Pekkit has a habit of learning a new word and becoming enamored with it, and using it as often as she can for a while.
Edit: Pekkit doesn't Pek very often, she was just thinking about her name when Vizlet surprised her!

She's smart enough to know that eating books does not give you KNOWLEDGE. Just dry mouth.
Probably a lesson she learned while still little.

Nah, some Yinglets just have blue mouths. There's a kid Yinglet with a blue mouth on #119.
Oh, I'm not disagreeing and that is probably the case. But is it a far stretch for a Yinglet to eat lipstick or dye? :)
Considering how big an accomplishment Pekkit thinks it is to not eat books, you're probably right.
could there be winglet that has pigmentations that allows it to hide so well no one knows he exists?
he's like a legend... except he's real and ate all my cookies! my brother said he heard it!

Went back to check, and apparently some Yinglets just have blue mouths. There's examples on pages #76, #109, and #119. It seems to be the rarest Yinglet mouth color though, with red being the most common and pink being the second most common.
Feeena has an blue mouth too, she is however bluish black and the mouth is much darker so it don't stand out as much on Pekkit.
there are dogs (i think one of them is called a chowchow) that have blue tongues.
Pek is full of joy I see...an might not get thrown out of the library...
I’m still astonished that this comic is about seven years old and still going…
Probably all of them, the first time they're handed a book. They only do it the once, though. Well, maybe twice. But then they realize it doesn't work! Or the elders just stop giving them books.
Think it might be cute to see yinglets in a modern setting with Vizlet as a principal or dean for a school for the species from the comic. She could be a college dean and invite Toriel's school to tour her campus; maybe Asriel attends her university and she has a word with him about his adopted sibling and their friends being a bit disruptive.
Anywho, just some randumb thoughts. Curious to see how the visit to the city unfolds...

lol the absolute joy here is nothing short of darling! But I get a strange foreboding dread that this is the calm before the storm, and that something big is going to go down in their travel!
Is it just me or have we not checked in on our protagonist in like a year?
Seeing a yinglet from the front like in the second panel gives me warm feelings. It makes me gasp and blush, then feel comfortable. I don't know why.
I wonder if she got named Pekkit because she says "pek" as some kind of verbal tic.
Not a bad habit entirely. And entirely reasonable... entirely! <^\/^>
been away a while, decided to check in, find out that i've decided to check the same day a new post came out, yayz lol
Always a treat to see Viz and her girls!
I'm betting books lent to yinglets have been consumed before (they smell like they'd taste good, yes) so I'm sure Pekkit got quite a lecture from Ivenmoth's librarian. Also, hope we get to see Viracroix's librarian.
The work on this comic has been fantastic this year. The Baxxid were definitely a highlight for me.

It is good to see zat she has stopped eating za books.
Funnily enough, that's a habit I've noticed behind myself as I keep learning English. I guess it's sorta like an unconscious exercise to memorize the new word well.
She may have done a very very entirely small teeny tiny nibble on one of the books.
Dear god, how do you make all of these characters so bloody adorable!?
I love Yinglets more and more as time goes on. It is almost painful waiting for a new page.
I like the cut of Pekkit's gib.
and how she says "pek"
good vibe. good girl. give her many such books. entirely too much books.

Question about panel 4: was she correcting Viz about her name, or just saying Pek for no particular reason?
(Or is she doing a Pokemon impression. X3)

How will trainers know what sort of yinglet you are if you don't say your name? Kit. Pekkit. PEK!
But how else will you obtain their knowledge if not through the digestive system?! D:
And my second favorite yinglady.
I am a bookworm like Pekkit.

No lie, I got kind of a crush on Vizlet, I love her design, and how she presents herself.
I wonder what would Pek say if she memorized a swear word and Viz interrupted her...
This should lead to some interesting developments; I'm almost entirely sure of it.
Realizing Pekkit is a bookworm (or a booklet?), I get this funny feeling she may end up in the library or find a book on transformation somehow, like she accidentally uncovers some conspiracy. Because way back when, when Elim went to the library to find a book on transformation, the librarian left to go look but never returned. It might be because she couldn't find any for some unknown reason.
Also, Viracroix was strangely okay with believing Kass had transformed from a human, and knowing his methods of keeping things under wraps, there is certainly a lot he could be keeping from the public. Specifically, knowledge which is something he has admitted to being after. So it's like something he could be hoarding for himself in order to maintain power by, I guess, being the wise old man type of leader.
I don't know, but this was some fun speculation. Still don't know how Narklet or Brakka tie-in entirely.

Awww I love those last two panels, they're so wholesome! Look at Pek's speed!
Were is the rest man it's to good to be here this is good enough to be a book
I get the impression that Pekkit has been accused of eating books more than once and she is frustrated by this. Perhaps she has been accused just because she is Yinglet? Perhaps because maybe one time she did eat a book? But definitely wants to prove to the world that she does not eat books... any more. :D
Vizlet don't have her gold earrings in. I do enjoy seeing the softer less commanding side of her. Vizlet might be my favorite character in this comic. Well, and Isher. She has a heart of gold.
Also, it's funny to see Pekkit Naruto run. That got me.

A friend introduced me to OOP, and I have to say I loved every second of it so much I read the entirety in a single night. You really built a world that feels expansive even without needing grandiose scenery. I absolutely love the chemistry of the characters, Kassen's journals mixed with his/her dawning realizations that they're no longer capable of being the only shoulder lent on is such a fun concept, as is their reluctant acceptance that they too must now rely on others more than ever in their life!
I absolutely freaking adore what you've written and the world you've built, I honestly have trouble thinking of a character I dislike other than Brakka for doing the shank shank to Elim, but he got his due lol.
Thank you for sharing this tale for so many years, I hope you have a wonderful day!
