Everything about this is just absolutely gorgeous! I have no worries to describe.
Superb use and light and shadow in this, and the detail in the armour is stellar. I also love the Roman theme and the relaxed pose. Very, very nice! :)
uuuuum little know fact purple was the color of Roman royals, the generals and the military wore red. (a plant in the alps makes a strong red dye. - Indigo only grows in pampas regions where it is India hot, Lapis Lazuli could be crushed up and makes a light blue but not strong enough to make the Alps red become purple).
Beautiful painting nonetheless.

Well, seeing as how Roman Emperors often times were Generals who seized the throne, or were the heir who spent a years commanding the legions before taking the throne like Tiberius, or ruled the Empire from the head of a legion like Marcus Aurelius, "Royalty" and "General" were often synonymous. In the Republic era, Consuls were typically someone with great military achievements. There wasn't ever a true "royal" dynasty, not like later monarchies, it was primarily really successful Generals that ruled for most of the Republic and Empire. Also, if this wolf is the heir, he's probably a general, and it'd be his adoptive father (almost always adoptions, too) that'd be wearing the purple.
The reason has to do with a supposed religious figurehead that was actually a peaceful to semi-violent protestor radical upsetting the establishment's applecart, so they had him killed while his adoptive father was off on a trip to the Pampas regions of India since he knew the only safe route there and back, and why he was the richest man in the entire Roman world. Upon his return he had the entire group of the Pharisees killed. And his followers created a religion out of their leader, which Rome under ROYAL leaders such as Justinian and Caligula who was never a general yet was both Caeser and god.
I know about the richest man in the world having the same name as his deceased younger brother who wanted to be a carpenter, teaching his son until his death when the boy was 16, Joesph the Elder and Joesph the younger (since the younger died 18 years before his son was crucified).
You need to look up the Roman annals as well as the Jewish archives of that era to find out that purple was the most expensive color in the Entire Roman Empire and ONLY special VIPs like ROYALTY could wear it. Lapis lazuli could not make a strong enough blue, so THIS made Joesph the adoptive father of the radical Jesus the richest man in the world is how I know this it is from also magical Grimoire history. A lot of which is coming to light that Jesus did not die and instead established the Merovingian line of Kings in Southern France until 840 when the Bourbons wiped them out. Still, Jesus being a master magician it should have been kind of easy to escape Jerusalem. I know an alternate history not told in the Bible but IS buried in the catholic church archives.
Still Hollywood has mauled history to be what it wants so everybody wore red!

Really amazing work. I love the details on background and his armor.
Wow! Absolutely stunning! The detail on this piece is breathtaking! The metal work and cloth are impressive, especially the light/shadow. Excellent pose for the character - they really come off as aloof and above it all. The background is just awesome - that vista is utterly gorgeous!
