(WTS) AAF-970h Firebrand Troop Dropship
The AAF-970h "Firebrand" Troop Dropship, short for Associated Air Force-970 Heavy Lift, was one of the major workhorses of the Federal Association of Earth (F.A.E) Military during the time of World War III, in the fight against the Mars and Luna based forces of the Entente of Independent Republics', (EIR)'s invasion of Earth. Seeing extensive service because of their powerful hydrogen batteries; which provided them unmatched range and low fuel cost, paired with a sturdy design capable of high atmospheric operations and deployment, rugged armor, formidable armament, and modular interior space, the Firebrand was an unexpected success during the secession of the colonies; having been designed before the conflict began, and only seeing basic policing actions within the unified Earth government. Despite their size, they were deceptively nimble at precision maneuvers, due in no small part to their quad-copter design, with independently articulating engines, and considerably fast for the copters of the time. Highly adaptable SMART-Munitions, anti-missile defense lasers, and a small compliment of Self-Adapting Guided Medium Range Sm.A.A.C missiles allowed the Firebrands to not only survive against the much faster EIR Head-Hunter Assault Crafts, but allowed capable pilots to offer formidable retaliation and pursuit.
Serving as Gunships, Support/patrol Aircraft, long-range recon & recovery vehicles, mobile triage/barracks centers, and of course, Bulk Force/Cargo Transport, the Firebrands were able to remain in flight for multiple consecutive days, with a dedicated communication and monitoring stations, sparse eating/sleeping area for the crew, and modular utility stations to support the crew and allow the Firebrand teams a persistence which the EIR Air & Invasion Forces struggled to overcome. In more desperate situations, the Firebrands were used to great effect as wandering Command Centers, with anti-detection configurations allowing "Dark Units" to rapidly establish Bases-of-Operation in territories lost to the EIR's constant technological innovations. However, despite being produced until the end of the conflict, and by the succeeding Earth Government after the collapse of the F.A.E, the Federal Administration (F.A), the Firebrands had been pushed to their operational limits, and had long since found effective adversaries in the forms of newer EIR Strike Aircraft, Anti-Air Drones, increased AA Emplacements, and the EIR's increasing Orbital dominance and weapon satellites.
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones"
After the Armistice between the F.A and EIR, leading into the Cure Crisis, a badly battered F.A attempted to combat the spreading Biological threat of the Cure Forces using what remained of their Armed Forces, while scrambling to produce desperately needed reinforcements. With the EIR already collapsing and unable to lend effective support, the F.A would ultimately come up short in their early attempts to stop the Cure, as they rapidly consumed Europe; and a considerable loss of the remaining population of Earth. The Firebrands called into action proved ultimately incapable of handling the suddenly emerging Cure Gunships, which were considerably faster, equally agile, and armed with strange organic weaponry able to shred through the Firebrands' once formidable armor. While the Firebrands were able to shoot them down, the Cure's stolen memories & familiarity of them made made the Firebrands little more than lumbering targets, and nearly wholly obsolete; forcing the F.A to rush the development of the experimental XF-1550 "Hellion" Rapid Response Assault/Transport Aircraft (Experimental Federal Design-1550), and eventually adopt the smaller, more specialized vehicle for its superior speed and relatively quick production. Even still, desperate F.A opposition will still employ the old Firebrands when available as the steady advance of the Cure dwindles humanity's dwindling reserves.
P.S I'M STILL COUNTING THIS AS A JANUARY PICTURE BECAUSE I DID THE BULK OF THIS LAST WEEKEND.
lol so here's a vehicle from my original Apocalyptic Setting, Will To Survive, because I've recently been reinvigorated to revamp it and make something out of it, because kitsuko is a blessed little bean that's helped breath some much needed life into that series.

lol as a general rule of thumb, yeah, it's good never to pick a fight with military vehicles!! lol
Thank you very much! I was really hoping that you'd get to see this one! lol that was actually one of my main thoughts when I was finishing this up!
lol and thank YOU for being awesome, and around! I hope to get more of the military designs from this universe uploaded soon too!
