Th is an entry to kikatsu' Secret Santa event.
Once again, my target i someone I hold in high regard. Back then, he did neat-looking and surprisingly close fan-art. Later, he started to develop his own, smooth, shiny style. Now, he had eveloped several: a simplistic, subtle, rathe relaxing style that implements a lot of closure, a flatly-coloured yet perky style that helps with animation, a painterly style that has a lot o flexibility, and s on. He also expanded hi subject matter: he went beyond just bundling a lot; now he does impressive animations on a variety of themes from bulking fun to the value of horns. He is a great director alongside an excellent animator.
I may have said this already, but I also could learn from him.
I did better here, but I still could not do what I fully wanted because this month wa surprisingly busy to me. I noticed that liked to bundle up a lot; I decided to play wi that idea. After all, Dragonite have a quadruple weakness to ice, hence all that bundling would make ice moves ineffective. Because of that, I decided to do his Tundra outfit.
I tried to emulate the actual shading and outlining style of the official FireRed LeafGreen sprites, though I had trouble shading with black, which I consider a pretty big weak point in thi sprite. I feel that I overdid that work. However, I really like how the shading and outlining of t head parts looked. Also, the icicles were actual sprite rips from Spriter's Resource, since I wanted that piece of authenticity, though I of course did the sprite of Luke myself.
Hopefully, I can do an imated version of this one day, which was my original plan.

Caleeeeb! Several things:
Thank you so much for the wonderful description you added on this piece. I couldn't help but smile reading through it, to know that you have been following my art for so long to remember all those little details means more to me than you know. Thank you so much for those wonderful words, and for enjoying those films.
Secondly! The reason I enjoy participating in these Secret Santa exchanges so much is the sheer diversity of mediums that people on here use to create art. And this piece once again reinforces that! I love your thought process of using your pixel-art skills to create an homage to Gen 3. And just the sheer comedic effect of being able to belly-bump away the weather itself!
I absolutely love this Caleb. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this, and for starting my christmas season in the best way <3

That... i surprisingly sweet, especially the part abou the diversity of mediums.
My pixel-art skills are still pretty low in my opinion, but...
*looks a the pixel art I made already*
...at least I found a strong point in my art.
I found odd that n one made that Gameplay and Story Integration until now. I was initially thinking of an epic painting, bu the references to the official games and the warming effects of the fat had too much potential.
I feel grea that I started your Christmas eason in the best way.
