Was doing my regular gesture practice when a friend of mine suggested turning them into Dragonborn. And you know what, gestures are a lot more fun this way! Will definitely be doing this more often ^^

Let's hope the Dragonborn's foot is a lot sturdier than Vigo Mortensen's during the shooting of Lord of the Rings! xD
Great poses tho!

Now you just need Wizards to commission you for dragonborn and dragon art!
They have, a few times! I'd certainly be happy to do more though!
I think this is proof that adding scales and tails to humans is always a big improvement for everyone involved. :}
I'm loving how these look, I especially like the one ready to kick the helmet like a soccer ball! I am curious, though, as I've seen this on other art, too: What is that flowing, hair-like stuff coming off the head? Are those supposed to be long scales or something?
What you see in official art are either long scales or ropy bunches of scales.
They are kinda like the spines on an iguana's back, except long and ribbon-like to mimic the appearance of hair. Some people draw them thicker too, like tentacles almost but I prefer the ribbon look personally.
And thank you!

Ahh okay! I like the ribbons, too. It's a very unique look and I love it.
But they do in the Forgotten Realms world guide and I prefer them that way.
For which edition now. 4e the tail is seen as a deformity. In 5e phb they are no tails.
3.5e. Draconomicon half dragons had tails , no wings.

Ultimately the tail is just a cosmetic feature and their addition or removal is entirely up to personal preference.

If you also count Wildmount/Critical Role Content - Draconblood Dragonborn's do indeed have tails as they descended from the ruling class/nobility of Dragonborn's. Whilst original/raw and Ravenites (descendants of the original slave-type) do not.
Are you referring to the draconian in the former. Cause I was referencing the latter for how they are when introduced in 4e.
Always feels good when you manage to make the necessary studies feel fun!
Lovin' this series!

Oh my lord, these are so fluid and expressive!
Looking forward to see more of these c:

This is something I need to do more of myself. I draw a lot gestures, but they're almost always blank and the poses go unused. I keep forgetting about this, so thanks for reminding me. These look excellent.
Can't help but picture the lefthand one shattering their toe on that helmet a la Viggo Mortenson, haha.
I don't say it often enough but I love your work. The sense of motion from these gestures is great.

Oh I see someone else already made that comment, haha. Serves me right for not reading the comments section *before* I post mine.
