Walking on all fours for the first time is a major challenge for recently integrated operators.
If you used to be bipedal, lacking instinctive mastery of your own movement feels both overwhelming and terrifying.
A new body schema can take weeks or even months to get used to...
______
If this were you?
Your limbs have different lengths than you're used to
Your strength vastly improved
But... everything's new. As if you've never walked before. A fear that you will never again learn to.
You could try going on your hind legs and stomping around but that's not viable in the long term, and you know it.
Perhaps your Mech body isn't even in pristine condition. External plating missing, your skin torn, machine muscle exposed in places it shouldn't be. And the only thing you can do is be patient.
Are you ok?

Enjoy this shower thought that got out of hand and is now a weird little series.

This raises some interesting questions, for sure. Like what kind of repairs can be done if your mech isn't in the best condition, and how would that be done? Could you potentially change or upgrade portions of your mech, or is it locked to particular features? More morbidly, for those mech not in the best condition or that may have lost their operator (if I'm using the correct terminology), what happens to the former operator?
I apologize for so many questions. This is a really interesting setting you've created here, but I don't want to overwhelm you.

The mech has no hardware to run it - the operator's brain is all the compute power of the mech, once integrated.
I dunno if I agree with the description.
I know that some quadrupedal species - especially ungulates - are capable of walking and running within hours of being born. (Others take more time, including some species canines and felines.) Plus, quadrupedal movements are a key technique and training exercise for freerunners - while it can take months to train, a good portion of that involves muscle development and skin toughening at contact points, which isn't an issue for such a conversion. The hardest part would be accustoming oneself to one's new proportions - but that was inevitable.
On the other hand, I like the bio-mechanical design of this critter - and I will note that the first steps in any training are usually the hardest. Keep up the good work on the chrome, too.

Note... this is someone who have been bipedal all their life, now in a quadrupedal body.
Nautral quadrupedal animals are born with instincts that match quadruped movement.
But a pipedal mech operator is definitely not!

What a beautiful mechanical creature, I think this is my favorite design out of the bunch
Outstanding design of the mech; everything feels like it should be there. Parts that are meant to be protective like plates and parts that should be flexible like on joints. Well done!
