(This Is) The End Of The Line (Parts 1 & 2) (Demo)
OK, I decided to strike while the iron was hot and record a demo for Part 2 of "(This Is) The End Of The Line" and join the two parts together, to illustrate how the segue will work. I guess you can now consider the first version I uploaded the 'single' version of Part 1.
Part 2 is a little less fully realized than Part 1 at this point. A 'helpful' commenter on FAWM pointed out that Part 2 is repetitive. Yeah, it's supposed to be. Part 1 has a more traditional song structure, and then Part 2 is meant to serve almost as an epilogue. The plan is for the synthesized guitars, both bass and acoustic, to be replaced with live ones (you out there, sedge? lol) to give it a more human feel, and to add a little variation to the repetition. Part 2 admittedly goes on a little longer than it may need to, but that was by design, as I plan to use the demo as a guide track during recording of the finished version, and it made sense to me to let it go on for longer than I needed to (better to have more than what you need than to have less, I figured).
In both Parts 1 & 2, the 'synth pluck' sounds you hear on this will be replaced with vocals. I have some ideas for lyrics for Part 2, but they're in such an unorganized state that I'm not going to bother including them here. But I know that they're going to be comprised of several sets of rhyming triplets, ending with something along the lines of:
And if you read the signs
The world is in decline
This is the end of the line
I guess that would kill the whole "keeping it vague" thing I talked about doing in Part 1, but oh well. If I can figure out a way to maintain ambiguity, that's great-- but if not, that's fine too.
Including a link to the Online Sequencer version below, as that's where I'll be making any changes and updates.

There's no way to turn back time
We're always trying to undo something that we did

collective narcissism is collective suicide.
its not "the world"nor"time"
its cultural choices. and collective addiction to exactly the wrong ones,
like symbolic value and indenturing ourselves to cars and trying to impress each other with buying big rectangular houses instead of what we can each learn how to craft ourselves.
nor is wishing to be feared the sign of any good thing.
so many humans crowding everything else on the planet out.
the tipping point to avoid the pain being past
is not the same as to avoid loosing the species entirely.
that part is still possible,
or a much altered species descending from it.
we live in a beautiful wonderful universe, that was not made for us, that we do not own,
humans are guests here, being inconsiderate guests, has its price.
