Letters to Lior the Lion of Zion: #2

Dear Lior:
As you know, Israel is an incredible country, despite being a small country compared to many other countries. In less than a century, we have developed modern weaponry and military hardware that are not only popular, but also among the best the world has ever seen. Today these days, the world, even the Americans, see us as both the minimum standard for military technology as well as the platinum standard for military technology. Why? We are a country forged in war and our kind have collected military knowledge from around the world that helped us become the modern nation that we are today. Our guns today are not only reliable, but are also comfortable with near-perfect performance. On top of that, European military manufacturers hire our people to make sure that their products surpass modern military standards today.
However, ever since the crowd crush in an American city called Houston, we experienced a rapid increase in demands for our guns as police clientele from all around the world placed enormously large orders for our guns. This has attracted curious journalists about this as we explain to them how our guns are also made for police in mind as well. The Tavor X95 is rapidly rising in popularity as a police assault rifle due to its compactness, maneuverability, reliability, and accuracy without compromising its power. This makes it an incredibly excellent SWAT weapon of choice in counterterrorism. At the same time, like with any weapon, the Tavor X95 can kill, too. No police wants to take a life, but at the same time, they have signed off on their employment paperwork that part of their duty is to protect their own lives, even through the use of lethal force.
With Israel's rapidly evolving arms industry, we are often called the Arms Capital of the Old World. Israel's firearms are featured in science-fiction action movies and shows more often these days to emphasize the quality of our weaponry. But the fact that we are seeing more of our weapons in police armories in nearly every country around the world makes me wonder if our country is contributing to the maintenance of global peace or not. I just wonder if our increased exports of our guns to police forces around the world are enough to keep crime from happening (especially the lethal kinds like murder, or worse, child abduction). It's like the element of fear, or the threat to retaliate with at least slightly better weaponry against dangerous criminals, seems necessary to reduce the number of tragedies due to criminal acts.
So now, I am curious for your thoughts on this matter. Do you think Israel's increased exports of our guns to police forces around the world contribute to making the world a better place to live in, or making the world more controlled by fear?

Lior's response:
Dear Gideon:
Thank you for writing to me. We are indeed the firearms champions of the world. You pose an interesting question to me, but I do not believe our purpose is to control the world through fear. When CNG was still alive, that is exactly what it wanted; it wanted the world to be so afraid of everything, and that the only way to live was to obey me and all my foreign counterparts to the letter. That is not the way to live. Live your own life without being afraid of anything.
It somewhat disturbed me, but didn't surprise me at all, to discover that, for example, the nation of Argentina was using our weapons to keep the soccer riots under control. That was the prime example of how effective our weapons were, are, and will be, because it was working for a bit, even though it didn't stop it entirely. It only stopped when CNG killed all those people, even though it brought them back to life later (because 93% of them died just for being fans of those teams). Why do people have to be that hateful? It's just a sport! It's not the end of the world if your team loses! (The teams themselves hated one another and were showing bad behaviors of their own, but the real problems came from the rowdy fans.)
Sorry; I needed to get that rant off. Yes; there was the disaster at Astroworld. There was also a crowd crush in Perth, Australia, although that was a different story. Still, there's no excuse for a crowd crush like that. There's also no excuse for taking a life; no police officer wants to do that unless there is no way out, but the United States had a few problems with police officers killing various individuals for the wrong reasons. (The man who killed George Floyd had a personal grudge on him.)
However, I do believe our firearms are making the world a better place. I've actually seen both American military and police officers travel to Israel in order to receive proper instruction on these firearms. Plus, they've sent me reports on the success they have had with these weapons once they return home. (I make it a point to tell them that the guns do not kill people; people kill people. If you are going to kill me, you have to make a conscious choice to point the weapon at me and pull the trigger.)
If I missed anything, let me know and I'll write back to you. Otherwise, I hope I gave you a legit answer.
Yours truly,
Lior Bachman, a.k.a. Lior the Lion of Zion

Chuong: Not surprised that Israel is the arms capital of the Old World. This is a country where their people were once used as cheap laborers to make guns for the Nazis and Soviets before moving to Israel to combine their knowledge in weaponry that allowed them to defend the Holy Land to this day. On top of this, they're very strict in who they export their weapons to because the Americans heavily protect them without hesitation. The Tavor X95 is light, with most of the weight in the stock, and has very low recoil, if any, making it a new minimum standard for bullpup assault rifles as well as a popular choice for such weaponry. Oh yeah lets not forget that Israeli weapons are more featured in action anime too these days.
Nadav: We Jews lived through the worst of times so our weapons are solely made for self-defense and order. Innovation combined with our desire for continued survival is what makes Israel a tiny but mighty nation.
Zax: I know Wildcat City Police Department has imported Israeli guns. I just have a feeling that the M4 rifles in several police forces around the world will eventually be replaced by the Tavor X95. Growing economy, more people, more risks, and more need for control. And I think Israel is doing their part to contribute to the maintenance of global peace and stability.

Lior: Is that what yours uses?
Leo: Wildcat City uses a variety of weapons, but they have phased out the M4 in favor of the Tavor X95. They're also strict about who gets in the force and who doesn't.
