At home on Mother's Day, a new feeling of inclusion as Isabella sat in the bedroom and read through books on parenting, still getting used to the feeling of being a mother to her own bundle of joy. It had been a bit since she and her husband, Matt, welcomed little Elias into their lives, but it would be a time yet when they might give him a sibling after growing accustomed to the sleepless nights and changing of habits and schedules. Matt and Bella had discussed, planned, and talked with their parents, but the reality was that you didn't really know how to prepare for it until you were dealing with it. Isabella looked over to the crib that sat beside the bed, smiling at the little folf wrapped in a blanket and softly cooing reaching out at the mobile hanging above him. He babbled and giggled as his little fingers tapped the dangling shapes and spun them, making Bella's eyes water with a hint of joyful tears. It would be a few hours still until Matt would be off work, his paternity leave was still a little ways away and he worked a bit longer so that the time he spent at home would be showering his little boy with affection and little baubles for him to teeth on or squish. Isabella laid her reading on the bedside table, sliding over until she hung over little Eli, cooing softly at the sight of his mom and reaching out for her. Isabella whispered softly to him as she rubbed his little tuft of head-hair, getting a giggle in response. She slowly leaned forward to lift him into her arms, rocking him softly as his little hands grabbed at her hair and face, babbling and drooling as he gazed in wonder at her. "Daddy will be home soon, little E. Dear little folf, my little Mother's Day gift." Bella whispered as she dangled a finger for Elias to grab, promptly trying to teeth on it. Isabella laid back, lifting Eli into the hair and bringing him back down, joyful giggles from both mother and child as they played. But after awhile Elias' eyelids grew heavy and Bella brought him down to her chest, turning to her side as she felt likewise fatigued as well. She looked at little Elias and kissed his head, pulling the blanket up higher to cover them both, quickly drifting to sleep. A peaceful evening for mother and son, and wishes for more such quiet moments to come.
