Codenamed "Project Reality," the Nintendo 64 design was mostly complete by mid-1995, but its launch was delayed until 1996, when Time named it Machine of the Year. It was launched with games here in North America. YES only two and we had to wait months before any more comes to the US stores so in the mean time we were stuck with just two launch games.
In the end the N64 was doomed from the start seeing that Nintendo stuck using cartridges only, lack of 3rd party games and getting beaten by Sony's Playstation the Nintendo 64 system never gotten it's full potential even though I still have a small heart for this system and have a good amount of games for it.
In September of 1996 the my very first come console that I pre-order was the Nintendo 64 and brought it from a NYC gaming store Electronic Boutique now part of Gamestop.

Two games...
TWO GAMES?!?
I mean, granted one is one of the most influential games of all time...! (And the other is Mario 64) ...BUT STILL!

A third game came out three months later and then nothing for like six months.
But the system did have a lot of great gems.
GoldenEye 007
Perfect Dark
Ogre Battle 64
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Conker’s BFD
Starfox 64
Pilotwings 64

There is a great reason for that...
EVERYONE could program on an IBM clone.
MANY could even code on an Apple Mac.
But who in the name of sanity was using Sun Computers and didn't have the last name of Lucas??? It would have been asking less of third party game companies to program on an Amiga, for Peet's sake.
And yet...the N-64 had quite a few gems and lots of popularity, despite Nintendo making sure that everyone was dedicated to making games...JUST...FOR...THEM.

i got my N64 in 1999 with Zelda OOT and eventually built my software library from there
I definitely had Mario 64 on launch. I forget what other games came out after launch but the only few I had were Super Smash Bros, Banjo Tooie, 4 different racing car games, kirby 64 the crystal shards, pokemon stadium and pokemon snap, star fox 64 and mario party 2 I think? Those were the days. I was born early enough experience the way older game systems growing up, but still young enough to experience the leap in graphical and gameplay technology of 3d. Must've been in what 5th grade when the n64 came out? I don't remember it was so long ago.
I still have my N64 and its games, including Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 007, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day and Bomberman Hero. I hold those games in high regard!
God, I hated that system. It was the worst Nintendo ever put out.
Will you be doing more "modern" consoles in the future, like Playstation, XBox, Switch, Wii, etc.?
Once Il setup more missing games on the new games for the photo Ill will someday.
