She's aliiiiiiive! My creature lives!
Meet Weathervane (or just Weather, usually), my fursona of however many years who has gotten redesign after redesign. Much like myself, she's had quite the identity crisis (or, more kindly, she's "grown with me"), but for the time being, she's settled on this form.
I say every time that I think she'll have this design for a while, but I think I mean it this time. She's seen so many iterations but rarely has one resonated with me the way this has, and I'm profoundly happy with how she turned out this time. She's a bizarre li'l critter, but she'll always be the best boy to me in any form.
Weather is a Jersey Devil/spectral bat hybrid, and her cryptid heritage granted her a fun set of powers at birth, including shapeshifting, mesmerism, and (who would have guessed it) the ability to manipulate the weather! She spends most of her time with her snake gf, Willow, who has interesting powers of her own. Weather often shifts her shape to cause mischief, or for practicality reasons; wings are great for getting around, but even when folded, they can really be a pain. The same goes for her sharp tail, which could take off someone's arm or leg if unchecked. The red rings around her tail aren't physically attached, but are rather magnetized, so Weather can toss them if she wishes but they always return (like boomerangs). She loves to go for long flights over the oceans, playing in the clouds and chasing planes.
Her face is foxlike, but spectral bats have pretty long muzzles compared to other chiroptera, so I think it's fine!
Also, with this ref brings the formal introduction of Luckybolt, her butterfly familiar, who first appeared in her previous design. He met her when she was going through a difficult time and the two became inseparable. They're the best of pals, a Sparx to her Spyro, and Weather never goes anywhere without him.
