The 5th in a sort of series I've been making in a similar style for Every Day Original! The cliff and lighting is based on a a photo I took while at Lake Moraine in Canada. The light was so beautiful and I wanted to do something with a half-lit dragon where the focus wasn't on the face at all, but more on it's entire shape cut against the sky.
Accompanying poem:
“The wind was brisk and whispered upon its currents the coming of the changing seasons,
The meandering of time and the elements continue their ceaseless changes upon the earth’s landscape,
But for a moment, like time captured in a web, it stood upon the great cliffs and took it all in from up high.”

It's so gorgeous, I want to see it with more snow some day! Thank you :)
Thank you! The sun gave me some excellent inspiration that day :D
Lovely, especially the details and lighting of the cliff. Lucky dragon, just taking in the sun during a peaceful moment. :)
Aw thank you! Honestly that's exactly where I'd be if I were a dragon - gotta soak up that last light of the day with a view :D
This can't be an easy sort of lighting to replicate, and I think you pulled it off beautifully. The composition is really well crafted to show it off. I can tell you've been doing watercolor for a really long time, it's excellent!
Thank you! It was definitely a challenge that just had to be taken slowly, but a fun one at that. From where I stood when I took my reference photo, the tree on the right was there and I added the ones on the left side to make a sort of window up to the cliff. :)
