The 7th in a series of watercolor paintings of dragons in their habitats inspired by the PNW. This one was based off a burn area in the North Cascades, though I forget exactly where. I've been wanting to paint this landscape for a while now. I've always loved the way the white rocks poke through the moss and grass, and the contrast of the burned trees. Also decided to make the dragon much darker than I usually go for, as I felt it really worked with the burn theme. Also played with raven-like sheen with the green, though next time I may incorporate some purples in there.

I'm very impressed by the fact that this is only 6"x9"! So much detail on an itty-bitty canvas. Oh and it's watercolor. Magic.
