in 1972, Matchbox created a futuristic toy car that looks like it belongs into the Blade Runner movie: https://http2.mlstatic.com/matchbox.....4_112017-F.jpg
maybe it can fly, too, who knows. :)

so many used to have Matchbox here it became a synonymous name for little toy cars. XD
when the last war was over, germany's toy production was down. japanese companies jumped in and produced tin toys and toy cars for everywhere, and often specially for germany. I am sure our policemen would have killed to have a ford mustang patrol car... XD
Tomica!
was that censored to have a western things before 1989?
not affordable prise as much as toy car but, recent the famous high quality model-car brand in germany is minichamps and I purchased Mercedes:3

and Bandai, Yonezawa (those exist still, too), Taiyo, Haji (those showed up around 1960 and vanished without a trace in 1963 or 64, though some machines ended up at Bandai) and 4 or 5 more.
there was not as much censorship, eastern germany just didn't import from there. politics, you know. :P
there are many brands from germany, but most are just the name anymore, and belong to faceless investors. most of it is made in china anymore, anyway. :/ the quality is great, though. but, still.

I grabbed me a SIKU Mustang, with opening doors... a traditional german brand, but you can't buy them in every place like they used to be. then again, specialized toy shops in germany are going extinct. :( last year one shop downtown closed doors forever. they have been founded in 1875... they were part of my childhood.
1875!that's historicaly.
toy shops in my town too,are almost closed.even the only one ToysRus has only a few stuffs mainly baby toys.they used to sell a little maniac HW and 1/18s...'cause of Mail-order generation, convenient, but lonely a bit.😟

too true. same here, everybody orders online, and the little shops go belly-up. at least I have two healthy used-toys shops around where I can get my fix of old die-cast toys. :)
