Sherbet Kitty Scaled Hood
The second of... three? scaled hoods I've made for my friend, Nicole, thus far.
The yarn was considerably thinner than usual for the brand/label, and I was a dummy and worked the doubles in the full stitch instead of just the back loops, so the hood, itself, came out pretty small, but luckily for us Nicole a) fits into just about anything, and b) doesn't give a fuck, so it all worked out okay.
Also, something that really cannot be seen in these pictures or in the pictures available for the yarn, itself, is the sheer amount of colours that exist in this colourway. The yarn had obviously gone through two separate dying lots and then the two strands were spun together to create this single, beautiful colourway. In photos and from a short distance away, this yarn works up to look largely orange with the odd flecks of colour here and there, but once you get closer you really get to appreciate just how many colours are crammed in there, and it's surprisingly beautiful. There were so many times while I was working on this hood that I had to just stop and admire the yarn because I was caught completely unawares by the colours I was working with. I kid you not, there's sections of the colourway that are dead-ass the colours for the Fairy gym in Pokemon Sword/Shield spun together. It was truly one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" moments for me, and I'm really glad my friend had picked this colourway for me to work with.
