❝ It was a shining thing of great beauty and power. Strung with Licorne hair and gilded with White Phoenix feathers.
The wood had a blush and a pulse like a living creature. The Briarhart was truly a god gift. After the King of the Dae
fired his mighty arrow and slew his enemy, the bow broke with a piercing noise that the soldiers on the battlefield said
sounded like a woman's cry. No smith alive could repair it. ❞

▌ Once, a very long time ago, war broke out across the land.
▌ Many died and it seemed that peace would never be. On the
▌ brink of defeat, the first King of the Dae implored the gods,
▌ offering his immortal life to save his people. In a dream, he
▌ was bade to enter the Godwood and pierce his heart with an
▌ arrow. The king's beloved wife heard this, and out of love for
▌ her husband entered the Godwood and pierced her own heart,
▌ to save her husband's life. Her blood soaked the wood where
▌ she lie. The King discovered her the next day and his cry of
▌ anguish echoed through the heavens. The gods, took pity and
▌ told the King his beloved's sacrifice was not in vain. He was
▌ instructed to carve a bow from the blood-soaked wood, and
▌ that with one arrow he would win the war and there would
▌ be peace. He did as he was told, and on the battlefield the
▌ next morning, he struck the heart of the enemy. The bow
▌ cracked down the middle, split in twain. Peace reigned. The
▌ King declared the Rosethorne tree sacred, and before fading
▌ into the next life to be with his wife. He bequeathed the
▌ precious, but broken bow to his only son.

▌ The crown prince became the second King of the Dae, and he
▌ was known as The White Stag of Britannia. The broken Briarhart
▌ Bow slept for many centuries, in a glass tomb. Some say it was
▌ reforged by the White Stag who has been missing for many years
▌ now, and that it lies within the Hartwood a sacred Dae sanctuary
▌ protected by the forest and its guardian, as if merely waiting for
▌ something, or rather ...someone.

Aaah!! It's finished! 😍 I'm in love. Artifacts and lore are some of my favorite parts of any fantasy setting. The art is beautiful, the story is captivating. ❤
Ah! Thank you! I just wanted to expand her world a bit and invite the reader in!
AAAAA Pace did a wonderful job and your words, no matter how short or long, breathed life into it. The design is gorgeous and I love the little bit where Belle looks like she has wings when she has it.
The backstory for the bow too is great, and the part with The White Stag reforging it, does that mean we get to see some badass bow wielding Belle at some point in the future? :3

Your comments mean so much to me ♡ And, I don't know how 'badass' Belle is, but
you'll be sure to see art of her and the Briarhart, certainly!

Geez the details on this are intense! I love artifacts, and bows are literally my favorite thing.
With this and the Grimoire, does this make Belle an archer or a markswoman, now?
