some stroke of luck, they managed to overpower his psychic grip. It hasn't happened yet...but Neuron was cautionary and preferred to play things safe. If he could surpass mewtwo, then someone in the world could surely overpower his psychic powers with their brawn. He watched the spit slide harmlessly off his light screen and shook his head at the wolf who's body was now a large wolf shaped cookie, his muzzle being the last to crust up and flatten.
"Heh...I suppose I could have removed the light screen. Give you that one hollow victory in the face of your judgement." Neuron's eyes returned to their normal coloration as he knelt to look at his sweet cookie. The Wolf's face had an angered expression, as if it could break free from the magic that kept him in place even now. "I know that you can see me too. Seen but unheard...You are the author of your own fate."
Kevin couldn't speak...He couldn't move. His vision was clear as day and he could see the pokemon kneeling in front of him like it was repenting for committing a terrible act. What a load of crap. Neuron's hand reached out towards him, grabbing at one of his pointed ears and with a damp snapping sound...he felt his ear being snapped off. It didn't hurt, just as Neuron promised and it even...tickled a little bit. A ticklish feeling that was pleasant until he saw his ear, now in the Kadabra's claw and the chocolate chips that were the cookie's sweet filling. He really WAS turned into a cookie...Damnit!
Neuron lifted the crumbling ear to his lips and took steady bites. The crunch was satisfying, and the sweet flavor of the chocolate chips made this worth it even as crumbs were dropping from his lips. "It's always you...It's always the bad guys that always taste the best. I can't get enough of you guys, yet at the same time I wish you'd give up your wicked ways."
[That's rich...!] Kevin thought to himself with a hint of amusement and frustration. He wanted to curse him out, to spit at the Kadabra one last time, but as the last remnants of his ear vanished into the Psychic's body, he knew the rest of him was sure to follow.
"If I had a stronger stomach, I'd have just shrunk you down and eaten you. That probably wouldn't be much better than this though would it...Hopefully you think hard inside of me..."
Neuron opened his mouth as wide as he could, giving Kevin a view of the place that he'd soon call his home. And in his petrified state, he could look nowhere else, even if he'd wanted too, like his eyes were stuck open and he could not even blink to look away. His vision was surrounded by that pink, fleshy tongue followed by a crisp snap! [Am I dead...?]
If he could ask himself that question then he wasn't gone...his crisp, chocolate chip head was snapped off the rest of his body, and now he was being subjected to a live show inside of the Kadabra's jaws. The warm wetness of his surroundings was horrifying and disgusting...and as those teeth came down and started chewing on him...munching him down so he was much more smooth and easily swallowed, he felt a great humiliation...
[I survived my abduction from Team Aqua...I've become the boss of my own crew...! This can't be how it all ends...!]
As many times as he said this, he couldn't escape. Neuron wasn't going to just spare the wolf, regardless of the hard life he'd had in the past. As he thought about that...Neuron had a brief flashback. One of home in a dark cave by himself as a small Abra. The memory was instantanious, but it was enough to give the Psychic type pause...Why did he remember that.
It didn't matter. Memories of his past resurfaced all the time, and in his travels he'd eventually find the reason behind those memories but for now...he took his time to enjoy the large cookie that was at his disposal...None of it was going to go to waste. With a few more snaps and chomps, Neuron would finish off the large canine cookie, sealing Kevin away within the depths of his stomach to join with the Turtle from a short while prior.
"Well I can say with all honesty that THAT was a worthwhile snack." Neuron wiped the crumbs off his lips and straightened out his tux. "And I didn't get my suit dirty." The Kadabra yawned, even as his belly started gurgling noisily at him, to which he'd give it a few gentle pats. "Now now...You've been well fed. Now it's time to head back to the Inn and get some rest...We have a lot of ground to cover till we get to our next show..." He started walking out of the condemned building, tapping his cane against the ground as he did. "Happy Halloween..." He murmured quietly to himself, looking up at the full moon that lit up the sky, then to the kids that were safely walking down the sidewalks to begin their night of trick or treating.
