Conceptua Machinara (working title) 8 out of ???
Waking up to new limbs can be an extremely positive experience - especially if they make you feel more capable than you were before. As a mech, you'll have might unlike any you've experienced before - and it's not uncommon to spend weeks just looking at your hands, feeling your new sense of touch.
This mech is semi-reinforced with most of its skin (mechoplast in this case) and plating intact and integrated.
The operator is protected by thick alloy playing across the chest and belly.
Mechoplast (working title) is a flexible (plastic) metal alloy used as an exoskeleton and protective layer on the outside of machine muscle. Not all mechs make use of mechoplast, though - some may come with a microstructured chitin alloy instead, which is less flexible, but significantly stronger.
Alloy plating can be either a part of the base frame, typically around the operator - or integrated atop the skin as additional armor. For this one, the beak is also reinforced alloy as a core part of the frame, for both upper and lower jaw.
Normally mechs will specialize in either bipedal or quadrupedal movement, but this one is a hybrid with the ability to move in either mode with good enough, but not excellent efficiency.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As for this sketch it's about 6/10 accurate for the setting, but serves its purpose for illustrating the feeling of having new limbs, as well as introducing some speculative material lore. Character color and body structure could be more accurate - it looks just a tad too organic!
