Heh, as I recall from my sundae School, there were no female angels despite popular image.

I'm not sure, but I think angels are considered genderless, with a male appearance.

It's an innocent question, don't think it qualifies as talking back. If Theodora wants to pursue the issue after being told to be quiet, then there may be trouble.

I don't think so. There are potentially good reasons for Eudokia to marry again, and Rossweisse knows for a fact that angels exist, so it is possible, if unlikely, that an angel did appear to the Empress to release her from her vow. Now, however, Rossweisse knows that Eudokia is flat-out lying, and can plan accordingly. Good information is invaluable in the murky world of Byzantine politics.
