And here is the finished version of my latest traditional artwork "Family Portrait"!
I thought it would be nice to get Reptile (lower left), his wife Valeris (lower right), their daughter Lunefer (upper left) and their son Cynrik jr. (upper right) all together for a nice family portrait shot.
Last time I did something like this was way back in 2006:

Still doing all these traditional pieces eh? Awesome 😎
One day I’ll go back to traditional myself
One day I’ll go back to traditional myself
Yeah... still doing it... since 1996!
Well, I have to admit that I'm more or less down to one traditional artwork per year... but that's OK! ^^

Aww, that’s a shame. But understandable if you are immensely busy
Well, it's not about being busy... it takes a lot of muse and motivation to do that. ^^
Digital artworks are faster.
Digital artworks are faster.
Also a traditional art adherent as well; been doing it online since 2005! I struggle with tablets and just prefer to have the physical mediums and materials. Honestly I enjoy art more when it is done traditionally, though I wish I knew how to get traditional work to look as clean as this on a computer...
Try playing with the curves feature (if you’re on photoshop). I also used to scan my traditional artwork in B&W
That's a great portrait. Any Reptile drawing is always a treat and an inspiration to me.
(I need to get up off my lazy yet busy butt and draw again.)

Fascinating artwork of a renowned family~ It took you lot of heart and effort to put Reptile, Valeris and their children together in inks and then rendering them with colours, so amazing job in illustrating the heroes for your worldbuilding :)
It has been YEARS since we last time saw their kids and now they're grown up. ^u^
Cynrik jr. looks just as handsome like his proud dad.
And great contrast between their scalie skin color tones.

Indeed... in 2006 they bathed together at the beach and now they're all gathered again for a photo shoot!

looks very nice with colors as well ! and this really reminds me of your older art :3
probably the traditional style, the amount of scalies in one place and the lush background !
Hehe... not only that... I guess my artwork feels almost like this older one from 2007:
https://www.reptile-universum.de/re.....ps/Meeting.jpg
The amount of detail, bright, happy colouring... peaceful and jolly atmosphere... yeah.
I don't agree that fantasy always has to be dark and colourless.
It can also be COLOURFUL AS FUCK!!!!
Agreed?
XD

They grow up so fast... XD
Well, uhm... not really... they age slow but they can also get very old. ^^

All you have to do is get your hands on pencils and paints and you create a new true fantasy reality, really just a little bit and we could touch. I would love to meet them in reality...
The girls are easily recognizable, but for the boys I wouldn't know, of course you gave a different shade of green, but we know that both dark and light green shades have been used for the main character in the past :P
This reminds me of a picture of yours that still depicted the teenager generation of kids that I found years ago.

Hello, thanks for the long and sweet comment!
I'm an old fashion guy... meaning: Give me a pencil and a paper sheet and I'm happy!
XD
Yeah, about the green scale colour... the thing is that Reptile used to be "grass green" when he was young. Now, that his son reached around the same age... it's logical that I gave him that green tone.
When the males age, their scales turn very dark... look at Reptile!
^^
https://www.reptile-universum.de/re.....0UK/Page60.jpg
As you can see here, Reptile was "bright grass green" for most of the past. In all my old comic books he looks just like that.
But in 2003 I discovered that olive skin tone. This here was one of my first artworks with the darker skin:

I understand. I think they both look good, but I can imagine both of them in dark green, then when asked who the father is, I just get a tongues lolling out to embarrass me into making up my mind :D

No... sadly, this is one of my very few unfinished pieces.

Oh yeah. I remember that. Only one of thee with Lunefer. Interesting that we see her at three different shes: a young child in the water, a pre-teen with that dress on, and a young adult, over 18, in the most recent picture of her as of this post.
*one of three. Typo. Won't let me edit it. Also meant to say "different ages."
As always, your coloring work is amazing. It really brings your drawings to life. ^ ^
I really like the colors here. They're appropriately vibrant, and truly make the picture pop.
Excellent work as usual.

I see that scale work also plays in part of age. As Cynrik only has a small amount to see. What age would they be 18-19 ish?
Well, the Reptilians do age differently from humans... but yeah, you can say they are around 18-20 years.
Hehe lucky guess. All I did was take 2023 and minus 2006 and I got 17 but by their appearance in the family pic they looked a year or two already
Hehehehe, thank you! That comment is highly appreciated! :3
Gaaaaaaaaasp! They're all beautiful and gorgeous and handsome and sexy and glory and badass and exotic and magnificent, all wrapped into one - er, four? Haha, either way, they are one good-looking family! :D :D :D :D :D
So, they live a long time and stay young for over a century? Even after hitting young adulthood, Lunefer and Cynrik Jr. seem like they'll have a very long time to go around having dates and all that without the full responsibility of being a king or queen. Not that they're not busy with other things, but they probably have a lot of time to enjoy being young, still adults, and being able to go on dates.
I guess so. Decades or over a century of being able to enjoy that sort of thing. Especially Lunefer, being the youngest.
I guess there's one last thing to say here. It would be wonderful to be any of them, but especially Lunefer. She's the youngest, fresh into adulthood, will be in charge of the tribe someday, she's very attractive, and on a minor note, it must feel really good to run barefoot over all that nice grass.
Plus, she probably can get any young, unmarried, reptilian male age wants. :)

Hello there ReptileCynrik! I'm a huge fan of your work! I've seen your artwork and talents for a very long time now! On top of that, you've also inspired me on some of my things and characters! Just want to let you know that I really love your work, your characters, and your universe! Reason why I've not said anything before was because I didn't have an FA account yet nor did I know anything about this site. Love you man! Gave you a Watch! And I'm looking forward to see what more you have to offer for your audience!

Thank you! And you're truly welcome! I'm no artist so I try to be "Artistic" on my texts by Color Coding them!
Absolutely beautiful, Reptile! It's great to see the family all together. This was great just in ink. Looks amazing in color! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Oh no way, I have a looong way to go in the graphic novels with Reptile. I had no idea he had a family... Hell, his son looks practically exactly like a younger Daenok himself. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought this was a family portrait of Reptile's parents and himself and his sister if he had one, but I read the description so I know it's one generation removed from that.
His son looks super buff compared to his father, Reptile, so I wonder if Reptile is old enough now where his naturally occurring testosterone is slowly fading from production and he is losing muscle mass accordingly? This happens to all older men, but I am not sure if Reptile is old enough to be in that category yet.
Junior has some gorgeous dark green skin, he almost looks like he just opened a Pandora's box with those devil red eyes of his, WOW... You are SURE he's a good guy, Junior is, right? Haha. Those protruding veins, pumping and billowing their way out of his skin, WHOA.... you just want to press your face against them, feeling the flowing life and pulse with every passing moment, snaking your face left and right to appreciate the tactile feedback of his scaly skin. MAN.... Junior is HOT....
Of course we must investigate his sister Lunefer on the right. The anatomical perfection of the panorama of her buttocks, as it forms the perfect tangent connections between her lower back and upper legs.... drink it in! You could slide your hands back and forth along that roller coaster, skating and dancing your fingers along each divine crevice. WOWZA!!!! She looks equal parts party acrobat and amazon warrior all rolled into one. The deep velvet lilac color of her clothing works perfectly with the sky blue color of her skin, I absolutely love these 2 colors together, very mesmerizing. She looks barely legal, lol, which is a porn reference to girls that are 18. Energetic and feisty, good luck to whoever tries to work the magic on her lol.
This is the oldest I think we have every seen Reptile? Very statesmen like, reminds me of a senior politician, very reserved and not as aggressive as he used to be? He definitely has less overall muscle mass than his son, I wonder if he has noticed this and how he feels about it. One the one hand, he could feel pride for raising a warrior that becomes stronger than he currently is. On the other, he might feel that he is being 'replaced' by his own son, which would be a challenging mental condition to handle.
Valeris has a just barely visible nipple underneath her dark purple bra. I know this because I spent a long time looking and gawking at it, studying every possible shadow and all the line work in between. FOUND IT!!! She barely seems any older than her own daughter, I wonder if she is significantly younger than Reptile is.
I wonder how Reptile got so much lighter green all of a sudden? Was he always like that? Or is his son just a really nice shade of DARKER?!! Man, that's even hotter, WHEW!!! Or maybe they change their skin color in seasonal shifts with the intensity of the sun?
Junior's legs look like they are carved out of some sort of native verdant wood. Oh, Junior's legs.... What adventures will you take me on...

First of all, many stories and family connections or relationships can be seen on countless artworks or read in many stories. Well, most stories are in German so it's no miracle you may lost many facts here. But don't worry... I can always explain anything! ^^
But yeah, you see now how vast and huge my universe has become over the years.
XD
Reptile's son is as strong as Reptile is... at least with his age. Anyway, training in the royal guard and fighting countless battles makes you strong and buff, I presume.
But Reptile is still a bit stronger... and at least way more experienced!
Of course, Reptile (like all reptilians) would lose some muscle mass over the years... but right now he's still in his primes!!
^^
And I don't think that Junior looks any more buff than Reptile... naaah!
And I guess that you got something mixed up here... Junior has NO dark green skin and no thick scales yet. Also, I can't see any veins on his body.
You're talking about Daenok "Reptile" Cynrik here! He's sitting on a throne-like rock and is in charge here.
XD
And you got Lunefer wrong, too... this is Valeris sitting here and showing her amazing thighs and buttock.
^^"
You mixed them all up, hehehehehe...

XD
I really thought you'd recognize them.
It's usually normal for a family portrait that the parents sit in the middle and in the front.
^^
Maybe, it's the traditional media... Reptile surely looks darker when I use COPICS! This is not a "Swimsuit Special" after all!
Thanks very much for the sweet words and I'm glad you like it.
Also, this artwork offers a huge insight in this special family!

Oh dude that's hilarious, I was actually looking at the characters in reverse order of what they were. It's the parents that are in front, and the children that are in back. WOW!! Hard to believe I interpreted things that way. And yet, I found it very entertaining to render them in my mind exactly as I thought they were. It FIT perfectly for some reason.
That's actually one of the more incredible things about the power of artwork. The audience may not see things as intended by the artist, instead, they could form their own appraisal and analysis of the characters. I had a total blast thinking this was the case, even though it turned out not to be!
Are you saying that the stories in which Reptile meets his wife and breeds his kids are not included in the English translations available on your website? I am getting ready to read chapter 3 of his saga, so I am still very far behind when this likely happens, but let me know when the gap occurs to when the English readers can't continue anymore.
Haha, well I'm glad you took my misadventure into your work in stride and didn't break down that exquisite paradisaic of a warm personality that you are famous for.
The 'artistic high' is what I value the most, how mentally stimulated I can get from observing the characters and internalizing them. I gathered a delicious amount of it on this family portrait so I was well fed, all confusion aside.

Hehehe... it's alright to make mistakes. ^^ No problem.
And yeah... the mystery about Reptile's family isn't completely explained anywhere. I have some pieces of stories here and there but as a matter of fact... his kids just appeared at some point in history. ^^"
I didn't really put it on paper... at least not in detail.
So... nope, you didn't miss anything.

No prob. Like I said earlier, it was kind of fun seeing things in the wrong way, since I was able to let my imagination lead me wherever it wanted. Always fun to be provocative.
Yeah. I seem to recall that Reptile's son was born when Reptile was still married to a human woman, and that Lunefer was born after Reptile married Valeris. But not much else is known.
Is there anything written about Lunefer? She's the future ruler of the tribe, IIRC. Apart from being a beautiful darker shade of blue and clearly inheriting her beauty from her mom. :D
Perhaps Valeris teaches her how to rule the tribe? Spends a lot of time with her?
It's interesting to think of. Especially if Lunefer is (seemingly) not as much of a fighter as her father, brother, or mother.
